we visited my aunt today on her 96th birthday. Having been a resident for one year, she is very happy + settled. The staff are all very nice + friendly and all of her needs are catered for. My mother was also a resident at Bucklers Lodge until she passed away at christmas. As a family, we have only good things to say about the care given by the staff and the building itself and the surroundings are first class. We would recommend Bucklers Lodge to anyone looking for complete peace of mind for their loved ones.

At the end of last year following 3 emergency hospital admissions in June, August & October Mum had stopped eating & was in very poor health. Remarkably in December, Mum started eating again and is now in good health & able to enjoy her food and the home activities. The care, encouragement and perserverance of all the staff during this time cannot be understated. The support and communication with the family was also greatly appreciated.

Mum is very happy and content, thanks to all the staff from us all.

We visited & researched a number of homes before placing our aunt into respite. The setting & location were perfect and the warmth of welcome & care has been a pleasure. The staff understand how difficult a time this is and dealt with everything very well.

Respite has turned into a permanent place and we are very happy.

Mum moved into Bucklers Lodge in February 2025 and has been well cared for ever since. The Home has modern facilities and she has a lovely room with an outlook she loves.
The food is good, but most of all she appreciates the support of all of the staff that make her feel so much at home.

The recent addition of a new GM is already yielding results.

Buckler's Lodge has provided an absolute lifeline to our family. My dad has dementia ad the care shown to him at Buckler's Lodge is wonderful. Knowing he is so well looked after is a great comfort to us. The care is amazing, but also the activitiesand engagement is brilliant. Music plays a large part of the activities, with many people visiting the home to provide music that brings back wonderful memories for the residents. Every event in the year is celebrated and as a family we are very much encourgaed to be part of every day at Buckler's Lodge. A precious thing.

It's a very difficult to have to reach out to residential care to provide a home to your mum, we finally decided on Buckler's Lodge. Mum was a dementia patient for about a year. The care was adequate, the people personable, my brother and I decided to work with the staff even when we discovered the bed still soiled on more than a few afternoon visits, medicine missed and personal items missing from her drawers. This does happen in care homes but as one of the most expensive I would expect something better. If you do decide on Bucklers Lodge don't be surprised by 10% annual fee increase due to 'cost of living'. We gave our notice and moved out, I incorrectly thought we would be paying the original fees in the month or so it took to move Mum. This was due to appalling comms. Greensleeves did not budge and insisted on getting their dementia resident to pay the full new invoice, no compromise whatsoever. I consider the attitude uncaring and greedy in the extreme. Good hot chocolate though.

Greensleeves have made good progress in addressing the management issues at Bucklers Lodge over the past few months.
The communication has greatly improved, the staff morale certainly seems better and the home has been proactively recruiting over the last few months and they have gradually been able to increase the amount of permanent staff and reduce the amount of agency staff.
Overall I am pleased with the care my mother is receiving, the staff are all lovely, the building and facilities are very impressive.
They still have a little bit more to go to get the home back to a top level and back to me giving it a 5 Star review again,
I am glad to say that we are certainly now heading back in a positive direction again (imo).

So well done to Clint and the other management team for their hard work and effort and, and well done to all of the hard working staff that make Bucklers Lodge the warm,

I don't know what has happened because the communication has become so poor, but this once very good care home is in a very poorly managed situation, I would strongly recommend anybody to be extremely carefully at looking at a Greensleeves Owned Care Home at the moment because the way they are mismanaging Bucklers Lodge at the moment is VERY concerning!

Mum was in Bucklers Lodge for just under a year, initially she was on the second floor which was more residential (mum has dementia) but it was felt it would be more detrimental for her to be on the first floor ( Dementia floor). On the Greensleeves website it states they take mild to moderate dementia residents but dementia does not stop at moderate it progresses, mums dementia did progress so she was moved to the first floor and this is where her care deteriorated. I would really like to put everything down about the care or lack of it but it probably wouldn't be printed on this website but the Care Quality Commission and Social Services have all the details. Bucklers Lodge evicted mum without any notice because her of Dementia, they said they couldn't meet her needs so sent her to hospital where she spent nearly three weeks and it's not the first time they have done this to a resident as we have found out. Mum is now safe and in a care home that understands dementia.

My wife became a resident at Bucklers Lodge in February. For me to loose the love of my life to the care of professionals was a huge decision. I had been her carer for 3 years and it was beginning to take its toll on my own well being.
From the moment of her taking up residence
the relief at knowing she was in such better hands than mine in her care and stability.
I have nothing but praise for all the staff for their understanding and patience with all the residents.
Above all my life has begun to return to a level of normality, mainly because of the knowledge that I have been usurped as main carer. Safe in the knowledge that my sweetheart is in the best of hands.

Thank you all the carers at BL.

My wife has been a resident at Bucklers Lodge for just over a year, it wasn't an easy decision for me to place her in care, but after caring for her for 6 years at home I realised I wasn't best person to provide all her needs, my wife is on the second floor, she has a lovely room with a pleasant outlook, she is safe, warm and well cared for, she always looks well groomed and happy, everyone knows her and she is well looked after by all the staff, they all know her name and escort her to the various activities she takes part in, when I visit her she is very cheerful, one of the things she always says is "I like coming here, because everyone is so friendly, or it is very peaceful"

All in all it is probably the best decision I have ever made and I would like to thank all the staff at Bucklers Lodge for making my wife's life a little happier

The most caring , clean environment for my mum who has Dementia. The ladies on reception are so welcoming which makes it easier for us on tough days .
My mum loves every single carer , as she has been there a while now they know how to manage her and keep her as stress free and happy as possible . She genuinely is happy and the hallucinations that she was having at her own home stopped the day she moved into Buckler's .
I can ask all sorts of questions and nobody ever minds .
Everyone has made a really tough time a lot easier and I never have to worry about mum .

We cannot recommend Bucklers lodge enough . Genuinely kind people who look after their residents and families . Which makes it easier to chat to other families who are going through the same thing . What could've been a very lonely and frightening time has been made easier by these professionals who care and we will always been very grateful for so many happy memories at a very sad time .
