Broadlands is a lovely place to come and visit my relative, friendly happy staff, well maintained, clean, they involve everyone in lots of daily activities. and very attentive to my nannys care.
My mother has lived at Broadlands for 8 1/2 years. Her health has steadily deteriorated during that time, as could be expected for a 92 year old. However, the care here has been consistently excellent, not only for her physical well-being, but also mental and emotional health. All staff show compassion and one has even used her Sundays off to collect Mum and take her to church. He family are kept well informed of the quality of her daily life and of any problems. The home has a lovely caring atmosphere and is brilliantly managed.
Thank you so much for your lovely comments. It is our pleasure to look after your Mum.
My sister seems comfortable, being well looked after, clean and tidy. The staff do their very best to encourage her to join in with all of the activities so that she gets the best out of life that Broadlands can offer. Thank you Broadlands.
Thank you for your comments, we love having your sister here with us.
We cannot be more grateful for the excellant care given to our aunt throughout the 4 years that she was resident at Broadlands. All the management staff are so kind and friendly and everyone is treated as family. We were also so grateful for the lengths Broadlands went to to enable our aunt to return there in her last few weeks rather than remain in hospital. She could not have had better care.
Thank you for your lovely review. It was our pleasure to look after your aunt, she is greatly missed.
In the 6 months since Mum has been a resident of Broadlands we have seen an improvement in her wellbeing & engagement with friends & family. The care home staff have been welcoming & supportive to both Mum & our family. This has resulted in a smooth move into the home. All the home staff seem comitted to giving all the residents good care in a quality environment. Its great to feel such a wellcoming atmosphere & cooperation working.
Thank you very much for your review and lovely comments.
My mother has resided at Broadlands for over 2 years. During this time both she & I have been reasonably happy with her care & treatment at the home. The one issue that I have is the increase in residential care fees, whilst I realise that costs increase for all of us, I feel that over double the national inflation rate for both last year 24/25 & this 25/26 is excessive.
Thank you for your review, we understand concerns about fee increases and always strive to keep them as low as possible. The 2025-26 review reflects rising costs affecting the entire care sector, including higher Real Living Wage rates, National Insurance contributions, and general cost-of-living...
The most important thing of all was, 'he was happy'
It was our pleasure to look after Dad. He will be greatly missed.
The staff moved very swiftly in getting my mother into the residential home. Once in everyone were most helpful any made the transition easy. Anything we asked for was provided. Advice and help was always very useful and freely given. Thank you all very much.
Thank you for your lovely words. We love having your mother with us and is our pleasure to care for her.
My wonderful aunt recently passed away after several years at Broadlands. From the moment we visited we knew this was going to be her forever home. From the warmth of the community and carers, the magnificent gardens, the activities, food and care she received we never had anything other than great experiences .
It was our absolute pleasure to look after your aunt, she will be missed so greatly.
My mother died in Broadlands at the end of March, having resided there for almost 5 years. There is nothing that the management or staff could have done to improve the care and love provided. From day one, everyone was wonderful. My mother was not easy but Broadlands treated her with the utmost respect, patience and dignity to the very end. I, and my family have been treated likewise. It is clearly a vocation to the staff. The end of life care was perfection. Thank you.
Thank you for your kind words. It was our pleasure to care for your mother and to become part of your family.
As I live abroad, it is such a relief to know she is content and settled and, as she herself says, couldn´t be in a better, happier place.
So many thanks to the Broadland team.
Thank you for your lovely comments. It's our pleasure to look after your Mum.
Our dad died recently at Broadlands at the age of 106. Initially, he went to Broadlands for a two-week respite period but it was so successful that he decided to stay and it wasn't long until he began to refer to it as "home". He had two very contented years there and it made for a very happy last chapter to his long life. He always spoke so highly of all the staff and said he felt looked after with what felt like love. The house is very comfortable and well-maintained and the garden leading down to the Broads is really beautiful. There are activities twice a day as well as trips and visits from various entertainers and others from the local community. Mealtimes feel almost restaurant-like with high-standard, home-cooked food. All the staff were warm and welcoming and there was a lot of laughter and fun. There was always someone to talk to and something going on. We felt able to trust staff to care for Dad and communication with us was excellent. We highly recommend Broadlands.
Thank you, Susan, for your lovely comments, it was our absolute pleasure to care for Dad.
I have just spent a month here after a stay in hospital. I can't praise Broadlands enough. The staff are kind and caring, from the cleaners to the kitchen staff and everyone in between. The food is excellent and well-cooked. The grounds are amazing and so well cared for. All in all 100% satisfied.
Thank you for your lovely comments, it was our absolute pleasure to care for you, Diane.
The ambience and environment of Broadlands are one of a well-kept family home. The Edwardian house is set in well-manicured gardens with spectacular views over Oulton Broad.
All efforts have been made to create a comfortable and homely atmosphere and provision for a deep sense of community and caring support, above and beyond what might be expected.
The professionalism, kindness, and attentiveness of the staff combine to offer a safe and loving space for my mother and her fellow residents. As importantly, regular activities have been designed to enhance residents' physical, and mental health and their quality of life.
In summary, I cannot praise Broadlands and its staff highly enough.
Thank you, Broadlands!

My uncle is in this wonderful care home and is so happy there, you can't get better looked after! Excellent food, treatment, care, everyone is so lovely always with a smile and the carers treat everyone with dignity and respect as well as visitors, would recommend this care home to everyone, everything is kept immaculately clean and always smells so lovely, which is so nice, the whole place is like staying in a first-class hotel!
Thank you so much, we are so pleased you enjoy your visits.
We couldn't have found a better home for Mum. They truly deserve their outstanding rating. Everyone goes the extra mile, and all the staff are amazing!
Thank you for your lovely comments; we are so pleased Mum is happy!
Mum is very happy at Broadlands, looks on it as her home. Staff always friendly and caring, goes that extra mile. Place is always spotless and smells fresh, gardens are a pleasure and outlook outstanding. Mum is treated with respect and dignity. Couldn't ask for more. Thank you to everyone involved.
Thank you for your lovely comments, its our pleasure to look after your Mum!
I was welcomed into the home by friendly staff. The home is situated in an ideal, beautiful location. It is kept clean and tidy. The staff obviously care a great deal for the clients which was apparent with their relationships I experienced, e.g. chatting with a lady in the day room and the lady who accompanied me to my mother's room, updated me on her overall condition with recent changes. The room is made very personal to my mum. She had plenty to drink and a printed menu for the day. Treat well. Just had to sign in and walk through the door, could have slipped through.
Thank you for your lovely comments, your feedback is very much appreciated.
My family can never thank the staff enough for the kindness and support you gave to my dad the past year and particularly the past few weeks. Not only the high dependency staff who delivered outstanding care but the whole team, including activity coordinators, admin staff, kitchen staff, laundry staff, cleaners and grounds team, who always went the extra mile and treated both my dad and us with the greatest respect and dignity. We are so grateful his final time here was in such a comfortable and caring setting.

Meet the Team (6)

I have an extremely dedicated and committed team who all deliver person centred care. We work together in our residents’ home supporting them to “live the rest of their lives” to the full Each one of our residents’ is an individual and their wishes, choices and preferences are always respected. We offer a “home” for life.
My personal philosophy is that we are privileged to work in our residents’ “home” and look after our residents’ as we would our own family. Relatives and friends are always welcome. I am very approachable, along with the rest of my management team and we are always happy to help.
The best medicine is a smile and laughter, and you are always guaranteed that at Broadlands.

I started at Broadlands in August 2009 and feel my role has grown together with my special relationship with all our residents and families alike. Every day is a new day which brings some challenges but enables me to ensure the best care and support is given to our residents which enhances not only their health but also their wellbeing.

Broadlands has been a part of my busy life for nearly 20 years and has become part of my extended family. When not at Broadlands I am busy looking after my two children, teaching health and social care, playing hockey and socialising with friends.

I hadn’t worked in a care home before coming to Broadlands, I find my role to be thoroughly fulfilling, and I wouldn’t want to work anywhere else. As each day finishes I know that I have made a difference in each and every one of our residents’ lives.

I have worked at Broadlands for 18 years and have seen many changes. The home has grown but it has never lost its family feel. I still say that it is not like coming to work but just visiting a friend, helping out and then going home. Outside of work, I love being around family and looking after my grandchildren.

I have worked at Broadlands for most of my working life. I love my role and I pride myself on our dining experience and person centred approach. I get to know all of our residents and cater for their individual needs and welcome them all into our home.
