New Initiative Supporting Communities through Winter Pressures Period

Danforth Care Homes have announced a major community-focused initiative to support older people and local health services throughout the winter months.

Across all its care homes nationwide, the Group will open its doors for a series of regular ‘Winter Warmer’ events. The initiative is designed to combat loneliness and social isolation by offering a warm, friendly and welcoming environment for older people and their carers. Events will include weekly cake and coffee mornings, hearty pie and pea luncheons, ‘spare chair’ Sunday roasts, and comforting soup and stew evenings, all aimed at building local connections and community spirit.

In a parallel effort to support the local NHS and Health and Social Care Partners, Danforth Care Homes will also host a “Step into Winter” networking event at every one of its homes on November 11th from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. This event is specifically for professionals from the local NHS and social care services, providing a valuable opportunity to connect, share best practices and discuss collaborative strategies for supporting the most vulnerable in the community during the challenging winter season.
