It was a very happy experience for me. I come from 3 weeks in 2 hospitals (in Portugal, private and here). I was greeted with warmth and shown to a beautiful room, which was to be my home for 2 weeks of recuperation. Staff come to mark my clothes and others to take me on a tour. Everywhere was beautiful
and staff so friendly. I felt at home. Food was tasty (too much), and I put on weight. I was sorry to leave, but will be in again if I need to. Would recommend.

My dad stayed at Samuel House for 2 weeks respite care. He thoroughly enjoyed his "holiday" and is keen to go back for another stay. Very welcoming atmosphere. His room was very clean and comfortable and he enjoyed spending time in the lounge and dining room. The food was fabulous and we were encouraged
to join him for meals. All the staff were very kind and welcoming and we found nothing was too much trouble for them. There were lots of activities planned throughout the day including a trip to the pub. The highlight of the stay was the staff. All very kind, hardworking and thoughtful.

When I went to look round the home I was made so welcome. Gave me the confidence to know that this is the right place for my mum. The home is beautiful and clean. The food is good and nourishing. My mum moved from a different home. She was unhealthy and underweight. She is now thriving. The care is
excellent . She gets her hair done and has chiropody treatment. She looks healthy, clean and tidy. The staff are lovely. Very jolly and friendly. There's a lovely feel in the home. Excellent

My mother at 91 arrived at Harbour Manor after being discharged from hospital from receiving surgery for a broken hip.
Harbour Manor were presented with what I would describe as extremely challenging needs for my mum.
Two months on I'm delighted to say through their du diligence, exemplary care and
outstanding empathy my mother is now enjoying her time at Harbour Manor.
They constantly go the extra mile including driving to Ipswich at 8pm on a Saturday evening to collect urgent medication.
The monthly activity calendar has something for everyone, check social media.
The management of the home headed by Maxine, who has created a real family unit of staff, all supportive, kind and in my view treating all residents with the individual care and support they need.
My mum had eight months in a previous care home that caused her so much distress, Harbour Manor has truly helped her and is teaching me to be her son again not her carer, this review is written with heartfelt thanks . Gary

Since Robert moved into Heatherton House Care Home at the end of September, I have seen some really positive changes in Robert. He is very happy and well settled. He is really enjoying all the activities, and he is enjoying the company of other residents and staff. Robert feels safe and secure here.
He benefits from routine and knowing all his meals and other needs are met. For Robert, his own ensuite is extremely helpful because of his personal needs. The cleanliness has also helped Robert to feel comfortable. Having an outside space for Robert to wander around and have fresh air, and meet the local cat, have also been a bonus.

It's wonderful to know he feels happy, safe, and supported, and that he is enjoying the activities, the company of other residents, and our team.
We're especially pleased that his ensuite room, the cleanliness of the home, and the outdoor space have helped him feel comfortable and at ease. Providing a calm, routine-based environment where residents can thrive is very important to us.

The care home was recommended to me by a hospital for 2 weeks respite care after knee replacement surgery. It gave me a place to rest & recover from the initial period when I couldn't cope on my own. The staff were friendly and welcoming from the outset, understanding that my main focus was recovery
rather than joining in with all the activities. The food was excellent as soon as the main chef came back from her holiday, meeting my vegetarian needs. My overall experience was of a warm & caring place who treated everyone as an individual. Thank you.

My lovely Mum came to stay in Samuel House while my partner & I had a short holiday. I was very nervous about leaving her, this was the first time since she has needed round the clock care. As soon as we arrived, we were both made so welcome, such lovely, friendly, caring staff. Mum's room was so
lovely, everything she could need was to hand. I unpacked for her & made sure she was settled & must admit I did shed a few tears when I left her. I felt confident though that she would be well cared for, & I had no need to worry. Mum couldn't praise the staff enough when I picked her up at the end of the break, she said to food was excellent too. I was very impressed with Samuel House, it's an extraordinary care home, we will definitely be using it again for all Mum's respite care. Thankyou so much to all the wonderful staff.

My mother was a resident from July 2024-Dec 2024 when she was asked to leave due to her challenging dementia behaviour. The home is lovely and clean but they cannot say that they are dementia friendly. They called me constantly complaining about my mum and called the ambulance numerous times as my mum
was so wound up she had panic attacks. My mum has moved and is like a new woman where she is now. So much happier, no anxiety and they never call me complaining. Sid Bailey is a lovely care home but they cannot treat dementia patients with the patience and respect they deserve.

At first, we loved everything about Harbour Manor; everyone seemed to love staying here, including my dad. but recently, they have let us down extremely badly. It may all look very nice and all the staff seem friendly and helpful, but it's the quality of care that is important..
Reply from Amy Batchelor, Customer Relations Manager at Harbour ManorThank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We always aim to provide high-quality care and support to everyone who stays with us. Following a later review, it was determined that the level of care required was outside the scope of our current registration. While such decisions are never taken lightly, we must always ensure that we can safely and appropriately meet the needs of all those in our care, as well as maintain the wellbeing of our residents and team. We wish you all the best for the future.

We moved my mum into your home after being in Hospital. Then being moved into another (totally unappropriate care home) We found your staff to be so very helpful and considerate to our concerns, they made this move so easy and settled Mum with friendly, helpful and caring staff. We feel so relived to
have Mum in an environment which she will enjoy and be able to call her 'New Home'. Thank you for making the process easier for myself.

Dad had a lovely time, it was nice to see him join in various activities.
I was happy the staff came up instantly to give him a 'welcome back' hug.
Our requests for a room with a busy view have always been managed. (Dad doesn't see many people/outside from his bungalow window).
Reply from Amy Batchelor, Customer Relations Manager at Sid BaileyThank you for your wonderful review, We're so pleased to hear that your dad had a great time and enjoyed taking part in the activities. It's always wonderful to see him getting involved. Our team were delighted to welcome him back with a hug, he's very much part of the family here. We're also glad we could accommodate the room with a busy view. We will look forward to seeing you both again soon.
