Celebrating World Food Day at Blackthorns Care Home

Residents and staff at Blackthorns Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, recently came together to celebrate World Food Day with a vibrant and flavourful cultural event.

The day was filled with delicious aromas and colourful displays as staff dressed in traditional costumes and prepared a wide variety of authentic dishes from around the world. These culinary creations were shared with residents and colleagues, creating an atmosphere of joy and togetherness.

Home Manager at Blackthorns, Flavia Poplauschi commented: "It’s important for staff to share their culture with residents. Residents absolutely loved trying the dishes from across the world and have enjoyed learning about different cultures. "

Both residents and staff participated in the festivities, enjoying the opportunity to taste new cuisines and learn more about different traditions. The atmosphere throughout the day was lively and cheerful, with smiles and laughter filling the home.

This celebration built on the success of last year’s Multicultural Day, which was so warmly received that the team decided to host a similar event again this year.
