Speirs House has a team of well-trained nursing and care staff who endeavour to make every resident feel comfortable and at home. A varied programme of activities at the care home help to keep residents stimulated and engaged. Residents are supported to use the care home's Wi-Fi access and computers to keep up to speed and stay in touch with friends and family.

Speirs House’s beautiful gardens are able to be enjoyed from every bedroom window, and residents and guests can enjoy sitting out in the main grounds or in the central courtyard.

The Speirs House minibus is used for outings to places such as Richmond Park, Chessington, Garson's Farm and shopping trips to nearby New Malden and Kingston upon Thames.

The staff are amazing, always smiling and engaging. They all share a good laugh with mum. All staff make the family feel at home and always ask how we are all doing. Having chosen this home above all others 3 years ago for my beloved mum when she was no longer safe to live in her own home due to Parkinson's and Alzheimer's, I continue to rate Speirs House as excellent. All the stuff that actually really matters, they absolutely excel at. The care, the professionalism,
the efforts to provide a sense of home for each of their residents, the respect and the consideration for complex human needs - the list goes on. I've experienced nothing but kindness, and creative solutions to help with mum's unpredictable ups and downs. They love her, and for that, I love them. Genuinely top down, really well supported person centred care - the staff are happy and constant, and this translates to a lovely environment for mum to have the best quality of life that she can have. Excellent manager, excellent staff, excellent building and grounds.

My uncle came into Speirs House initially as a respite patient. Manager saw his needs to be admitted here as his condition was not favourable. He had a bed sore which was quite deep and staff at Speirs House did a sterling job of making sure it healed completely. He was taken outside in his chair for
some fresh air and he seemed a lot brighter and happier. His health was improving tremendously as all the staff at Speirs did their level best to give my uncle a good and respectful quality of life. They exercise their duty of care to the utmost. As a family, we are ever so grateful.

My partner has now been a Resident of Speirs House for nearly 2 and a half years. My partner took a little while to settle in a normal occurrence but now regards Speirs House as her home.
I visit regularly so I can see that the standard of care, facilities, cleanliness, activities etc remain at a high
standard.
The meetings of the Relatives Committee enable the Manager to communicate to us the regular, incremental improvements which are taking place.
I believe that my partner is well cared for in a safe and friendly environment.

My mother has been a resident for 2 years and the staff have always been very caring and helpful. My mother engages well with her staff, residents and visitors to create a welcoming home. Speirs House is always clean and the laundry done beautifully. The kitchen staff are always accommodating to my
mother and serve fresh, hot meals- mum's recent birthday cake was delicious I am very happy with the nursing team who treat mum with dignity and concern and communicate very well with her family.

Speirs House has excellent management which is shown by the cheerful staff, this is conveyed to the residents and creates a lovely warm atmosphere as soon as you entre the building. The facilities are very good but if not required her room is very comfortable with a nice outlook. Unfortunately my wife
cannot wash and dress herself but she is always fresh and smart when I visit. I enjoy being able to have lunch with her in the dining room annex. We had some use of the TV room to celebrate her 91st Birthday with 17 relatives. SH looks after my wife better than I could.

I have been a resident of Speirs since February 2024. It took me some time to settle down but I am very happy here now. I am very impressed with the care staff, with the activities, with the kitchen staff and meals provided. Also the cleaning and laundry departments. I can't believe how quickly clothes
come back clean. I would certainly recommend Speirs to anyone searching for a good care home.

Comfortable en suite room with pretty curtains and nice view. Excellent carers (sometimes take a while to answer the call bell!) and expert at managing my needs. The public rooms are very nice and the outdoor courtyard is lovely and accessible. The food is varied and of excellent variety and quality.
Staff are always willing to help and offer alternatives. It is good that there is a physio and a hairdresser.

My mother, who is a resident of Speirs, is very happy here, and we are all very relieved. I come to visit from France and find the staff very friendly and kind to me too! Mum and I are very pleased that we can have lunch together and I am delighted with how good the food is. The staff are all very attentive
and quick to respond to her when she needs attention. I am so happy that we found Speirs House when we were looking for a place for Mum to call home.

I have a friend who has been a resident at Speirs House since May 2023. I have visited the Care Home many times, most recently for their Christmas Party on December 13th. This was a lovely occasion. The staff worked very hard: the residents were all looked after with care and compassion (as they always
are, in my experience). The catering was excellent and the decorations were beautifully done.

My husband is being very well cared for at Speirs House and we are all happy and confident that the home does their very best for him. He doesn't join in any of the activities but he is content in his room. His room is very comfortable and his clothes are always clean. The carers and nurses are all
wonderful and as he doesn't have dementia he can interact with them which is good for his mood and personality.

At Speirs House, our philosophy is to help people feel good about care. This can be summed up in our efforts to do all we can to have happy residents, happy staff, and happy relatives.


We provide a therapeutic environment, a well-developed and innovative team, opportunities for fun and meaningful activities, and opportunities to grow no matter our age!


I see our responsibility as caregivers to facilitate, to make ourselves available, and to be creative. We need to be up to date with our training and thinking, and need to be able to network with other carers in our community.


Nursing is our specialist field and we have a skilled and confident nursing team which we support, train and nurture to be the best in their field.
