My husband has Alzheimer's and attended day care sessions at Rose Cottage for about a year. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, and he always enjoyed his time there. He didn't remember being there before, so each visit was like the first time and he was a little unsure going in, but he always
came out happy, in fact sometimes it was difficult to get him to leave! The staff were very caring and I would definitely recommend
Reply from Jennifer Dade, Registered Manager at Rose CottageThank you so much for your kind words, it truly means a lot to us to hear that your husband enjoys his time at the day centre and leaves feeling happy. We feel it is a privilege that you are confident he feels safe and well cared for each time.

In the very early hours of Saturday morning the nurse was worried about mums breathing so called paramedics. We didn't want mum to go to hospital with a chest infection and doctor came and left a prescription.
Speirs collected medication and by 8am mum had started antibiotics. By 8.30am she was sat
in her chair and by 9am staff helped her eat breakfast and lunch at midday.
The staff came in just to check on mum and say hello as they started work or during the day and also to make sure we were alright too. It's only 36hr later so mum is still being watched and helped but because of their attitude and dedication mum is doing wonderfully

Buckler's Lodge has provided an absolute lifeline to our family. My dad has dementia ad the care shown to him at Buckler's Lodge is wonderful. Knowing he is so well looked after is a great comfort to us. The care is amazing, but also the activitiesand engagement is brilliant. Music plays a large part
of the activities, with many people visiting the home to provide music that brings back wonderful memories for the residents. Every event in the year is celebrated and as a family we are very much encourgaed to be part of every day at Buckler's Lodge. A precious thing.

My Sister-in-Law has been a resident at Pelsall Hall since October 2021 having lived at home during COVID and not able to cope due to her dementia. Our visits have usually been unannounced and we have had a warm welcome from the Staff each time. Her room is spacious and all facilities are clean
and well maintained. Rosemary is always dressed well, her hair looking good and nails manicured. The Staff are very supportive listening to her and responding to her needs day or night. We are immediately contacted if they have any concerns. She enjoys joining in with the many activities put on by the Home and she always looks forward to her meals, cups of tea and reading the paper. The Home is spacious and has a lovely garden area where residents and family can meet during the summer months. We feel that she is safe and well looked after here. Thankyou to all the Staff.

I am so grateful to the staff at Torkington House for the wonderful care my Mum received during her last few years of life. Mum had always suffered with depression but during her time in the home she became happier than she had been in years because of the love that she received from staff that looked
after her. She had never eaten very well and despite 2 years of me trying to find ways to get her interested in eating I was unsuccessful. The team at Torkington House managed to get her eating again and she gained weight and became physically much healthier. The love that they showed my Mum made me cry on a number of occasions and when Mum died, several team members were also in tears - you can tell that they do not see their work as only a job and they form real bonds with the residents. I really cannot speak highly enough of the home and the amazing team that work there - they made my Mum's last years happier and healthier and allowed her to pass with dignity and love. Thank you all.
Reply from Esperanza Guidaven, Deputy Manager at Torkington HouseThank you so much for your kind and heartfelt words. It truly means a great deal to all of us to hear about your Mum's experience at Torkington House. It was an absolute privilege on our part to care for your Mum and to be part of her life. We're so glad that she found happiness, comfort, and renewed wellbeing during her time with us - that is always our greatest hope for every resident. Your message has been shared with the whole team, and it touched everyone deeply. The bonds we form with our residents and their families are very special to us and will always hold a place in our hearts. Your support during her stay with us is aways greatly appreciated. Thank you again for taking the time to share this. We are thinking of you and your family. You are more than welcome to visit Torkington House.

My mum moved in as a new resident early Nov 2025. She was worried about the move and not knowing anyone but this was necessary for her well being and safety due to dementia. I'm very pleased and impressed with the home, I stayed with mum on moving in day and had lunch to settle her in. We struggled
to settle her and the staff suggested we stay away for some days, which was very difficult for my father. It's very clean, the staff are always welcome and have really helped to settle mum to her new way of living. They made a wonderful job of throwing an afternoon tea party for my mum's 90th birthday and mid November. She's making a few friends and joins in with some of the activities eg singing to music. The food is excellent and we joined her for xmas day dinner. I do not live locally and now I can relax knowing my mum is being care for and is safe.

I spent 2 weeks here in respite care. The home was well staffed and the staff were well trained. Many residents had dementia and the staff were caring, compassionate and patient. It is a happy and supportive home, with attention given to well being and individual needs. The managers were very involved
in day to day caring, as were the chefs, the maintenance staff and ancillary staff. Everyone contributed to the well being and support of residents and their many needs. I have no
hesitation in recommending Tickford Abbey, particularly for those with complex needs.

Glebelands is a truly special place. Mum was a resident for nearly seven years, and from the moment she arrived, she wasn't just cared for-she was cared about.
The nurses and carers are exceptionally kind, treating every resident with the respect and dignity they deserve. This excellence extends to
the entire team - management, administration, domestic, catering, and facilities. The home is consistently clean and welcoming, set within beautiful, well-maintained grounds.
Beyond the care provided to my mother, the staff made me feel like part of the family. They went above and beyond to keep me updated on her wellbeing, and the time they took to chat or share a laugh made every visit a pleasure. The support I received throughout her stay, and particularly during her final days, was exceptional. Nothing was ever too much trouble for the team, and I am deeply grateful to everyone for the kindness and care shown to Mum and me.
I would not hesitate to recommend Glebelands.
Reply from Doina Hirta, Home Manager at GlebelandsThank you very much for taking the time to write this positive review . We are very pleased to hear that you felt included and informed throughout you mum's time with us . It's a very difficult to have to reach out to residential care to provide a home to your mum, we finally decided on Buckler's Lodge. Mum was a dementia patient for about a year. The care was adequate, the people personable, my brother and I decided to work with the staff even when we discovered the
bed still soiled on more than a few afternoon visits, medicine missed and personal items missing from her drawers. This does happen in care homes but as one of the most expensive I would expect something better. If you do decide on Bucklers Lodge don't be surprised by 10% annual fee increase due to 'cost of living'. We gave our notice and moved out, I incorrectly thought we would be paying the original fees in the month or so it took to move Mum. This was due to appalling comms. Greensleeves did not budge and insisted on getting their dementia resident to pay the full new invoice, no compromise whatsoever. I consider the attitude uncaring and greedy in the extreme. Good hot chocolate though.
Reply from Anthony Lane, Regional Manager at Bucklers LodgeThank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are very sorry that your experience did not meet the standards we aim to provide and appreciate you bringing this to our attention. Since your Mum lived here last year, the home has welcomed a highly experienced new General Manager who has led many positive improvements, and the service has stabilised significantly. The local authority has also recognised the progress and positive changes now in place. The fee increase referenced took place during a period of significant sector-wide cost pressures, including the Real Living Wage, increases in employers' National Insurance and utility costs we faced last year. As your Mum remained in the home after the annual increase took effect, the revised fee still applied to her. With costs now more stable, this year's fee increase at Buckler's Lodge is just 2%, which we believe is among the lowest locally. If you would like to discuss your experience further, please contact us directly.
