Speirs House has a team of well-trained nursing and care staff who endeavour to make every resident feel comfortable and at home. A varied programme of activities at the care home help to keep residents stimulated and engaged. Residents are supported to use the care home's Wi-Fi access and computers to keep up to speed and stay in touch with friends and family.

Speirs House’s beautiful gardens are able to be enjoyed from every bedroom window, and residents and guests can enjoy sitting out in the main grounds or in the central courtyard.

The Speirs House minibus is used for outings to places such as Richmond Park, Chessington, Garson's Farm and shopping trips to nearby New Malden and Kingston upon Thames.

Our mother moved in this summer and can say we were very concerned about the move.
We can honestly we didn't need to be concerned.
Our mother was made so welcome and mum settled in quickly.
The staff are always so friendly, and chatty and nothing seems to phase them.
We are so pleased we chose
Spiers House.
It would be good to have more external activities but understand cost is the main factor.

Speirs House has the most outstanding team of carers, nurses, caterers, housekeepers, managers and volunteers. Each and every one of them puts heart and soul into their caring responsibilities and understands every resident's wants or needs. The support I have received, whilst supporting my mother through
Alzheimer's, has been invaluable. I simply cannot imagine a better place for Mum.

On arrival was greeted by the admin team and manager who were both very professional and friendly. Once taken to my relative I was given a very brief description of what had been going on as I had worked away for a while.
After a while, I watched my relative play and take part in activities which all
took part.
The care home is nicely decorated and very clean.

Speirs House kindly agreed to let us use the cinema room for a 92 and 1/2 birthday party. She had missed her 90th birthday due to the fear of people catching Covid and her 92nd birthday due to the stroke. 6 months later she started the stages of learning to walk again so she wanted to have a party to
celebrate being alive and to thank all the various people who had helped her in her recovery. The cinema room was ideal for our 30 people party of friends, family and carers. The party really started when she walked into the room aided by her physio and rollator. It was a thoroughly enjoyable occasion. Thank you Speirs House for making the party possible.

Speirs is a caring environment and I have confidence that my father is being well looked after. A GP calls every Wednesday so any health concerns can be addressed quickly. My father enjoys the food and eats well. I would recommend this care home.

I spent 2 weeks at this Care Home after an operation. I found the surroundings pleasant, the staff caring, the laundry service efficient, and the food good. The library could have been better but I suspect few of the long-term residents read much.

My mum has been at Spiers now for two years. She is so well looked after, and the staff are wonderful. She has never had a bad word to say about Spiers House. I never wanted my mum to be in a care home, but I know she is so well looked after and genuinely cared for.

Speirs House is a wonderful nursing home. The staff are extremely caring and it has a very homely atmosphere. The residents are looked after very well and offered daily activities to keep their bodies and minds stimulated. I am so pleased my dad is now living at Speirs House. He was not coping at home
but now I know he is looked after night and day. I visited 6 or 7 care homes in the area but this was my favourite by far, and it has not disappointed me. It offers complete peace of mind for relatives.

We could not be more pleased with the care and help that Dad receives at this wonderful care home.
Since Dad arrived in July of 2022, he has been made to feel welcome and cared for. The staff are all very welcoming and supportive and have a lovely, friendly, yet professional approach to their work.
The manager and family liaison person have both gone out of their way to be very helpful and supportive to us all.
Their help and advice were greatly appreciated following Dad’s move from Wales and made a difficult time much easier.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Speirs House.

Today is the Christmas party at Speirs House. The whole home is beautifully decorated, and staff have really got into the Christmas spirit by dressing up as elves and angels and wearing Christmas hats.
All staff are so welcoming.
Great welcome speech from the manager and resident.
The Santa's
Grotto is amazing.
So looking forward to the celebrations.

I have now been a resident in Speirs House for seven years and have been very happy here. My main, in fact only, major criticism is that Speirs House is not a suitable home for dementia patients as they cannot be separated. I have had some very unpleasant experiences due to this and this is why I have
marked safety/security as poor. I am sorry there is a not a box for very good as many of my goods would have come into that category. I consider excellent to mean almost perfect.

My Auntie has been a resident for a number of months and I am extremely impressed with the level of care she has received. They are well staffed with an extremely low turnover led by a manager who really cares. They are proactive with my aunties' care as well as keeping dialogue open with monthly in-person
meetings, as well as welcoming feedback and suggestions at any time.
I would recommend Speirs highly.

This home is well run by the manager, who is always around and meets with me every two months to discuss my sister - about her care and how her care can be improved. The rooms are clean and bright, with lovely views of the garden. The food is good and nicely prepared. There is frequently something going
on for the residents. O get updates after the GP visits and can always speak to a member of staff about my sister. This is the first home I have visited in the surrounding area.

My mum has now been at Speirs House for nearly a year, and I cannot fault the care given to all the residents. The staff go out of their way to make residents and family members feel safe, welcome and loved. Nothing is too much trouble, and I am always met with a smiling face from the manager and all
her staff. Mum is very happy; she always looks smart and well cared for. There are plenty of activities scheduled for the week, which residents are encouraged to join in with. Relatives are encouraged to take an active role in all aspects of the home, and the monthly one-to-one meetings with the manager are most informative.

On Saturday 4 March 2023, on the day of my husband’s birthday, my family and I were surprised and very appreciative that Speirs had made a birthday cake for my husband and also wheeled a trolley in with cups, saucers, tea and cake for us to celebrate his birthday.

gesture.
The last two times that I visited my husband at Speirs in the afternoon (after 6 pm), there was no liquid soap in the soap dispenser in his bathroom for me to wash my hands. I did mention this to the staff there at my last visit, and again, when I visited him on Saturday 22 April, there was no soap either, so I did speak to one of the staff.
Therefore, before I left, I put a small Post-it sticker on the soap dispenser as a reminder for them to refill the liquid soap, which I hope will be done before my next visit.

My husband is well looked after, likes the food and all the staff are very approachable and kind. I just have to ask if he needs anything, and they will do their best. I visit every other day if possible and always feel welcome.

My sister suffered a severe stroke several months ago, and I was advised she would need 24-hour nursing care. I began searching for the right place for her and came across Speirs House. I made my appointment and was met by a very welcoming member of staff who said, "we can't offer your sister chandeliers
or a grand piano, but what we can offer her is a home!" And that's what it is; I knew immediately this was the right place, and where my sister has been a resident ever since. It is a care home with 24-hour nursing if you should need it. There are 36 rooms, each ensuite, with views of either a very pretty central courtyard or the secluded garden. The common areas are spacious, with a large and airy dining room (food highly rated). Staff are well trained, super friendly, kind, caring and compassionate, the management very approachable. It is a Christian home with regular worship and activities numerous - my sister's quality of life has improved beyond our expectations.

Deciding on the right home for your parent is an incredibly difficult and challenging decision to make. As a recent resident of four months, we have found Speirs to be a happy place to reside. From a relative's point of view, I have found the home offers a very high level of nursing care with regular
visits from the local doctor, followed up by emailing updated notes. The home has strong leadership with the care manager, who organises regular meetings to discuss your situation and offer any further assistance. I have always found my mother beautifully turned out, neat, clean and well cared for. All the staff are very kind, caring and helpful. The food is very good, freshly cooked and to a very high standard. There are weekly activities and a newsletter about all the fun days. The home is bright, comfortable, very well organised, and all the staff are welcoming. We have found what we were looking for - my mother is well cared for in a place that feels like home from home.

Hello everyone. I am Feruna O'Donovan, and I am the Home Manager for Speirs House.


At Speirs House, our philosophy is to help people feel good about care. This can be summed up in our efforts to do all we can to have happy residents, happy staff, and happy relatives.

Hi! We are Christina and Kasia. We provide gentle exercises and physio activities for residents in the morning and in the afternoon, we will keep the residents’ minds occupied with quizzes, board games, puzzles, arts & crafts, bingo and musical
