Probably, like many people, my mother was at a very low point, both physically and emotionally, when she decided to move into De Lucy. It would be fair to say that, since her move, she is thriving. Without the day to day worry of how to cope she is physically as well as possible and enjoying new friendships'
and experiences.
The care staff, both day and night are kind, thoughtful and treat the residents as individuals, with respect and dignity. Every member of staff, whatever their role is friendly, smiles and says hello.
The facilities are modern, clean, light and well maintained. Every part of the house is used and the accessible garden is a favourite. The staff take pride in their work and their environment.
There are activities to suit everyone, residents can join in with as much as they wish. New ideas are often tried, as well as finding new things to celebrate. Residents and staff love a party!
Knowing Mum is happy and well cared for is a great feeling for all the family.

My mother went to Broadacres in August 2021 after a very traumatic stay in hospital during COVID and not being able to return to her beloved home. Everyone at Broadacres was incredibly kind and understanding: becoming like friends to both of us over the intervening years - sharing many funny moments
and profound conversations until my mother's very sudden death at the end of December 2025. Staff have continued to be very lovely to me since. Cannot recommend them enough. Thank you.
Reply from Kim Lavery, Manager at Broadacres Care HomeWe love and miss you and mum dearly, thank you so much for a lovely review.

I and my family feel incredibly fortunate to have been offered a vacancy at Broadacres at the time when my Dad needed it. There is a very homely and sociable atmosphere there. The rooms are spacious and well arranged around the hub of the lounge and dining room. There are views of the beautiful gardens
and plenty of light pouring in. The staff are on duty 24/7. They could not be more caring and helpful and have always been present and available to talk or help with our needs when we visit. The staff are also proactive, getting him involved in activities he is enjoying and I do feel that my Dad is living his best life possible at this time.
Very happy, thank you!

Entire home is immaculate. Never smells. Laundry facilities are excellent. Care and attentiveness very good. Sometimes the food could be better (warmer or fully cooked, softer) but this has been notified. All in all excellent all round. Entertainment, friendliness, choice of outings and activities.

De Lucy provided nanny with the highest standards of care and concern and made her time at the home as comfortable as possible. Nothing was too much to ask from the staff and they all treated her like one of the family. We were also made to feel very welcome to visit whenever we pleased. The peace and
dignity she received was perfect.

Broadacres was recommended to us when we realised mum was going to need full time residential care after a number of hospital stays. I have to say that the staff have been nothing short of amazing since we first engaged with them. They have been so kind and provided the very best of care, easing the
transition from independent living to care home with understanding and compassion. While still early days I think Mum will be happy at Broadacres, and as a family we can rest easier knowing that she's in safe hands in a beautiful location that's more akin to a country house hotel. Finally I also have to give a mention to the extra effort the catering team have gone to in accommodating Mum's food preferences. The food served is excellent and one of the reasons the transition is going so well.

My Mother of 97 has spent the final 2 years of her life with De Lucy House. She was a reluctant resident to begin with, but was offer so much care and love it was impossible for her not to settle and be comfortable.
She has now passed away with so much dignity and with such peace.
I will forever
be grateful to the whole team for all that they have done for my Mother and Myself

My dads autumn years were filled with care, love and friendship. De Lucy's is a family where not only the resident is made to feel welcome but also the extended family. All staff from reception, management, care domestic and laundry could not have been more helpful. We as a family are truly grateful.

Both my parents have been at De Lucy for nearly 4 years. Although they have very different needs, both are treated with kindness, compassion and care. The staff are brilliant and take their time to fully understand the requirements of all the residents. Many go beyond what their job requires of them.

Always when I visited I was impressed with all aspects of how the home was run. Calmness, professionalism, staff on hand to answer any questions. A nursing or care home is only as good as the staff working in it. The staff I came into contact with were lovely. Even more so at the end of life time.

Overall this is an excellent care home with very kind and friendly staff who are very helpful and good humoured. The home is very professionally managed with very organised activities and good support from the local NHS. Residents are treated with patience and compassion. Although getting entry as a
visitor can sometimes be slow and the food is apparently not always serviced as hot it is could be. I am overall very pleased with the service provided. I do however wish it was less expensive.
Reply from Lauren Tubby, Registered Manager at De Lucy HouseThank you for your review and taking the time to feedback. We will take your comments onboard and look to improve the service where you have highlighted.

I cannot recommend De Lucy Care Home enough. From the day my great aunt moved in she was given compassion and care. The manager is lovely and the staff are amazing and kind. The home itself is spotless clean and the amount of activity's on offer is amazing. I visited everyday and was made to feel at
home and like one of the family. When my aunt sadly passed away the manager sat with me and reassured me all would be ok. The respect they showed my aunt after her passing was also way beyond what i expected. I cannot thank them enough for all they done for my aunt and also me.
