This was the Queen's birthday party and one can only say what a wonderful afternoon it was. The food and presentation was second to none, the staff and helpers were so friendly and helpful, smiling faces everywhere, you couldn't ask for more, what a lovely afternoon, thank you. We visit our friend on a regular basis and the home is always very clean with a smiling welcome from all the staff. A credit to you all. Well done.
I have been visiting my friend at Broadlands for the past year and a half not knowing anything about care homes. Very impressed with everything I have seen. Nothing is a problem for the staff from manager, carers, kitchen staff, garden staff, maintenance and entertainments lady. These people make the home a happy home. I have never heard a bad word said anywhere in this home, there is only kind words for residents and visitors. If all your homes are as good as Broadlands , they must be good homes.
Communication between Broadlands and ourselves is good. Management and staff organise and assist at events, this is commendable and appreciated.
Always take good care of my aunt. Always very welcoming. Always provide a variety of activities and provide a varied and tasteful menu choice. We feel happy our aunt lives there.
We have just had the most enjoyable Queens 90th Birthday celebration at Broadlands. As always we were well looked after and made very welcome. Broadlands always exceeds expectations and looks after everyone so well.
My dad spent the last 2 years of his life at this wonderful residential home. The 12 months waiting list was well worth it. The care of the staff in all areas was outstanding. The beautiful gardens, activities and friendliness of the staff was outstanding. They even tried to get him back from hospital for the last week of his life. They couldn't have done more for him. He was so happy there and I would highly recommend the home.
The beautiful grounds, garden and facilities are first class and a real joy for the residents and visitors. I have no hesitation in recommending this wonderful care home to anyone considering full time care for older family members.
My mother has been in Broadlands for four years and she has always been well cared for. The staff are all very pleasant and make everyone, both visiting and residents feel extremely welcome. There are plenty of activities for resident to take part in if they so wish. We are able to visit whenever we wish and also to stay for meals.
I have been in respite here for six months, mainly last year. The atmosphere is extremely good. The carers and rest of the team work together well. The food is good, the rooms have all the facilities required and I have been supported well in every aspect. The environment is beautiful, particularly the garden and I feel all opinions are considered and acted upon. I think the tick boxes tell you how impressed I am with the care and positive attitude here.

Meet the Team (6)

I have an extremely dedicated and committed team who all deliver person centred care. We work together in our residents’ home supporting them to “live the rest of their lives” to the full Each one of our residents’ is an individual and their wishes, choices and preferences are always respected. We offer a “home” for life.
My personal philosophy is that we are privileged to work in our residents’ “home” and look after our residents’ as we would our own family. Relatives and friends are always welcome. I am very approachable, along with the rest of my management team and we are always happy to help.
The best medicine is a smile and laughter, and you are always guaranteed that at Broadlands.

I started at Broadlands in August 2009 and feel my role has grown together with my special relationship with all our residents and families alike. Every day is a new day which brings some challenges but enables me to ensure the best care and support is given to our residents which enhances not only their health but also their wellbeing.

Broadlands has been a part of my busy life for nearly 20 years and has become part of my extended family. When not at Broadlands I am busy looking after my two children, teaching health and social care, playing hockey and socialising with friends.

I hadn’t worked in a care home before coming to Broadlands, I find my role to be thoroughly fulfilling, and I wouldn’t want to work anywhere else. As each day finishes I know that I have made a difference in each and every one of our residents’ lives.

I have worked at Broadlands for 18 years and have seen many changes. The home has grown but it has never lost its family feel. I still say that it is not like coming to work but just visiting a friend, helping out and then going home. Outside of work, I love being around family and looking after my grandchildren.

I have worked at Broadlands for most of my working life. I love my role and I pride myself on our dining experience and person centred approach. I get to know all of our residents and cater for their individual needs and welcome them all into our home.
