Unfortunatley only 2 people acomodated each day. So much need for carers to have respite knowing thay they are well looked after by responsible caring adults.
We take great care in welcoming residents to the day centre, ensuring that each admission supports and maintains the positive environment enjoyed by those already living in the Home. It is a privilege to support you in your caring journey by providing respite care, ensuring both you and your...
John attends the Alzheimer's daycare and enjoy everything about it staff, activities etc. John attending gives me a day to catch up with things, as he needs my care and attention every day. I also meet up with people in the dame boat as me which really helps. I would highly recommend Rose Cottage.
Thank you so much for your kind review. We're delighted to hear that John enjoys attending the day centre and taking part in the activities. It's wonderful to know that his time with is also gives you the opportunity to take some well-deserved time for yourself and connect with others who share...
My husband who has Alzheimer's attended the Day Care facility at Rose Cottage for about 3 years. He always enjoyed his time there as is very social. The staff were very friendly and helpful. He has only stopped going now as his health has deteriorated and he doesn't have the stamina. I would highly recommend the Day Care facility.
We are so pleased to hear that your husband enjoyed his time at our day centre and had such a positive experience with us. It was a pleasure to support him and we truly appreciate your recommendation which will mean a great deal to our team who are dedicated to providing a welcoming and enjoyable environment. Thank you for your kind words and support.
My husband has Alzheimer's and attended day care sessions at Rose Cottage for about a year. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, and he always enjoyed his time there. He didn't remember being there before, so each visit was like the first time and he was a little unsure going in, but he always came out happy, in fact sometimes it was difficult to get him to leave! The staff were very caring and I would definitely recommend
Thank you so much for your kind words, it truly means a lot to us to hear that your husband enjoys his time at the day centre and leaves feeling happy. This is exactly what we hope to provide, a positive, warm and welcoming environment where people feel valued and able to enjoy meaningful moments. We feel it is a privilege that you are confident he feels safe and well cared for each time.
My mother went for respite in Rose Cottage Broughton, and I cannot thank the staff enough, each and every one of you there has been absolutely brilliant, in activities, music, crafting, singing, and especially cared for. You girls are 1 in a million. Thank you for making my mum's week so fun, and kind and caring. You are all the best.
We truly appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback and we are delighted to hear that you had a positive experience with our respite care services. Our team is committed to provide warm, safe and supportive environment so it means a lot to know that this was reflected your stay.
From the first moment I set foot in Rose Cottage it felt different to any of the other homes I visited when trying to find a home for mum. It was warm, friendly and welcoming and it hasn't disappointed in the 12 months since. All the staff are great and they seem to make a real effort with activities which mum enjoys.
Rose Cottage is a place that lives out its ethos of care, compassion and love. The staff and residents have excellent relationships that reflect that ethos every day. I cannot speak too highly of this exemplary care home.
Thank you for your wonderful feedback and for taking the time to leave such a positive review. We are delighted to hear that you hold our home in such high regards our team is committed to providing high-quality care and it is extremely rewarding to know that this is reflected in your experience and we are truly grateful that you took the time to share this review.
Many thanks.
It was a privilege to care for your mum. Your lovely comments about our team mean a great deal as they are truly dedicated to providing compassionate care to our residents. Providing comfort and reassurances not only to our residents but also their loved ones is something our team care deeply...
Mum is safe + appears content. This alone means a lot to us. She is dressed well and always clean. Staff always are happy and busy with activities for residents. She eats well and regularly. Drinks can sometimes be an issue as she needs prompting to drink. She loves, company but doesn't always want to mix and needs encouragement. Staff are excellent.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're pleased to hear you have had very positive experiences in the Home. We are always working hard to create a warm and supportive environment where residents feel safe and in receipt of high quality care. We are very proud of the caring and inclusive service our team deliver and will be sure to share your comments.
Mum has been a resident since early 2023, her care has been exceptional. From day one. Mum has full capacity and knows exactly who she wants, and when! This has caused a few little hiccups with one or two staff, however most of the staff/carers are very accommodating and love "gossiping" with mum. A lot of the carers have worked there a long while, and now their children also work there - its a lovely little family where they treat everyone as individuals. If you want a homely, family care home, this is the place for you.
Thank you so much for your review. We pride ourselves on creating a warm family-like environment where residents and families feel safe, valued and truly at home. Our home is built on a strong sense of warmth and belonging with a family ethos at the heart of everything we do. Resident choice and...
I have both parents residing in RC one in each unit. The care delivered is excellent, carers have good rapport with all they encounter and standards are consistently good with all staff members. Communication is excellent and frequent across all mediums. I have every confidence that my parents receive high quality holistic care and myself and my family are always welcomed. I feel we work in partnership to achieve the best outcomes for my parents.
Thank you for sharing your experiences of Rose Cottage especially as both your Mum and Dad live here. Person centred holistic care is at the heart of what we do. The consultation with yourself and knowing that you feel welcomed and a valued partner in your parents care especially as someone who...
I would highly recommend Rose cottage.
Thank you so much for your review. We are so pleased Your Mum is happy here and it has been a positive experience. We are very fortunate to be situated in such a beautiful village and thank you sincerely for the recommendation.
The devoted and friendly caring staff really to do care about the residents and look after them with all the dignity and respect I would want to for my father.
It is good to know that my father is very well looked after, is safe and comfortable. Most important is what my father thinks and he says he is very happy and content at Rose Cottage. We both could not ask for more.
The only gripe is the very limited parking for resident visitors. The car park seems to be always full and rarely is there a space on site. That said, the village hall which is right next door has parking spaces.
Thank you so much for your review. We do have a rather small car park which is quite busy but we are working on a plan to try to increase the space and we are grateful to the village for the space in the village hall. Our residents happiness, care and safety are paramount and your kind words will be shared with the team as it means a lot to them to know your Dad is happy here.
My mother has been a resident of Rose Cottage since August 2024. Under the care and encouragement she receives from the staff she is thriving and very happy. It is a blessing to our family to see her so well looked after and gives us great peace of mind.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience of Rose Cottage. We are so encouraged to hear the impact of our care extends beyond our immediate residents.
We are kept up to date with her needs and progress, receive timely emails and calls when needed and the staff are always accommodating, friendly and caring.
My mother in law is so much happier now, enjoying the activities and the other residents company.
It is so lovely to hear what a positive transition this has been, thank you so much for taking the time to share your experiences of Rose Cottage. We want all our residents to be able to live an engaged and active life as they wish.
My mum went to Rose Cottage after being discharged from hospital on a palliative care plan. The care at the home was so good that mum lived there for just over 2 years. Throughout this time mum was looked after with great care, even though at times she could be very tricky and quite a forceful character. The staff always treated her with compassion and dignity, always engaging with both her and myself. I can't thank all the staff enough for the care they gave my mum, especially towards the end when she became very poorly. During this sad period, the couple of days I spent with my mum were made more bearable by the staff allowing me to be with her at all times, nothing was too much trouble for them. I cherish the 2 extra years I had with my mum due to the wonderful care all staff at Rose Cottage gave her, I will especially remember sitting by the pond with mum having a cup of team and cake.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience of Rose Cottage. We are so proud of the team and know they cared very deeply for Mum and for you. Thank you for all your support of the Home and the cakes and cheese scones!
My aunts health had deteriorated at the end of last year, so I started researching care homes for her. My aunt was very sure she wanted to stay in her own home so she was added to the waiting list and invited to attend community sessions. She has now been attending these for a few months and although not ready to move in, admits she enjoys attending and is happy to go again. The staff are very kind and go the extra mile to make sure everyone is happy and have all they need. It has been really good for my aunt to spend time with people of her generation and have time out enjoying the different activities.
Thank you so much for your lovely review of Rose Cottage. The activity session are something we are really proud of as they help offer an insight into care for those who are not certain of the move and worry what life would be in a care setting.
He really enjoys his days at Rose Cottage.
From my first visit I was taken with the welcoming and homely atmosphere. The staff are caring , supportive and accommodating to both my husband and myself. I feel I can relax knowing he is in a safe, supported and enjoyable setting.
Thank you so much for sharing your experiences of Rose Cottage. Our aim is to support our visitors to feel welcome, engaged and safe so we are so so pleased you are enjoying your visits!
My Mum lived at Rose Cottage for nearly three years. The care throughout that time was excellent, but was particularly so in the last few weeks of her life. The staff were amazing and all aspects of her care were delivered with great compassion and dignity. As a family, we were also looked after beautifully which enabled us to spend those last precious weeks without any concerns apart from looking after and being with Mum.
Thank you so much for sharing your experiences of Rose Cottage. I will be sure to share your words with the staff as it will mean a lot, it was such an honour to support your Mum and she is greatly missed at the Home.
We visited Rose Cottage over a year ago. My Dad was very impressed with the service but did not feel ready to move. Dad's name was placed on a waiting list. We were both impressed with the attitude and philosophy of Rose Cottage. Later, I supported Dad at Rose Cottage where he was welcomed to attend activity sessions. A room became available and Dad had a six-week trial which was reassuring to him. Dad stayed. We as a family were extremely impressed with the whole of the service, everything about it is positive - staff are so caring and put the resident at the centre of their approach. Nothing is too much trouble. At Dad's first care review, he said "Well it's like paradise really". Personally, I have had an exceptionally positive experience at Rose Cottage and I would recommend it. We are truly grateful for the care, support, and understanding that Dad receives on a daily basis. Lastly, there is lots of fun and laughter at Rose Cottage - my Dad loves the conversations he has with staff.
Thank you so much for sharing your experiences of Rose Cottage from enquiry to resident. We are so keen to support anyone who is making those first steps into care as it can be such a daunting process. We are so proud of our team and will be sure to share your lovely words as they really mean a lot.

I love Rose Cottage, it’s homely, all of the staff are passionate and genuinely care. Our staff stay for a long time and it feels like one big family. Away from work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, and taking my dog for walks in the country.

I have worked at Rose Cottage since 2017. Prior to that, I was a carer and a cook. I thoroughly enjoy my position here - it's my calling! I find my work very satisfying and fulfilling, spreading happiness and joy around the home. I enjoy encouraging independence and finding new skills with our residents, as well as remembering and making new memories. Our programme is fully informed by the residents, and it is very varied - from exercise to all sorts of crafts and even our own weekly religious service. We run a breakfast club and a supper club, which makes mealtimes more convivial. I also run the day centre at Rose Cottage, available for local people 65+ to drop in and enjoy activities and a meal with our community.

I joined Rose Cottage nearly 15 years ago, working my way up from care assistant to senior carer and into my new role. I support the managers and the rest of the team to oversee care plans, liaise with healthcare professionals, check medication, do care reviews with families and supervise staff. I love the role - it is different every day and I enjoy making a difference to the residents' lives.

I joined as a Senior Care Assistant in 2020, and I've been in care for over 35 years. I support residents with their everyday lives, making sure they have the help they need to maintain independence and dignity. My favourite part of the role is without a doubt interacting with the residents - learning about their lives - you learn something new every day! I cannot imagine myself doing anything else but working in care and supporting residents to thrive.

The best thing about my job is that I never know what the day will bring! Along with my other maintenance colleague, I support life at the home by ensuring systems are ticking, we are compliant with all safety regulations, and that residents' spaces are always functional, comfortable and welcoming. I have worked in maintenance for a while, and I also used to be a carer, and I like how my new role combines both aspects of my professional life.
