Harbour Manor

from G J (Son of Resident) published on 8 December 2025
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mother at 91 arrived at Harbour Manor after being discharged from hospital from receiving surgery for a broken hip.
Harbour Manor were presented with what I would describe as extremely challenging needs for my mum.
Two months on I'm delighted to say through their du diligence, exemplary care and
outstanding empathy my mother is now enjoying her time at Harbour Manor.
They constantly go the extra mile including driving to Ipswich at 8pm on a Saturday evening to collect urgent medication.
The monthly activity calendar has something for everyone, check social media.
The management of the home headed by Maxine, who has created a real family unit of staff, all supportive, kind and in my view treating all residents with the individual care and support they need.
My mum had eight months in a previous care home that caused her so much distress, Harbour Manor has truly helped her and is teaching me to be her son again not her carer, this review is written with heartfelt thanks . Gary

Primrose House

from Gill L (Daughter of Resident) published on 21 November 2025
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Primrose House is a really special place with a great culture of respect, filled with staff that go above and beyond for the residents. I feel very lucky we found it and extremely grateful that my dad got to spend his last days there, in comfort, attentively looked after by such skilled and gifted carers.
I would recommend it without hesitation.

My dad moved to Primrose House from Leicestershire to be nearer family, and he was warmly welcomed. With the carers quickly picking up on his unique sense of humour, love of Lego, and penchant for fruit juice he settled in no time. I was particularly impressed and pleased to see him out of his room, thanks to some gentle encouragement, and the way in which he was supported towards greater mobility. Unfortunately my dad's time at the home was far too short but the whole team's approach to his last days was amazing. I do hope they all know what a wonderful job they do, how very important it is, and how much we've appreciated them.

Reply from Amy Batchelor, Customer Relations Manager at Primrose HouseThank you so much for sharing such a deeply heartfelt and meaningful review.
It's wonderful to hear how warmly he felt welcomed, and how quickly our carers got to know and appreciate his personality, his sense of humour and his love of lego. These small but important details are what help us create genuine, person-centred care, and we're so pleased he was able to settle in and feel at home. Seeing him out of his room, engaging more, and growing in confidence and mobility meant a great deal to the team.
Although his time at Primrose House was far too short, we are humbled that you felt supported during such an emotional period. Your recognition of the team's compassion and dedication, especially in his final days, means more than we can express. We will ensure your words are shared with the whole team. It has been a privilege to care for your dad, and we offer our warmest thoughts to you and your family.

My father has spent two wonderful weeks of respite care at Coronation House, Thetford. He has always said at our visits how lovely this 'place' has been and how kind everyone has been to him. He has enjoyed a very good break.
- I have worked on the catering team in two care homes elsewhere and have
NEVER experienced the welcome or genuine care shown by ALL members of staff. Well done all of you.
Reply from Amy Batchelor, Customer Relations Manager at Coronation HouseThank you so much for taking the time to share such a heartfelt review. We're delighted to hear that your father enjoyed his two weeks of respite care at Coronation House and that he felt so welcomed and well looked after during his stay.
It truly means a great deal to us to know that he found the home to be a lovely place and that our team's kindness made such a positive impression. Hearing this from someone with experience working in care homes themselves is especially meaningful, and we are incredibly proud of our staff for delivering the genuine care and warmth you describe.
We're so pleased your father had a good break, and we hope to welcome him back again whenever he may need us. Thank you once again for your kind words they are deeply appreciated by the whole team.

Since Robert moved into Heatherton House Care Home at the end of September, I have seen some really positive changes in Robert. He is very happy and well settled. He is really enjoying all the activities, and he is enjoying the company of other residents and staff. Robert feels safe and secure here.
He benefits from routine and knowing all his meals and other needs are met. For Robert, his own ensuite is extremely helpful because of his personal needs. The cleanliness has also helped Robert to feel comfortable. Having an outside space for Robert to wander around and have fresh air, and meet the local cat, have also been a bonus.
Reply from Amy Batchelor, Customer Relations Manager at Heatherton HouseThank you so much for sharing such a thoughtful and heartfelt review. We're delighted to hear that your brother has settled in so well since moving to Heatherton House Care Home. It's wonderful to know he feels happy, safe, and supported, and that he is enjoying the activities, the company of other residents, and our team.
We're especially pleased that his ensuite room, the cleanliness of the home, and the outdoor space have helped him feel comfortable and at ease. Providing a calm, routine-based environment where residents can thrive is very important to us.
Thank you again for your kind words they mean a great deal to our whole team. If there is ever anything more we can do to support please don't hesitate to let us know.

The care home was recommended to me by a hospital for 2 weeks respite care after knee replacement surgery. It gave me a place to rest & recover from the initial period when I couldn't cope on my own. The staff were friendly and welcoming from the outset, understanding that my main focus was recovery
rather than joining in with all the activities. The food was excellent as soon as the main chef came back from her holiday, meeting my vegetarian needs. My overall experience was of a warm & caring place who treated everyone as an individual. Thank you.

Mum at Primrose House for respite while we went on holiday. We had visited twice and very impressed with environment, facilities and cleanliness as well as friendliness and professional staff. Mum greeted and helped to unpack etc. She enjoyed her stay and said all the meals were very good and staff
lovely. All clothes clean and packed - though some underwear and t-shirts a bit 'grey' - maybe washed too hot? Would use again and would happily recommend.
Reply from Amy Batchelor, Customer Relations Manager at Primrose HouseThank you so much for taking the time to share your kind feedback. We're delighted to hear that your mum enjoyed her respite stay at Primrose House and that you found the environment, facilities, and staff so welcoming and professional. It's lovely to know she was well cared for and happy with her meals and support during her stay.

We also appreciate your comment about the laundry - we'll share this with our housekeeping team to make sure all washing is handled as gently as possible.

Thank you again for your recommendation and for trusting us with your mum's care. We'd be very happy to welcome her back anytime.

The building is new and therefore is still very stark and clean hopefully as the residents fill the space it will appear more welcoming. This is not to say that you are not made to feel welcome by the staff because on the whole everyone is very friendly helpful and welcoming. My mother has only just
finished her trial period therefore it is difficult to make judgments on all the areas. Her health and general well being have improved since she has been at Woodlands and she is definitely more mobile.
Reply from Amy Batchelor, Customer Relations Manager at Woodland Court Care HomeThank you very much for sharing your thoughtful feedback. We're so pleased to hear that your mother has settled in well at Woodlands and that her health and mobility have improved since joining us.

We also appreciate your comments about the building and environment. As our home is still new, we agree that it will continue to gain warmth and character as our residents make it their own, and we're excited to see that happen.

It's lovely to know you've felt welcomed and supported by our friendly team. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience - we look forward to continuing to care for your mother and to seeing her thrive with us.

My lovely Mum came to stay in Samuel House while my partner & I had a short holiday. I was very nervous about leaving her, this was the first time since she has needed round the clock care. As soon as we arrived, we were both made so welcome, such lovely, friendly, caring staff. Mum's room was so
lovely, everything she could need was to hand. I unpacked for her & made sure she was settled & must admit I did shed a few tears when I left her. I felt confident though that she would be well cared for, & I had no need to worry. Mum couldn't praise the staff enough when I picked her up at the end of the break, she said to food was excellent too. I was very impressed with Samuel House, it's an extraordinary care home, we will definitely be using it again for all Mum's respite care. Thankyou so much to all the wonderful staff.

I stayed at Holly Grange House from 09/102025 - 28/10/2025. I found the home to be excellent in every way nothing was too much trouble to any member of staff. It was like being at home. When the time comes that I have to stay in a home permanently I would like to think I could stay at this home. I certainly
felt at home. The food was excellent and I enjoyed my stay, can't speak highly enough of it.

Waterhouse Manor

From the initial phone call to enquire about my Mum becoming a resident at Waterhouse, the visits with Mum, and her staying there, we are very impressed with everything. The staff are wonderful, I'm so impressed with their attention to detail, how they approach and care for every resident. There was
a problem with a resident one day and it was handled in a very good, calm, patient and soothing way.
We really like that all the staff know each resident, not just by name but what their personality is and their needs. The home itself is extremely well set out with separate lounges and dining rooms so that if someone wants to be alone they can usually sit quietly but not have to go to their room, which are stunning. My Mum is usually reserved and quiet, never putting herself forward, but she seems to be mixing really well with the other residents and staff, she's slowly 'coming out of her shell' which we really love. Knowing Mum is safe and very well cared for gives us peace of mind.
Reply from Amy Batchelor, Customer Relations Manager at Waterhouse ManorThank you so much for taking the time to share such a heartfelt review. We're truly delighted to hear how happy your mum is at Waterhouse and that she's beginning to come out of her shell, that's exactly the kind of outcome we hope for. Our team works hard to provide personalised care and a calm, welcoming environment where every resident feels valued and at home. It's wonderful to know that this has made a positive difference for your mum and given you peace of mind. Your kind words mean so much to all of us
