Greensleeves Care homes have achieved the prestigious Gold Standards Framework (GSF) accreditation for excellence in palliative and end-of-life care – marking the second successful round of accreditation for the not-for-profit group and bringing the total number of GSF-accredited Greensleeves Care homes to 19.
This milestone is part of Greensleeves Care’s ongoing commitment to ensure every resident receives compassionate, dignified, and person-centred support through every stage of later life.
The GSF is a nationally recognised, evidence-based programme designed to improve the quality, coordination, and consistency of palliative care across health and social care settings. Fewer than 350 care homes in the UK currently hold this accreditation, which demonstrates excellence in enabling residents to live well and die well – with dignity, respect, and choice.
All newly accredited Greensleeves Care homes completed the GSF training programme, compiled a detailed portfolio evidencing the Framework’s standards in practice, and welcomed an in-person assessment visit by the national GSF team to confirm that the approach has been successfully embedded into everyday care.
The newly accredited Greensleeves Care homes are:
- Arden House Care Home – Leamington Spa, Warwickshire - Borovere Care Home – Alton, Hampshire - Clarendon Lodge Care Home – Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire - Henley House Care Home – Ipswich, Suffolk - Mount Ephraim House Care Home – Tunbridge Wells, Kent - Pelsall Hall Care Home – Walsall, West Midlands - Speirs House Care Home – New Malden, Surrey - The Briars Care Home – Sandown, Isle of Wight - The Orchards Care Home – Ely, Cambridgeshire - Torkington House Care Home – Acton, London - Viera Gray House Care Home – Barnes, London
Through this initiative, Greensleeves Care is enhancing and standardising end-of-life care across its family of homes, ensuring consistent excellence and emotional support for residents, families, and colleagues.
Julie Clarges, Director of Quality and Compliance at Greensleeves Care, said:
“We’re absolutely delighted that a further 11 Greensleeves Care homes have now achieved Gold Standards Framework accreditation. This is a testament to the commitment and compassion of our teams, who work tirelessly to ensure every resident receives the best possible care at every stage of life.
“Palliative and end-of-life care is one of the most meaningful parts of what we do. This accreditation reflects how our teams consistently go above and beyond to provide care that’s not only clinically excellent, but deeply personal, compassionate, and dignified.
“At Greensleeves Care, we want people to feel good about their care and confident in their choices – even through challenging moments. This accreditation reinforces to families the quality and support they can expect.”
With 19 Greensleeves Care homes now holding Gold Standards Framework accreditation, and further homes progressing through training and assessment, the charity continues to lead the way in providing exceptional, evidence-based palliative care across its portfolio of homes.
