Speirs House has a team of well-trained nursing and care staff who endeavour to make every resident feel comfortable and at home. A varied programme of activities at the care home help to keep residents stimulated and engaged. Residents are supported to use the care home's Wi-Fi access and computers to keep up to speed and stay in touch with friends and family.

Speirs House’s beautiful gardens are able to be enjoyed from every bedroom window, and residents and guests can enjoy sitting out in the main grounds or in the central courtyard.

The Speirs House minibus is used for outings to places such as Richmond Park, Chessington, Garson's Farm and shopping trips to nearby New Malden and Kingston upon Thames.

The staff are very friendly and caring towards my dad and his visitors. They are always helpful with extra requests, and nothing is too much for them. There is a lovely atmosphere there.

Speirs House is a wonderful atmosphere, and a lot of credit has to go to the amazing staff, who all genuinely care about creating a warm and happy environment for all the residents, and consistently go above and beyond to do so. I really enjoyed my time volunteering here and getting to know the residents
as well as the staff. The manager is perfect and runs the home smoothly and with a lot of empathy and kindness. I would certainly recommend Speirs House to anyone looking for a safe and reassuring place for their loved ones.

I have been visiting Speirs House for more than five years - giving photo talks and taking my dog around visiting the residents. The staff are very caring and seem responsive to the needs and wants of the residents. A bright, friendly place to be and to visit.

My dad's last few weeks of life were spent at Spiers House. He had the best care we could have wished for from all the staff, without exception. I felt straight away that the staff understood Dad's needs and did everything they could to make him comfortable. Also, just as importantly, they knew how

Moving from one place to another felt a bit strange to start with. Started to fit in and got to know everybody and found everyone is caring, loving and supportive. Carer, nursing staff and management are well managed and organised. Food is very nutritious and lots of choices.

My mother-in-law was a resident at Speirs House for 4-years until she sadly passed away a few weeks ago. She was so happy there for the last years of her life living it to the full. Speirs House is a very special place due to all the staff who work there in every capacity from the manager, nurses,
carers, hospitality staff, office staff to the maintenance staff. Our family have the greatest admiration for them all, and we will always be in their debt for the care and love they gave her and us throughout her time there.

My sister and I spent a long time considering which nursing home would suit our parents needs the best as they both have dementia, and we have been extremely pleased. The care from the Speirs House team has been exceptional. It appears obvious to us that the staff really do care about their residents
as individuals and show them respect, compassion and empathy. A huge bonus for my parents is that the staff understood how important it was for our parents to be together, allowing them to share the same bedroom and changing the other bedroom into a lounge.
Despite an extremely unprecedented year, the staff at Speirs have kept us up to date, the GP has visited weekly, and we had lots of really fun photo's showing us the activities they had continued to arrange as well as providing access to virtual visiting every day.
In my opinion, Speirs House is a glowing example of how nursing home care should be; my parents are very settled and happy.

My father was a resident of Speirs House for over 5-years until he passed away in January. We will always be so grateful for the wonderful care he received from all the staff. It was so reassuring to be kept informed on a regular basis of how he was doing, and we always felt confident he was in safe
hands. This last year with Covid has been extremely difficult, and the staff could not have done any more or worked any harder to take care of everyone there. We feel because of the excellent nursing care and kindness of all the staff, we were able to enjoy a few extra years with Dad that we may not have had otherwise.

Our mother had been a resident at Speirs House for nearly eight years, entering their care when she was barely able to walk, was suffering from dementia and needed 24-hour care. For five years, she enjoyed activities at Speirs going on outings and taking part in exercises, cooking, flower arranging
and other sessions. My sister and I plus other family members and friends always received a warm welcome when we visited, often eating lunch with Mum and being spoiled by the chef with treats such as profiter rolls, trifles and apple pie. We even occasionally enjoyed a sherry beforehand. I have great memories of excellent Christmas parties and a full-dress dinner on one occasion.
For Mum’s last three years, prior to her peaceful passing in January this year, she required full nursing care. I believe that it was only the excellent care she received that enabled her to survive to 93. My heartfelt thanks go to all staff at Speirs. Excellent home and highly recommended.

I returned my mother to Speirs over three years ago for them to care for her for the last 4 to 6 weeks of life. Nearly 4-years later she died, but I knew she had been cared for by people who knew and liked her and wanted to do the best they could for her. For that, I am so please about especially as

My parents moved into Speirs House during the Covid pandemic. It was a huge move in very difficult circumstances. The team at Speirs have been so welcoming and caring, it enabled them to settle into their new home more easily than expected. Speirs House allowed them to have a shared bedroom with a second
room as a sitting room, something that a lot of homes simply wouldn't consider.
We have been kept abreast of the changing circumstances during the Coronavirus lockdown periods, and the manager and her team have made visiting by various means possible as soon as it was allowed.
Mum and Dad feel very happy and settled here. I would recommend Speirs House.

We cannot thank the whole team enough for the outstanding care our father received during his three years at Speirs house. He loved all the staff, the activities and the outings. He thoroughly enjoyed the garden and the beautiful way the grounds are kept. The nursing staff kept a close eye on him, and
the visiting GP's were also excellent. We, as a family, looked forward to our visits with him, and even during Covid, we are so very grateful for the way you worked so hard to make garden visits and then screen visits possible. We also wanted to thank you all for the times you helped Dad FaceTime us throughout the pandemic. Simply wonderful care.

The Manager and staff have worked tirelessly to keep residents safe from Covid while trying to give them a “normal” experience despite all the restrictions. The Christmas party took place as usual with the staff providing entertainment instead of outsiders. Relatives have been updated every time the
Covid rules have been changed and we have been encouraged to discuss our concerns or ask questions. We have also been encouraged to use the Skype facility when visiting was restricted.
Visiting facilities have been introduced within the guidelines and organised with real compassion.
