Broadlands care home in Oulton Broad, Lowestoft, is a charming care home rated Outstanding by the care industry regulator Care Quality Commission. The home is owned and operated by Greensleeves Care, a charitable organisation providing care for older people.

The care home offers hotel style accommodation and is situated in Lowestoft on the Norfolk Broads.

Staff provide care to meet individual residents' requirements and receive ongoing training in all aspects of care. Accommodation is provided in en-suite bedrooms. The home’s ‘Broad View’ restaurant has exceptional views across the Broads and a delicious menu.

After a very bad experience with another care home, I managed to get my mum a place with Broadlands. Mum came to them, as an angry, slightly broken lady, from her previous experience. They assured me, they would get her spirit back and that’s exactly what they did. Within two weeks, Mum was settled
and happy. It was wonderful to see. I was so impressed at the constant evaluation of Mum's needs and care, even the small things, like looking at how her slippers supported her feet and suggesting what would be better for her. My mum can be a tricky character, however, they embraced that and encouraged her to enjoy herself and join in, making her laugh, and showing her love.
After spending time there now that Covid restrictions allow, I truly see what a remarkable place this is. The interaction of the care staff, not only with my mum but other residents, is wonderful. This is a place full of devoted, professional people and the love and care is there for all to see. A very grateful son, here.

It was Mum's 89th birthday. Eighty family members gathered together in a room provided to celebrate with her. This was the first time we were able to all be together with her for almost two years due to covid. The staff were brilliant. They made sure Mum looked her best, dressing her up and doing her
hair. They were keen to look after us too, making sure we had everything we needed and making drinks for us. Mum always loved having her family around her and this made her day very special for her. A good time was had by all. Thank you so much.

My relative has been in Broadlands for a year now. Broadlands have transformed her life. She was terribly frail and was struggling with her memory, forgetting if she had eaten or had a drink and was very underweight. She is now a picture of health, has put on weight and enjoying every day of her life.
We are all amazed at how different she is and it's all down to Broadlands, wonderful care to attention. Nothing is too much trouble. We all appreciate everything that Broadlands do for her, especially so through this pandemic, keeping everyone updated. Everywhere is beautifully clean and members of staff are extremely polite.

My uncle lived at Broadlands for five years. During that time he was treated as one of the family. His individual care and needs were always well provided and supported both with activities at the home and his personal choices. The staff are exceptional I cannot thank them enough for all the care and

What a wonderful home! From the moment Mum was greeted by smiling faces at the door on the day she arrived, she felt at home and for us, as a family, we knew it was right. It is such a happy home and the staff were like extended family members not only to Mum but to us too. They treat everyone with
such care and compassion. Mum loved the activities and the wonderful meals that are on offer. She loved it there. Unfortunately, Mum's time at Broadlands was cut short due to a sudden deterioration in her health. During her last few days, again the staff dealt with her care with dignity and great kindness and supported us too. Even though it was for a short period of time, Mum always said it was home from home and as a family, we couldn't agree more. We would highly recommend Broadlands.

My Mum and Aunt have been residents in Broadlands for over 3 years and the care afforded to them has been exemplary. The facilities and beautiful setting make this a very special place.
The attention given by all members of staff, regardless of seniority, is of the highest standard.

This COVID
year we have truly missed all the usual wonderful celebrations which give staff, residents and relatives the opportunity to mix together socially, either to fundraise or celebrate special occasions. Relatives and other visitors are always made to feel welcome. It is satisfying to hear a relative refer to Broadlands as “home”.

Having been here for just over a year I have seen several changes all good! Not least I now have a lovely suite of new furniture that I am very pleased with. I find that all the staff are very caring and some I have got fond of. The manager has made sure we are safe all the time from the Pandemic but
at the same time gradually easing restrictions. The food is still great.

My mother has been a resident at Broadlands for over a year now and was very much welcomed from the day she first arrived feeling understandably nervous. I had visited other nursing homes in the area prior to choosing Broadlands and non of them matched up in terms of cleanliness and a positive, welcoming
atmosphere. During her time in Broadlands, my mother has been treated with dignity and respect and is so well looked after by the care staff and management. She has been able to be involved in a variety of daily activities which are run with enthusiasm. When I have observed the interactions between the staff and my mother and also other residents, the staff seem genuinely caring and committed to the welfare of people in their charge.
I work for the NHS and Broadlands was recommended to me by colleagues who had also had family there and who considered this to be the outstanding care home in the locality. I certainly concur and I am so grateful to all the staff for their hard work.

From the first contact with Broadlands to when my mother was taken to the hospital we found all members of staff to be friendly, kind and extremely helpful. Not only to my mother but to all family members. She enjoyed her stay in the home and was particularly complimentary about the food. Her named
nurse deserves a special mention as she went above and beyond her duties and formed a close bond with Mother.

My aunt sadly passed away just before Christmas having spent 9 and a half years in Broadlands. In that time she received the best of care and attention. The staff were always considerate of her needs.
I was always welcomed on my visits and could always discuss matters with the staff and managers.

Broadlands Care Home, in my personal opinion, is equal to any 5-star hotel.
The staff are dedicated to the care and wellbeing of the residents.
If a resident requires something, the staff will attend to it with courtesy and very promptly.
I would recommend Broadlands to any friend or family member
needing a first-class nursing home of just to recuperate after an operation.

Broadlands is home in every respect; not just for residents but also for us relatives.
The staff team are welcoming, friendly, kind, and constantly maintain an outstanding level of commitment thus ensuring the well-being of all their residents.
My father has been part of this extended family for ten
months. He is safe, well, happy, active and brilliantly cared for. I can leave after spending time with him, safe in the knowledge that all will be well.
The peaceful Broad-side location of Broadlands simply enhances the ambience and ethos of this exceptional and unique home.

My father joined the Broadlands ‘family’ in September 2018. This has proven to be the best decision we could have made. The entire team are dedicated to creating a genuine ‘home from home’ environment and committed to consistently delivering an outstanding standard of care. Everything is geared towards
ensuring their residents are happy, content, safe, respected and truly cared about. Nothing is ever too much trouble. Every member of the team is so welcoming and kind and as relatives, we feel very much a part of this wonderful home. The setting and gardens are beautiful with an amazing view of the Broads. The sensory garden is a lovely addition and the activities team provide a varied and imaginative programme that is inclusive to all. Simply put, I and my family could not wish for more from this exceptional home.

A tough period for myself and my family over the last 18 months with my mother moving into care, made easier by Broadlands. I live overseas (New Zealand) and I made initial contact with the staff at Broadlands as Mum had expressed her desire for that to be her final and only home she would entertain
(her mother had lived there).
After initial contact and then further contact about my concerns with Mum's wellbeing the staff at Broadlands were of unbelievable help, both visiting her at home to introduce themselves and provide information/advice to me and then facilitating respite care after which Mum decided she wanted to stay at Broadlands indefinitely.
Since her move, she has taken great steps in her approach to life and living, thanks to the staff and environment at Broadlands. We recently visited to finalise her move and our findings were nothing but positive.
Thank you to everyone at Broadlands for your help and the environment you provide for Mum, it is truly a great care home.

My father went to Broadlands at the end of November 2018, initially for respite care but decided that he wanted to stay permanently in January 2019. Sadly he became unwell in the middle of January, was admitted to hospital and we knew he wouldn't get better. He wanted to return to Broadlands to end
his days and the staff pulled out all the stops to ensure that he could. They went above and beyond what I expected. Not only did they care for him with compassion, making sure he was comfortable all the time, but also looked after my sister and I enabling us to be with him 24 hours a day for his final few days. The staff make sure all residents feel as if the home is their own, providing anything and everything that is needed. I can't fault Broadlands in any way and am indebted to them for how they looked after my beloved dad.

Broadlands provided a high and consistent level of care to my father over an 8 year period. He was able to participate in activities (of which there were many) to suit himself. High levels of care, compassion and dignity were provided. At all times, Broadlands became his home and a happy home at that.

Hi, I’m Anne and I have worked at Broadlands for 19 years, the last fourteen years as manager.
I have an extremely dedicated and committed team who all deliver person centred care. We work together in our residents’ home supporting them to “live the rest of their lives” to the full Each one of our residents’ is an individual and their wishes, choices and preferences are always respected. We offer a “home” for life.
My personal philosophy is that we are privileged to work in our residents’ “home” and look after our residents’ as we would our own family. Relatives and friends are always welcome. I am very approachable, along with the rest of my management team and we are always happy to help.
