Mum has been at the Home for two years plus her Care has been excellent. The staff have been amazing and the Care has been over and above and when we chose this Home we we didn't know what it was going to be like and it's been a lovely surprise because it's been amazing. The food is good. The care is
good and so glad we bought Mum here and can I please book my place for when I'm old enough or when I'm ready thank you.

My mum recently broke her ankle after a fall. The carers were brilliant at making her comfortable before she went to hospital and did a fantastic job welcoming her back to the care home when she was discharged. They encouraged her to regain her independence and yet were supportive when she needed to
be helped.
Thank you and Well done Borovere staff.

Mum has been in Borovere care home for 4 years and 8 months and I can honestly say that during that time, all of the staff are lovely and treat and support Mum very well. She often comments to me that she is happy in the care home and everyone is so nice to her so I shouldn't worry about her. There
are staff who are responsible for providing a program of activities for the residents, which they do with enthusiasm. Mum is encouraged to join in with the activities, or when she prefers, she can stay in her room. There is no pressure either way. The grounds and building are maintained very well. During the time that Mum has been there, there has been a program of improvements which include replacing the carpet in the main lounge to installing fencing around the grass area to make it secure for the residents, as well as many other improvements. Mum has had two operations while being a resident in the home and both times the care home have done all they can to care for her on her return.
Reply from Karen Manager, Shepperdson at BorovereThank you so much for the lovely comments, its always nice to hear good things especially when someone has been with us for a while. I shall pass your kind words on to the staff as I know they will appreciate the feedback.

The staff have always looked after my aunt well and treat her and other patients as individuals. There is a wide range of activities and a good ratio if staff to residents. Management staff are responsive and everyone comes across as caring and genuinely interested in their work. From my observation
staff really try to give residents the best possible quality of life.

My Mum has just completed a 3 week respite stay at Borovere following a hospital admission. At her initial assessment in the hospital and throughout her stay she received excellent care with a professional, friendly, personalised and empathetic approach. The willingness of the staff to be flexible
when managing her preferences and needs in order to make her feel welcome and "at home" was second to none. She has coeliac disease and her gluten-free diet was readily accommodated The activities programme was varied and well-delivered.
The atmosphere in the care home is lovely- really homely and happy.
Communication with management and care staff was easy and all queries received a prompt and efficient response.
We have already booked a future respite stay and I would have no hesitation in recommending Borovere to others needing either respite or a permanent placement.
Reply from Karen Manager, Shepperdson at BorovereHello Alison,Thank you so much for the lovely review you have left, it can be a daunting time for someone coming into a care home for the first time so I am glad that her experience (and yours) was a good one. we look forward to her return visit at the end of the month.

Mum really enjoyed her two years and eight months at Borovere.
She settled well and found it a gracious, friendly and very pleasant place to live.
She loved the happy atmosphere in the lounge with the cheerful activities coordinators, spending most of her time there.
The manager and carers were
very kind, professional and friendly and the senior carers looked after her medical needs so well.
The support staff too were always so nice to Mum, who benefitted so much from the pleasant daily pattern of the days with homely coffee, tea and bedtime drinks between good meals in the pleasant dining room.
Her many family visitors were always welcomed by the staff who were very helpful in arranging visits for those travelling from far and near.
When she was mobile, she was taken out to community events which she enjoyed very much.
The family were so kindly supported throughout her time and we are very thankful that we chose Borovere!
Reply from Karen Shepperdson, Home Manager at BorovereThank you so much for your kind words, Mum was a very much loved lady and a pleasure to care for whilst at Borovere and as a family, you were all so supportive of Mum and also of any changes that were required to keep Mum comfortable. It was a pleasure and a privilege to care for Mum.

My mym's time at Borovere was lovely. The staff were kind, caring, sensitive and considerate to my mum's needs. My mum was there for two and a half years, and I never had any concerns for the care they gave her. The manager is the key member of staff. She runs an excellent home, and the staff respect

Mum settled quickly. After a couple of weeks, she stopped asking when she was coming home. The staff introduced her to other residents and helped her join in the activities making her feel secure. Mum began eating normal food again after being on a liquid diet. I was kept informed by phone of any changes
even though I visit every week. Mum laughed and joked with the staff and began to have a new lease of life at 101. She was taken out and enjoyed all the activities and visits from organisations. I am so pleased we chose Borovere Care Home.

Mum has now been in Borovere for a few months and has settled in really well. The staff are so kind and caring; she speaks well of everyone.
We wanted a small tea party for Mum's 97th birthday, and the team were really helpful. They arranged the lounge for us with drinks and a birthday cake and also
heated up the items that we brought in. They were on hand for anything we needed on the day.
There's always a nice atmosphere in the home, and being smaller, it has a cosy and personal feel compared to some of the larger ones I have visited.
Reply from Karen Shepperdson, Home Manager at BorovereThank you so much for the review; we do try and make it as homely as we can, especially when there is a special occasion to celebrate. I am glad Mum was able to have so many friends and family with her for her day.

We chose Borovere for Mum as it was smaller in scale and had a warm, homely atmosphere. The permanent and agency staff are excellent: kind and caring. They dealt with Mum's increasing personal needs with sensitivity. There are varied activities for those that want them and a good choice of food.
Reply from Karen Shepperdson, Home Manager at BorovereIt was very kind of you to submit a review for the home; Mum was only with us for a short time, but it was a pleasure to care for her, she was always very grateful for any help she was given and very respectful.

We visited my sister on her birthday. She was lively and happy throughout our visit, particularly when the care home staff joined us for a few minutes, producing a birthday cake as well as presents and cards signed by more than a dozen staff and residents. This made her day complete, and we left feeling
really glad that she was living among such nice people.
Reply from Karen Shepperdson, Home Manager at BorovereThank you so much for your kind review, which I will share with the team. We are delighted that your sister had such an enjoyable birthday.
