I like also the many activities that are on offer to all the residents. I cannot really say anything else because I really, really rate

Forrester Court

from A S (Daughter of Resident) published on 23 December 2025
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Since my father moved into Forrester Court, I have seen a significant improvement in his overall health, wellbeing and stability. The environment seems to suit him very well and he has settled far better than I expected, especially considering his cognitive difficulties. This is the most settled, calm,
and safe I have seen him in a long time.
The routine, structure and consistency have clearly helped him. He appears more relaxed, engaged and less confused. Staff have been supportive and patient with him and it is reassuring to know that he has people around him who understand his needs and respond appropriately.
Forrester Court has provided the stability he could not achieve at home. The improvements in his behaviour, mood and daily functioning show that this setting is meeting his needs in a way that feels safe and consistent.
I appreciate the efforts of the team and I am grateful for the positive impact this placement has had on him.
Thankyou to everyone at Forrester Court.

Overall experience as a visitor is excellent. The resident I visit is sometimes left in bed in the mornings quite late. He needs to be got up earlier.
Staff are all friendly, and there is a good ambience in the communal lounge whenever I visit.

Exceptional care from carers, nursing staff and management carried out with compassion, patience, in a friendly manner. They are always 'a step ahead of me' with my husbands needs. This takes a tremendous weight of worry off my shoulders knowing that my husband is so well looked after and treated with
dignity at all times.

Ponteland Manor

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mum was a resident with nursing care at Ponteland Manor for 5 years. She arrived from another local care home in a neglected state, very unwell and we didn't think she would survive. However, the nursing care, love and compassion shown to my mum from the start at Ponteland was outstanding.
Every
member of the team showed these qualities throughout, including the carers, nurses, catering, cleaners, manager and reception. They treated her with great respect, dignity and as part of their family. It didn't matter which job their description was, they all acted as carers to each individual resident. They would join in on activities and had many interesting conversations with the residents, when mum passed everything was made as dignified, understanding a easy for the relatives, offering a shoulder to cry on. I was very touched by the words of condolences and comfort given by the staff. A very long thank you to each and individual member of the team for helping mum and our family throughout this difficult time.

Since my mum has been at Perry Manor we as a family have been very happy with the level of care she has received, all the staff seem to tend to Mum's needs and know her very well. The manager of the Bluebell Suite I would like to especially praise, he goes above and beyond and nothing is too much trouble,
he sits and talks and answers all our questions. The home is always of a clean standard.

The home is amazing. From the kitchen to the cleaners, to all the carers. Everybody cares and every resident matters. The Bluebell Suite manager in particular is the most caring, gentle, trustworthy soul who Linda would shout from the rooftops about if she could. Thank you! x

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mother has been a resident at Mountbatten Grange for 18+ months and is happy, safe and engaged with the community. We're all very satisfied with the care and attention that she receives on a daily basis. The staff are attentive, caring, compassionate and fun.
Her friends and the rest of my family
enjoy visiting her but more importantly, cannot express how grateful we are to now that she is safe and being well looked after.
She moved into the facility having been taken ill and spending several weeks in hospital. Since moving to Mountbatten, the improvements to her health and overall well-being are marked. The daily activities keep her mind sharp and she enjoys the entertainment and pamper days.
I visited a number of places before we settled on Mountbatten and we're all very happy with the decision.

Cairdean House

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My wife's dementia was accelerating and it was becoming increasingly difficult to look after her at home, even with the help of visiting carers. So I booked her into Cairdean. I took her there in my car and was met at the front door by staff with a wheel chair. We were taken to her very well appointed
room. She was given a most comfortable reclining wheelchair so it is now easy to move her around the home. The staff are so kind and caring, not only to my wife but also to me. The facilities are first rate, with a comfortable cafe where a wide range of activities is laid on. Visiting singers, a Christmas party and other entertainment. The food is exceptional, enticing menus for lunch and dinner - they even allow me to partake! I am also being given a Christmas meal with my wife on the day. It was a wrench for me to see my wife depart our home, but I am very happy she is now in the right place. Wonderful caring staff, excellent facilities, great food, lovely for my wife and for me also.

My ex step Mother passed away peacefully on Friday 12th December. She was 96 years old and had two carers with her. She had been in Stanecroft for over 4 years. ALL the staff have been fantastic. This goes from the kitchen staff, cleaners, handyman, carers. Accounts department and the management. I
would recommend this care home to anyone. On top of the usual day/ night care they have an activities every day. Trips out. Even an in house hair dresser. A Big Thank you

Ambleside

Mum has been in Ambleside for 6weeks now, has really settled in well. I am so pleased to see a real change in her, she has had a very difficult year especially the last 6months. Loosing her husband of 74years dealing with ill health and numerous trips to hospital. At last she can relax and let all
the very kind staff look after her, which they do right from management, all carers, kitchen staff, and of course the kind maintenance man and gardener man who waves to her when he passes her window. She participates in the activities which the home put on again by very hard working staff.
She has had a change of room, now in a lovely newly decorated and all new furniture, the staff concern moved all her possessions, the family did not have to worry about anything.
Finally I would really recommend their coffee and cake station a lovely touch.
Reply from Staci Reeson, Reviews Team at AmblesideThank you very much for taking the time to leave a review, we are very happy that mum has settled in so well, your family are a fantastic addition to ours here at Ambleside. It has been a real pleasure to get to know you all. We will see you in the Bistro for coffee and cake very soon.

Bourley Grange

Mum was nervous about moving into a care home as she had been totally independent before circumstances changed and she needed to be in a environment where she was comfortable and looked after but still able to be a little independent.
Bourley Grange have been wonderful, within a week of mum moving
in she was so happy and enjoying herself. Mums just celebrated her 97th birthday and she was made to feel special, with an absolutely beautiful cake.
Day to day activities and outings are always fun. Food is always great and visitors are always welcome to join mum for lunch.
I can see how much mum is enjoying her new home and we are happy that we made the right choice with choosing Bourley Grange.

When I arrived at Ancasta Grove I was greeted by a lovely receptionist , the place was inviting and very clean.
Lovely decorated for Christmas and staff looked happy and even though they looked busy they stopped to chat.
I took my friend round the garden which is absolutely beautiful even at this
time of year.

My husband has been in Kenilworth Grange for the last 3 yrs and is very settled there. The Carers are always on call and treat him with dignity. The Nurses are excellent and are very patient and chatty with him. He has a very healthy appetite and enjoys the food there, especially the full breakfast
every morning. There are lots of activities each day and they are very varied.
