Friendships and coffee mornings for Sonya Lodge Care Home residents

Every Tuesday morning, a group of our residents from Sonya Lodge Residential Care Home head out to St Michael’s and All Saints Church in Wilmington for their much-loved weekly coffee morning. These friendly gatherings are always a highlight of the week, giving our residents the chance to connect with familiar faces from our local community.

Over warming cups of tea and coffee, and generous slices of homemade cake, conversations flow as everyone catches up on the latest local news and shared interests.

It’s heartwarming to see such strong friendships between our residents and our neighbours at the church, built over years of companionship and shared moments. We feel incredibly lucky to be part of such a kind and welcoming community, where friendship and fellowship (and cake!) are always on the menu.
