Our mother has been a resident at Meadowcroft for 15 months and has always been treated with conspicuous care and dignity. Her health and care requirements have been regularly assessed and appropriate changes made to her support. Despite a number of changes in key management positions, day to day care has been excellent.

The support from all staff at The Meadowcroft over the last few days has been outstanding. It has been a difficult time due to our relative's health taking a downturn, but everyone has been very attentive and compassionate towards us and our relative.

My cousin, Brian, was suffering from cancer and spent the last two months of his life at your lovely home. As I live overseas I was only able to visit him once (other family members were there everyday) but I found the home had a lovely atmosphere, his room was nice and airy, the staff were very friendly (especiallyJaqueline who was with him the day I visited), and although he wasn't too aware of my visit I felt he was in no discomfort or pain, due to the good care he was receiving.

Reply from The Meadowcroft, team at The Meadowcroft

Dear Fiona, we are very pleased to hear about your positive experience while we looked after Brian. We take special pride in supporting our residents and families through end of life moments and it was a real privilege being part of your family's journey. We'll be sure to share your kind words with the team.

It's never easy to see a loved one deteriorate anytime but when it is over a short period of time and been faced with finding full-time care, the right home is paramount. We were fortunate that our Mum wanted to be in a familiar area so when we visited Meadowcroft, we knew that this was the best choice for her. Coming out of hospital after 6 months our Mum was bed-bound for the first time in her life. Mum has now been here for 4 months and she is already going into her chair every day looking out into the beautiful garden. All is possible because of the support of her wonderful care team. Mum's wellbeing has greatly improved since she has been here and she is looking forward to joining their many activities and enjoying the beautiful space around her. Meadowcroft is a modern home with great core values and with a Manager whose view of success is centred around providing exceptional care and the happiness of their residents. We feel very blessed to have found such a wonderful home for Mum.

The staff is amazing with the residents. My friend is well looked after and that's a relief for me knowing him in a good place. I live in France and I know that I can count on the carers to give the best care and kindness to my friend.

We are so grateful for the care and kindness shown to our father over the last year. He settled in immediately and has always felt at home. The staff take great care to ensure his wishes are respected and he is treated with dignity. He has benefitted from socialising with other residents and with some of the activities such as concerts when he is well enough to participate. This engagement was not possible when he was being cared for at home. We have always felt happy that he is safe and well cared for and so do not worry about him when we are not there. His move to Meadowcroft has given us relief from the worry and management of his care. He has benefited from feeling safe and the stimulation from the home's community alongside the great care.

Meadowcroft has been fantastic. Having viewed several other care homes, this one is simply the best. The care the staff show is exceptional and brings a lighter mood to an otherwise potentially depressing situation.

Overall Experience

The Meadowcroft has been the most fantastic care home. It is a newly built home and replaces Ronald Gibson House, which was also fantastic. The staff team are wonderful and caring. I couldn’t have asked for more for my magnificent mum. They provided top-class care for my mum for over 7 years. Due to the complexity of my mum’s needs, this wasn’t her first care home but it was most certainly the best. My family and I just wish we had found it earlier.

Sadly my Mum passed away in June but it was a great comfort that she was back home at The Meadowcroft surrounded by those that knew and loved her. We will be forever grateful to the team for their love and care of our mum. They became an extension of our family. An added bonus is that the new build is a beautiful environment with lots of facilities but for us the most important thing has been the love, care and heart of the home.
