Review of Henley House from Jane B (Daughter of Resident) published on 29 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Our mum is a resident at Henley House, and after 3½ years we are absolutely certain that this home was the best choice for her.
It's smart, clean and warm and there is always a friendly welcome. The staff are very experienced at looking after residents with dementia, their care is second to none and mum is looked after with patience, humour, kindness and respect.
All the care and support staff at Henley House are outstanding. They take the time to get know the residents and relatives, and can also be very supportive to relatives when needed. The atmosphere is always upbeat, lots of chatter and laughter with residents and families.
As mum's needs have changed, her care plan has been adapted to ensure that her ongoing needs are catered for, seamlessly.
The activities team are great - they get to know the interests and abilities of each resident so they can tailor activities and encourage participation.

I'm sure our Mum is safe, comfortable and content at Henley House.

Review of Tickford Abbey from Julia G (Daughter of Resident) published on 28 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My Mum went to Tickford Abbey for three weeks in June on respite care, and has now happily become a permanent resident. She is settling in so well and enjoys the beautiful surroundings and garden decking areas to sit in most days.
Her room is spacious and everyone is always happy to help and assist in any way in making her feel at home.
She has regularly visitors, including Great Grandchildren and they are always made to feel very welcome whatever time they visit, with tea and biscuits offered.
Regular activities and trips out locally have helped in making her time there so far, varied and busy.
All the staff are exceptional with first class care for my Mum, always helping her in every aspect of her care with patience and respect.
The home made meals made on site and set in a lovely dining room are delicious, and which my Mum thoroughly enjoys.

Thank you Pat, Michelle and the whole team at Tickford for helping to make it such a happy and safe place for my Mum to live.

Review of Borovere from J F (Regular Volunteer) published on 15 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
I visit once a week with my therapy dog. I love going and she does too. The staff are amazing and give me a free rein now to go to the rooms of the residents that I know would like to see Willow. I hear that the food is fantastic and when coffee/tea comes round in the morning the biscuits look lovely (homemade) All the residents I talk to are happy to be there and Andy the Activities organiser is wonderful with them. He makes them laugh.

I think maybe the only thing I would mention is the outdoor space, if more could be made of that it would be the absolute perfect place.

Review of Borovere from N S (Daughter of Resident) published on 15 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Borovere Care Home has provided exceptional support for my mum since she arrived in May. The staff's kindness in helping her settle in has been outstanding, especially given her challenges with dementia. Paulina's amazing energy, Hayley's unbelievable kindness, and Michelle's straightforward approach have been invaluable in making her feel at home. Although the transition was not easy, the staff's dedication to maintaining her dignity has been remarkable. The entertainment, featuring 60s pop music, is delightful and engages the residents meaningfully. The social media updates keep me connected, and the team's reassurance has made this difficult decision much easier for our family. Highly recommended

Review of Borovere from Jen C (Daughter of Resident) published on 14 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Mom moved into Borovere in November 25 and from the initial super warm welcome to now the staff have been absolutely fabulous. Mom was previously in another care home in another part of the country so have a direct comparison and cannot praise Borovere highly enough. She settled in very quickly, she has put weight on and really enjoys her food. She is on a puréed diet and the effort to keep the meal elements looking different to tempt her appetite is very welcome. They even made her a birthday cake this week with strawberries and cream and puréed her piece so she could enjoy it and made her feel very special. A special mention should be made about Andy and the activities team as there is something happening every day and this makes such a difference. Very happy with the choice to move Mom to Borovere and cannot fault her care.

Review of Clarendon Lodge from Harvey C (Husband of Resident) published on 13 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Excellent residential home for my wife since her admission 3 months ago. We had chosen Clarendon Lodge first of all for its cleanliness and secondly for the whole layout, all on one level. The whole building is light and bright with all bedrooms opening onto the large well maintained garden. Large reception area with coffee machine is a welcoming place to meet and speak with other residents and their family. Various and numerous lounges for activities but also to have private family visits. Various activities are on most days and occasionally outings which relatives may join in too, plenty of fun to had in and out of the home. Monitoring of health conditions is carried out on a constant basis. Lastly and most importantly, the staff. Each and everyone of them are the best. Friendly and caring in every way. Whether helping with personal care or accompanying to meals etc they give 100% of their attention and dedication. Once again, the best!

Review of Bucklers Lodge from S T (Niece of Resident) published on 9 July 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

we visited my aunt today on her 96th birthday. Having been a resident for one year, she is very happy + settled. The staff are all very nice + friendly and all of her needs are catered for. My mother was also a resident at Bucklers Lodge until she passed away at christmas. As a family, we have only good things to say about the care given by the staff and the building itself and the surroundings are first class. We would recommend Bucklers Lodge to anyone looking for complete peace of mind for their loved ones.

Review of Broadacres Care Home from Hugh M (Son of Resident) published on 8 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Couldn't hope for mum to be looked after better than she is at Broadacres. Although she stubbornly wanted to hold onto her independence, living in her own home, the reality was that looking after the house and herself, was becoming unrealistic, and once her mobility reduced, she was feeling isolated and lonely. At Broadacres, she has all her care needs looked after and lots of stimulus and activities and a real community spirit. Her health needs monitored with looked after. The carers and management teams are all fantastic and you couldn't hope for your loved ones to be better treated, cared for and in nicer surroundings.

I visited from 12:00 to 16:00. There good activities which many residents enjoyed. I had a good lunch with my mother. There was good care: friendly chat, help with moving around, medication, and so on. There was a kind, supportive atmosphere. I was made to feel welcome. A visiting dog was also a pleasure- I'm glad they are allowed.

Watching the big smiles while they played balloon tennis was wonderful.

All the staff have great patients all the time - whatever they are doing.

Wynei has cared for my mother over the 3 years she has been at Speirs House and has always been attentive to my mother's needs and polite to her making sure that mum is comfortable and has everything she needs. Wynei communicates to me any concerns that she feels I need to know about and so can deal with. Wynei is a real asset to the Care Team at Speirs House.

John attends the Alzheimer's daycare and enjoy everything about it staff, activities etc. John attending gives me a day to catch up with things, as he needs my care and attention every day. I also meet up with people in the dame boat as me which really helps. I would highly recommend Rose Cottage.

Review of Mount Ephraim House from F M (Daughter of Resident) published on 3 July 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

The 3 weeks our parents spent at Mount Ephraim House was everything we hoped it would be. The staff were so friendly, welcoming, caring and understanding and gave us the respite we all needed. The surroundings and facilities are excellent, making for a calm, relaxed, homely feel whilst emanating excellence. Mum and Dad were well looked after and cared for, and we were always warmly welcomed when we visited and made to feel part of the 'family'. We would recommend and will be happy to book further stays if and when it is needed. Thank you.

Review of Bucklers Lodge from Julie M (Daughter of Resident) published on 2 July 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience
At the end of last year following 3 emergency hospital admissions in June, August & October Mum had stopped eating & was in very poor health. Remarkably in December, Mum started eating again and is now in good health & able to enjoy her food and the home activities. The care, encouragement and perserverance of all the staff during this time cannot be understated. The support and communication with the family was also greatly appreciated.

Mum is very happy and content, thanks to all the staff from us all.

Reply from Juliet Gallop, General Manager at Bucklers Lodge

Review of Bucklers Lodge from Matt T (Nephew of Resident) published on 30 June 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience
We visited & researched a number of homes before placing our aunt into respite. The setting & location were perfect and the warmth of welcome & care has been a pleasure. The staff understand how difficult a time this is and dealt with everything very well.

Respite has turned into a permanent place and we are very happy.

Reply from Juliet Gallop, General Manager at Bucklers Lodge
