Could not be happier with Speirs House!

My sister has been at Speirs House for three and a half years. It is both a nursing and care home. The staff are all regular, important for continuity of care for all residents. My sister needs nursing care after a serious stroke. She is non verbal, the staff know her needs, she's extremely well cared for. Although she cannot join in, she is included in many of the activities, important for her well being. Speirs House is spacious, plenty of areas to enjoy whether individually, or socially. The ensuite bedrooms all have a view, it is a happy and comfortable place, it is home to my sister.

My mother was in need of a hospital admission in the last months. When mum became unwell we were immediately notified, the nursing staff listened to our wishes and reviewed the situation as necessary. I felt our family wishes were prioritised and we worked as a team to enable mum to have the best care for her individual needs. On return from hospital mum's care has been excellent. I can feel completely at ease when I leave the home knowing she will be cared for beautifully.

We are so happy that our mum is at Speirs House. All the staff are wonderful and helpful and mum has settled in quickly. For my brother and I, Speirs House provides peace of mind, knowing that our mum is being cared for so well.

I have been visiting my friend at Speirs House for about 3 years. She seems to be quite happy and content. The staff are friendly caring and always at hand to help. The environment is clean. The activities offered are excellent.

My mother has stayed in Speirs House for over two years. From the start, she has been well looked after and safe. The staff are all fantastic, kind and helpful. My mother's room is clean. There are plenty of activities. The food is good. I want to thank the manager of Speirs House and all the staff for taking such good care of my mother. The recent CQC report is good, and this is well deserved. Thank you, everyone. I really appreciate all that you do for my mother.

The staff are very warm and welcoming. The environment is very pleasant, especially the dining room. Food is good, options are increasing.

My uncle came into Speirs House initially as a respite patient. Manager saw his needs to be admitted here as his condition was not favourable. He had a bed sore which was quite deep and staff at Speirs House did a sterling job of making sure it healed completely. He was taken outside in his chair for some fresh air and he seemed a lot brighter and happier. His health was improving tremendously as all the staff at Speirs did their level best to give my uncle a good and respectful quality of life. They exercise their duty of care to the utmost. As a family, we are ever so grateful.

I believe that my partner is well cared for in a safe and friendly environment.

She takes part in activities and is physically well.

Speirs House has excellent management which is shown by the cheerful staff, this is conveyed to the residents and creates a lovely warm atmosphere as soon as you entre the building. The facilities are very good but if not required her room is very comfortable with a nice outlook. Unfortunately my wife cannot wash and dress herself but she is always fresh and smart when I visit. I enjoy being able to have lunch with her in the dining room annex. We had some use of the TV room to celebrate her 91st Birthday with 17 relatives. SH looks after my wife better than I could.

I have been a resident of Speirs since February 2024. It took me some time to settle down but I am very happy here now. I am very impressed with the care staff, with the activities, with the kitchen staff and meals provided. Also the cleaning and laundry departments. I can't believe how quickly clothes come back clean. I would certainly recommend Speirs to anyone searching for a good care home.

I have this establishment professionally run with excellent facilities for residents. Bright and with good lighting. Lounges are very comfy. Keep it up. Very good nourishing lunches.

Comfortable en suite room with pretty curtains and nice view. Excellent carers (sometimes take a while to answer the call bell!) and expert at managing my needs. The public rooms are very nice and the outdoor courtyard is lovely and accessible. The food is varied and of excellent variety and quality. Staff are always willing to help and offer alternatives. It is good that there is a physio and a hairdresser.

My mother, who is a resident of Speirs, is very happy here, and we are all very relieved. I come to visit from France and find the staff very friendly and kind to me too! Mum and I are very pleased that we can have lunch together and I am delighted with how good the food is. The staff are all very attentive and quick to respond to her when she needs attention. I am so happy that we found Speirs House when we were looking for a place for Mum to call home.

My sister is much happier being with you. The nurses and their management of medications is thorough, friendly and provides so much confidence. The food is remarkably good.

The staff at Speirs House have been looking after my mother-in-law very well and she is happy as a resident in the home. Everyone is very welcoming when we were to visit and the space is clean and well maintained. The recent Christmas party was a real joy to attend and the food and entertainment was top notch. Thank you to everyone from the management to the staff.

I have a friend who has been a resident at Speirs House since May 2023. I have visited the Care Home many times, most recently for their Christmas Party on December 13th. This was a lovely occasion. The staff worked very hard: the residents were all looked after with care and compassion (as they always are, in my experience). The catering was excellent and the decorations were beautifully done.
