My stay at Grosvenor House following a hip replacement operation was my first experience of staying in a care home although I have been to numerous care homes in the Hastings area playing the piano for a local choir. All of the staff were friendly and encouraging during my recovery. It is a good location with sea views and adjacent gardens. I was really pleased that my dog was able to come into the home with a visitor and she was enthusiastically welcomed by staff. Requests for help were always responded to promptly at any time of the day or night. I would have no hesitation in recommending Grosvenor House.
It was a pleasure to have you stay with us to help with your convalescence and wish you well for the future
My Mum has recently been In for respite the care she has received has been exceptional. All the staff are kind, helpful, friendly and caring. The home has a wonderful homely feel to it. The food and cleanliness of the home is excellent. There is always something to do each day to keep them occupied. I would recommend the home to family and friends. My Mums stay was good for her and she would go back in the future.
Thank you so much for your kind words. It was an absolute pleasure to have mum stay with us. We wish her well and may see you all again in the future.
Very satisfied with every aspect of Grosvenor House. We moved mum in there a few weeks ago and can't believe how happy she is. At last we feel mum is well cared for in every way, and we can relax knowing she is in safe hands. Mum had a medical problem shortly after moving in and the staff took action immediately and continue very regular checks All the staff are kind, patient and professional. Because it is not a big corporate home, it's easy to get to know all of the staff by name, and feels very friendly and personal. She loves her really large sunny room with 'the best view in St Leonards' and the fact that she's got a lot of her furniture, so it looks and feels like home. The manager drove to Wiltshire to assess mum in person which was amazing. Her special dietary needs are always catered for and the food is very good. Communication is excellent, it's easy to call and speak to staff, and we feel well informed about everything that happens to mum. Couldn't be better!
Thank you for your lovely review. We are pleased to welcome mum into the Grosvenor family and hope she settles in well.
The staff are really caring and friendly.
My mother is very happy there and has been a resident for over a year.
The location and views are great.
The food is of a high quality and always well presented..
Thank for your kind words. It is a pleasure to have mum stay with us
I would thoroughly recommend this care home to anyone looking for good quality, person centered care. It has good facilities and is part of Greensleeves Care which operates a number of care homes on a not for profit basis, so you can be confident that care of your loved one is the top priority. There is also the reassurance that Grosvenor House is part of a larger group of care homes, and has a Good CQC rating.
It is a pleasure to have your mum stay with us. Thanks to you communication has been easier due to the support you gave/give especially when she first arrived with us.
Mum's health has deteriorated and she is now bed bound but the care is still so very caring and loving and they are doing all they can to make her comfortable.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Grosvenor to anyone.
Thank you all so much for everything you do. You are a great team.
Thank you for your kind words. Living far away from your loved ones is not easy. I will express your thanks to all the team.
Through times of good health and when it has not been so bright, my mother-in-law has always received kind, sensitive and loving care. As family, we have also benefited from all the management and care team thinking of our needs too. From catering to housekeeping and from the care team to entertainment, we are so pleased we selected Grosvenor House as the home from home.
Thank you Chris for your kind words. Much appreciate and we are thankful to have your mother-in-law stay with us.
Mum has been a resident at the Grosvenor for 2 years. She chose the Grosvenor because her friend was also a resident and had been very happy here. During her stay mum has been treated with kindness and dignity. She says the food is always excellent. The views from her room are fabulous, overlooking the south coast. The care home is clean and well run. The residents needs and wishes are prioritised. The staff are very kind and friendly. Many thanks to Mandy and her staff.
Thank you Sonia for your kind words. It is a pleasure to have mum stay with us.
My nan has been here since October. Despite her reservations regarding making the difficult move to a home she has been very pleasantly surprised. She tells me every visit how happy she is and that I couldn't have found her anywhere nicer! This is a massive relief to me! All the staff are amazing and really do care. Nans room is very comfortable and spacious. She says the food is lovely and that they are always eating! A big thank you to Mandy and her team.
Thank you Paula for your lovely comments. Nan has settled so well and it is as though she has been with us along time.
Amazing place, amazing people! 10/10!
Thank you for your comment. We feel very humbled and pleased to have your loved one stay with us.
We are so pleased that nan has settled in brilliantly in Grosvenor House. The staff are amazing! So caring and nothing is too much trouble. She was reluctant to go into a residential home but now wishes she'd done it years ago.
Nan has settled so well and has become a big part in the Grosvenor family and we feel honoured that she chose to reside with us.
My mother had been in Grosvenor House for four years. In this last year, she suffered ill health. First with Covid at the beginning of the year which we didn't expect her to survive at 97 but with the excellent care of the staff she recovered to enjoy the activities and outings around the garden. Mum didn't really recover her appetite and slowly declined until eventually she could not eat or drink and was on palliative care. The staff were amazing and ensured she was comfortable at all times, treating her with dignity and respect even when she was unresponsive. Calling in medical staff to ensure she was pain-free. In the last days of Mum's life, I received incredible support from the home, nothing was too much trouble. I stayed with Mum for three days and nights. I couldn't recommend Grosvenor House more, brilliant.
It has been a pleasure and an honour to have Mum stay with us and getting to know you and the family. At Grosvenor, we strive to give the best personal, individual care to our residents and I am overwhelmed by the comments you have made. The support you have given the home has been amazing and we thank you for that.
The is always a warm and friendly welcome from senior staff at reception and a willingness to discuss any issues or concerns. Whenever staff come into mom-in-law's room, they greet her with a smile and kindness, including the cleaners, laundry and maintenance staff as well as carers and she is always treated with dignity and respect.
Thank you for a lovely review. We always endeavour to use dignity and respect at all times and try to make the home feel warm and friendly.
My mother is well cared for and the staff communicate with her and are always aware of her needs. The home always appears clean and tidy and the dining area is well laid out and tables are easily accessible. Management staff can be readily available to answer any queries or problems with my mother's care. There are problems at times with staffing and responses can be a little slow, a problem it would seem to be also in other care homes. A single left to serve all floors at times also seems rather inadequate.
Thank you for your kind review, I am delighted that you feel your mother is well cared for at Grosvenor House and that staff are always aware of her needs. I’m also pleased that you have found the home accessible and well presented. I am sorry that you feel staff response times have been slow on...
We have always found the staff very helpful and friendly and they interact with the residents well. There are always activities going on. The food is very good and menus are varied and interesting. The building is always spotlessly clean and has a fresh smell.
We endeavour to look at and improve on activities for which all residents like and when weather permits lovely walks around the park and sea front. We have season menus for which residents have a say on what they would like to see on them. Thank you for your kind remarks.
My mother has only been in Grosvenor House for six weeks now, but she is settling in well and is joining in with activities. She has a lovely bright room with a fabulous view of the sea. The staff are very kind and helpful. I would have no hesitation in recommending this home.
Thank you for your lovely comment. We are glad Mum is settling well and enjoying her stay.
Visits to my sister are so infrequent that it is not possible for me to express any meaningful comment except to say that my sister always appears very satisfied with the home.
It is a pleasure having your sister stay with us, and nice to see you when you bring her paper.
The staff are friendly and approachable, very easy to talk to. Mym always praises the care she receives and appreciates the time they spend to chat to her.
Activities are well-organised and they are encouraged to join in. Mum became a little reclusive last year but with a chat with the staff, they encouraged her to join in which helped her immensely.
Thank you for your kind review. It is really good to see Mum back out and joining in with activities, especially when it is a cooking activity as it always brings back memories.
Grosvenor House has provided excellent care for my dad. He has been there for 3 years and staff have enabled him to remain active and maintain his hobbies of gardening, jigsaws and scrabble, this has been so important him. He has been looked after by a team of caring, patient staff who have been brilliant and I owe them a very big thank you.
Thank you for your lovely comments. Dad has a very good eye when it comes to jigsaws, especially when completing the 3D ones. We are really pleased that he's able to maintain his hobbies. He also plays an active role in the activity and gardening meetings. It's hard to believe it has been 3 years already, time goes by so quickly.
My mother has been at Grosvenor House for nearly a year now and is extremely contented and relaxed with her surroundings and with the care she receives from every level of the care team, from the manager down. Increasing mobility issues had made her almost a recluse, but now she has a range of activities brought to her, whilst access to the park outside the door also provides her with a safe space in which to take herself for a walk and enjoy some fresh air. There will always be issues at this time of life, but each has been dealt with promptly and with great kindness.
We are really pleased mum has settled well here at Grosvenor House. Weather permitting Mum is one of the first to go around the park or for a walk down the shops, which she thoroughly enjoys. Thank you for your lovely review it means a lot to us.

Meet the Team (5)

We encourage residents to maximise on their abilities and assist them with their respective needs.
We have an open door approach, even if it is just someone dropping in to see what we are all about.

I have worked at Grosvenor House since 2016 and in the catering industry since I was 17 years old.
In my working career, I have had the opportunity of both integrating in a front-of-house manner with the public and also behind the scenes, preparing and designing original and nutritious menus. Grosvenor House, I am delighted to say, fulfils both of these passions and hence provides me with immense job satisfaction.

“I joined Grosvenor House as a carer and did that for 10 years before moving to the domestic team in late 2025. It feels like my true calling, combining caring with cleaning. I love seeing the residents, and I’m very proud to work here. After 22 years in care, this home is the best by far – small, homely and a place where you can really deliver personalised care.”

“I started in care in 2013 and joined Grosvenor in January 2022. I work mostly night shifts with some days too – the flexibility really works for my life. My favourite part is looking after the residents. It’s they who pay my wages, not my employer, and they deserve the very best of my care. Nights are a big responsibility, but support is always a phone call away.”

Before joining Grosvenor House, I worked in a nursing home for eight years.
I am originally from the Philippines, where I studied for a practical nursing qualification, which is equivalent to an NVQ level 3.
I like working at Grosvenor House due to the environment and the people. Elvie said that "there's a real sense of teamwork and everybody helps each other"
And also, the residents and their families are really friendly too!
