Dorothy’s 100th Birthday Brings Joy to Chalkwell Grange

Chalkwell Grange Care Home, part of the Sanders Senior Living Group, was filled with joy and celebration on Sunday, 2nd November, as resident, Dorothy, marked an incredible milestone, her 100th birthday.

To honour the occasion, the home hosted a special afternoon tea for Dorothy and her family, with fifteen loved ones in attendance. The event featured delicious treats prepared by Chalkwell Grange’s catering team, creating a warm and festive atmosphere filled with laughter, music, and fond memories.

One of the standout moments of the day was the presentation of a personal letter from His Majesty the King, congratulating Dorothy on reaching her centenary, a touching moment that brought smiles and a few happy tears.

Dorothy herself shared her delight, saying, “I hope I make it to the news!”

Her daughter-in-law, Jan, expressed heartfelt thanks to the Chalkwell Grange team:

“Thank you all so much for helping us make Dorothy’s 100th birthday such a special day. Important memories were made for grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We are all grateful for everyone who worked so hard, and for a delicious afternoon tea!”
