Worcester's newest care home, Perdiswell Rose, has quickly become a vibrant part of the local community since opening its doors last month. In its first few weeks, the home has launched an exciting series of events, providing both residents and the wider community with meaningful activities that promote well-being and connection. The Wellbeing Café, a dementia-friendly initiative, has been a huge success, with local families and residents enjoying its warm, welcoming atmosphere. Held every Wednesday from 2pm to 3:30pm, the café offers gentle activities, entertainment and refreshments, making it a highlight of the week. The most recent event featured a special Elvis impersonator, bringing joy and nostalgia to everyone in attendance. Sandie Preece, home manager at Perdiswell Rose, said: “We’re so pleased to see the community embracing our Wellbeing Café. The Elvis impersonator was a fantastic addition, and the positive feedback from both our residents and visitors has been heartwarming. It’s wonderful to see families enjoying quality time together in such a supportive and fun environment.” In addition, the Fish, Chips and Friendships event, which invites local residents aged 60+ to enjoy a complimentary traditional fish and chips lunch, is already fully booked for both October and November. This monthly gathering, held on the last Friday of every month, is set to become a tradition, with guests enjoying free fish, chips and friendship - but those wishing to attend must pre-book. The next available event to book will take place on Friday, December 19. Bhav Amlani, director of Macc Care Group, which operates 16 care homes across the Midlands, said: “Perdiswell Rose has already made such a positive impact in Worcester, and it's inspiring to see the events filling up and bringing joy to the community. Our approach to care has always been about more than just meeting physical needs; it’s about creating meaningful, enriching experiences for all our residents and the wider community.” Looking ahead, Perdiswell Rose is excited to announce its upcoming Christmas Fair on Saturday, December 6, from 11am to 3pm. The fair will feature market stalls, live music, a Santa's Grotto, tombola, and raffle – perfect for getting into the holiday spirit. Sandie Preece added: “We’re thrilled to host our Christmas Fair as we approach the festive season. It’s a wonderful way to bring together our residents, their families, and the local community for some festive fun and to support a good cause. We can’t wait to see everyone there.” For more information or to book a space at upcoming events, including the Wellbeing Café or Fish, Chips and Friendships, please contact Perdiswell Rose at 01905 918090 or email info@perdiswellrose.co.uk.
