She settled in well and has enjoyed the luxury accommodation, meals and activities since that date.
All staff, from Manager, Admin staff, Senior care staff, carers, cleaners, maintenance staff and kitchen staff alike have treated my mother with kindness and a caring attitude. I am confident that she is treated with respect and always taken well care of. I wouldn't want her to live anywhere else. Should I myself, require respite or permanent care, Old Norse Lodge would be my first choice. The rooms and surroundings are like a first class hotel and has become known as " That posh home" by hospital staff when mum has had to attend for appointments or care.
First Class!!!
I'd like to thank all the carers at Old Norse Lodge, Scartho, Grimsby for trying their best in providing the best possible care for our 92 year old mother who has moderate to severe dementia. In particular I'd like to thank Kelly for finding and returning my wallet which had fallen out of my pocket whilst I was visiting my mother one night and Nick for his seemingly endless patience and desire to understand my mother's needs as she doesn't always have the mental capacity to know for herself what she wants.
Small things need looking into.
Thank you for your feedback - we're pleased to hear that your overall stay was pleasant. We appreciate you highlighting the smaller details, as these can make a real difference to the overall experience. Breakfast trays should be cleared promptly, and we will ensure staff are reminded of this. We...
Mum has been at the home for coming up to 2 years now and I have not regretted my choice of home once. Her room is well appointed and the staff are caring and considerate. Due to an increase in high dependency residents on mum's floor of the home it does put the limited number of staff under a lot of pressure and I feel it just needs one more carer to lift the score back to 5 stars.
Thank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to share your experience. We're truly pleased to hear that you've been happy with the care your mum has received over the past two years, and that our team's compassion and dedication have made a positive impact. We understand your...
Having trialed my dad in various care homes in Linchonshire and South Humberside for respite and thoroughly checked many others in the area I believe from witnessing my dads experience in Old Norse care home there is no other care home that matches the high standards of care facilities, general wellbeing of residents that this home provides. A lot of care homes in the area are not providing the food standards or activities they profess to provide and Old Norse Lodge does. I have highly recommended to family , friends and people I meet. Fantastic manager leading the team.
Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful words. We are truly honored that you chose Old Norse Lodge for your dad's care and that your experience with us stood out among the many homes you've considered.Providing high standards in care, food, activities, and overall wellbeing is at the heart...
My father in law has only been a resident for a few days but the staff and care have been very comforting He has enjoyed his showers and food and the staff have been very kind and caring this far. We all enjoyed GATSBY evening on his birthday.
My mother comes for daycare and respite. She enjoys the time here, especially the food. The staff treat her with kindness and affection.
Thank you for your review, I am so pleased your mother enjoys coming in for Daycare and her respite stays at Old Norse Lodge. I will ensure our wonderful chef receives your feedback regarding the food. Thank you.
As a family, we were very impressed with the level of care. My mum had a couple of episodes of vomiting and diarrhea. The staff handled Mum with great compassion and dignity, but then went on to assess Mum's condition. They quickly realised she was ill and arranged for her to have medical assessment. They didn't just clean her up. They looked for the cause. We have great confidence in the staff.
Thank you for your wonderful review, I am so pleased you are happy with the care Mum receives at Old Norse Lodge and the staff have filled you and your family with confidence. Thank you.
What a team! An initial family decision that my father-in-law needed respite, quickly led us to understand that the care, support and environment of Old Norse Lodge could not be matched. The individual care and familiar staff are perfect for him and anyone who requires wrap-around care in an environment, much like a hotel.

All the staff are very supportive. Very clean, with lots of facilities and choices of meals and activities. Welcomed us as a family. Nursing care is second to none. Two staff members in particular are awesome, another very caring and all cleaners and staff in general do all they can to help and are friendly. They are very patient, attentive and busy. One staff member, in particular, stands out, great rapport with all and a sense of humour. Pleased our Mum is in a place that is loving and caring. Feel settled and not worried about her care there. Thank you for supporting this new phase in our lives which is difficult.

My friend is happy and relaxed. She has settled very well. Her nutrition is so much better, reflected in her skin and hair being improved in condition.
Thank you for your wonderful review, I am so pleased your friend is happy and you can see the benefits from the care she is receiving. Thank you for taking the time to leave such a wonderful review.
I can't recommend Old Norse highly enough. All the staff are extremely friendly and actually seem to care about the residents. I cannot say the same of other care settings we have used. From day one, Mum has been welcomed and cared for with great compassion and dignity. The home itself is well-appointed and kept spotlessly clean. Every member of staff and management should be applauded for their efforts and dedication to the residents they care for.
Thank you for your wonderful review, I am so pleased Mum has settled so well at Old Norse Lodge. Thank you for your kind words about the staff, they all pride themselves on delivering outstanding care and your review confirms the fantastic work they all do. Thank you.
My mum has been a resident since May 2024. I looked at a number of care homes in the area and only a couple I felt lived up to my expectations and those of Mum's. Old Norse Lodge just felt like a homely place and the home is immaculately clean. The staff are very friendly and professional. My mum often says they're like extended family. As I don't live in the area I have complete peace of mind that she is being cared for. Thanks to everyone again for being there for her!

Very good home. Friendly staff. Could do with more carers.
The care given to my mum has been exceptional. All the staff show empathy and respect to my mum and also to my family and to myself. They address her individual needs on a daily basis and nothing is too much trouble. The food is excellent and the environment is light, bright and very relaxing. Cleanliness is also excellent. I cannot fault anything about Old Norse House.

Meet the Team (1)

I have been actively involved in the care sector since 2011. My journey began as a domestic in a residential/dementia home, where I transitioned into the role of a care assistant. It was during this time that I discovered my true passion for a caring role.
I am committed to delivering the highest quality of care in a person-centred manner and within a homely environment. I lead a strong and passionate team that shares my dedication, maintaining high standards and a similar drive.
Outside of my professional commitments, I find enjoyment in reading, going to the gym, and socialising with friends and family.
