My father joined the Broadlands ‘family’ in September 2018. This has proven to be the best decision we could have made. The entire team are dedicated to creating a genuine ‘home from home’ environment and committed to consistently delivering an outstanding standard of care. Everything is geared towards ensuring their residents are happy, content, safe, respected and truly cared about. Nothing is ever too much trouble. Every member of the team is so welcoming and kind and as relatives, we feel very much a part of this wonderful home. The setting and gardens are beautiful with an amazing view of the Broads. The sensory garden is a lovely addition and the activities team provide a varied and imaginative programme that is inclusive to all. Simply put, I and my family could not wish for more from this exceptional home.

A tough period for myself and my family over the last 18 months with my mother moving into care, made easier by Broadlands. I live overseas (New Zealand) and I made initial contact with the staff at Broadlands as Mum had expressed her desire for that to be her final and only home she would entertain (her mother had lived there).
After initial contact and then further contact about my concerns with Mum's wellbeing the staff at Broadlands were of unbelievable help, both visiting her at home to introduce themselves and provide information/advice to me and then facilitating respite care after which Mum decided she wanted to stay at Broadlands indefinitely.
Since her move, she has taken great steps in her approach to life and living, thanks to the staff and environment at Broadlands. We recently visited to finalise her move and our findings were nothing but positive.

Thank you to everyone at Broadlands for your help and the environment you provide for Mum, it is truly a great care home.

My father went to Broadlands at the end of November 2018, initially for respite care but decided that he wanted to stay permanently in January 2019. Sadly he became unwell in the middle of January, was admitted to hospital and we knew he wouldn't get better. He wanted to return to Broadlands to end his days and the staff pulled out all the stops to ensure that he could. They went above and beyond what I expected. Not only did they care for him with compassion, making sure he was comfortable all the time, but also looked after my sister and I enabling us to be with him 24 hours a day for his final few days. The staff make sure all residents feel as if the home is their own, providing anything and everything that is needed. I can't fault Broadlands in any way and am indebted to them for how they looked after my beloved dad.

Broadlands provided a high and consistent level of care to my father over an 8 year period. He was able to participate in activities (of which there were many) to suit himself. High levels of care, compassion and dignity were provided. At all times, Broadlands became his home and a happy home at that.

From the very first day that my mother spent in Broadlands, she was treated kindly, lovingly, with respect for her own wishes. The whole experience until her passing was beyond reproach.

My mum has been a resident since September. I cannot fault the care, attention to detail and safety, it really is a home from home. The staff are very dedicated and caring in every possible way. We could not have chosen a better home for mum and the staff fully deserve their outstanding rating.

My Mum has now been a resident at Broadlands for a month and already she is a different person. The kindness of the staff, the attention to all detail, the cleanliness and decor throughout, the amazing food, the wonderful gardens and the daily activities are all exceptional. The result is one happy, nourished and content Mum, all characteristics I had not seen in her in a long while. I feel blessed that she has such a lovely home to live in and cannot give enough praise to everyone involved in making it just that.

My father was a resident of Broadlands for 3 years. Not always the easiest of residents, he was very lucky to be able to live his last three years there, as I strongly believe that the standard of his care could not have been bettered anywhere else. Broadlands is in a lovely setting with good access to the outside, with beautiful grounds and views. The staff is exceptional, with the majority of them working for Broadlands for many years. This in itself shows how good - and happy - the place must be to work in. Broadlands IS a happy place, with lots of laughter and activity all the time. My father was very happy there - level of care and compassion shown to him was exemplary. In his last few months Broadlands became my 'home from home' - the staff there became my friends, giving me much needed support. They worked closely with me in the last few days to ensure that my father's end of life care was what I wanted. I have nothing but praise for what they do.

Mum's last two years were spent at the superb home of Broadlands. Set in beautiful grounds overlooking Oulton Broad. Mum was cared for, pampered and magnificently looked after by an exceptionally dedicated and professional team of lovely people. Whenever my wife and I visited Mum, we were greeted like old friends and treated the same as Mum. Quality meals and a very varied menu to suit all tastes and requirements are served in a bright dining room at regular and reliable times. This is one aspect which certainly gave Mum a sense of security, as well as enjoyment. Mum often remarked with affection how everyone knew her and called her by her favoured first name. That meant such a lot to her. Personal care coupled with regular visits by the local doctor to monitor residents certainly gave Mum and me an excellent sense of care. Mum could not have wished for a better place to be for the final phase of her life.

So thank you Broadlands for contributing to Mum's long life.

Broadlands cared for my mother for almost 2 years, until her death last weekend aged 94. The managers and their team have provided sensitive, responsive and attentive personalised care throughout this time. Although contending with the deterioration of mobility, sight and health she was happy and always said she was happy and well cared for, even in the last most difficult months of her life.

My wife and I have been regular visitors and have always been made welcome, kept informed and had time made for us, whenever we needed it. I have had absolute confidence in the care provided and would not hesitate to strongly recommend this home to others.

My mother was a resident at Broadlands for 18 years. During that time she was cared for by everyone including the staff, managerial, administrative, nursing, domestic and volunteer to the highest possible standards.

Her state of health varied inevitably (she died recently at the great age of 96) but the loving care she was given never fell below excellent. As her daughter living far away, I was given every consideration, friendship and first-class advice.

My friend aged 98 has just died having been in the care home for over 2years. Her health deteriorated and after a two-week stay in hospital was sent back to the home. Their care has been absolutely outstanding, with every single member of staff delivering only the highest praise. Her room was always spotlessly clean despite her being constantly sick as she couldn't keep anything down. It was peaceful with a welcoming presence and the positive attitude of the staff was so helpful. They were concerned for family and friends as they were for my friend, reassuring, encouraging and cheerful at all times she was treated with dignity and respect as they passed her room most of the staff would pop in just to check. My friend was contented for the previous two years with excellent food, many activities and encouraging and helpful at all times. This home is really special.

I had visited several care homes in the area and this one stood out - simply because of the person who showed me around. Nothing pretentious - just living out their mandate that Broadlands was the resident's home - not theirs. There was respect and care. Mum was there temporarily for approximately 5 months whilst building a granny annexe for her. She improved whilst there. Highly recommended.

My friend was only in Broadlands for eight months but the care he had was excellent. He said he felt safe. The staff were all friendly and strove to make his life comfortable. The choices on the menu were excellent and when he couldn't manage ordinary food they always found something to tempt him. The cleanliness and his personal care were also excellent, he ended his days among friends.

Thank you all at Broadlands.

I have been involved with this home from the mid-nineties with my parents and then latterly with my sister (2009) and have nothing but praise for this organisation - they have just received an "outstanding " from the CQC's latest inspection. I think that comment tells the whole story....!

The care my father received at Broadlands was of exceptional quality. There was genuine love and caring from his many caregivers. The staff were always kind and welcoming to his family. Indeed the overall atmosphere was truly homely. Nothing was ever too much trouble and the relationship we all had with many of the staff was of an extended family. He was very fortunate to have spent his final eighteen months is such a friendly and beautiful location which was indeed his last home.

I stayed at the above home after a hip replacement operation and I was met and cared for throughout beyond my expectations in that at all times staff supported me with encouragement, humour and friendliness. I was invited to treat my stay as if I was at home and my friends and relatives were unfailingly welcomed. I witnessed the staff regarding all residents in a similarly positive way. Nothing was too much trouble and time given to each of us to ensure we were happy. My rapid recovery in regaining physical and mental positivity was due to their care. I can recommend without reservation anyone wishing to stay. A splendid experience, fabulous and a privilege.

I have just attended the picnic to celebrate the Queens 90th Birthday at Broadlands home. It was excellent they provided residents family and friends with hampers that were similar to those provided on the Mall. The staff were on hand and the atmosphere was amazing. This if the first function I have attended since mum became a resident and I was blown away. Fantastic effort by management, staff and girls in the kitchen.

Hi, I’m Anne and I have worked at Broadlands for 19 years, the last fourteen years as manager.
I have an extremely dedicated and committed team who all deliver person centred care. We work together in our residents’ home supporting them to “live the rest of their lives” to the full Each one of our residents’ is an individual and their wishes, choices and preferences are always respected. We offer a “home” for life.

My personal philosophy is that we are privileged to work in our residents’ “home” and look after our residents’ as we would our own family. Relatives and friends are always welcome. I am very approachable, along with the rest of my management team and we are always happy to help.

The best medicine is a smile and laughter, and you are always guaranteed that at Broadlands.
