Hartismere Place

from S A (Niece of Resident) published on 10 February 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My uncle has been with you for rest-bite care. I have been visiting him with my Aunt.
Immediately on entering we were met by staff, who knew my uncle by name. The environment feels that residents come first. The reception is very welcoming & the open area with a coffee shop meant that we call meet
up away from his room was a great feature.
It was nice to see staff interacting with residents even just an acknowledgement as they went past each other.
I have experience of nursing homes as a relative with elderly parents & as a nurse tutor visiting care homes with students on placement. Your home beats them all. Keep up the good and vital work.

good as it could possibly be. You are all wonderful people, working so hard, in difficult circumstances and we are so grateful to every single one of you.

Overall the experience visiting Grangewood everyday to see my husband over 4 1/2 yrs has been one of the staff being kind caring helping in situations of concern and anxious times. There have been many. Without management and staff carers domestics senior staff and admin life would be very difficult.
The easy conversations the fun and activities are a welcomed break from the tough days when a loved one is unwell. They care for residents and family and friends are always welcomed to Grangewood. The food is good to excellent staff carers work very hard to achieve team work.

My sister-in-law celebrated her 103rd Birthday on Sunday 1st Feb and Oak House arranged two magnificent parties one for residents and guests in the morning and one for the family in the afternoon. Both rooms were decorated beautifully, catering excellent and the staff outstanding. Entertainment first
class and a visit from the Mayor a great bonus. Enjoyed by everyone especially the Birthday Girl.
Thank you Oak House.

We can't speak highly enough of this facility, moreover the absolutely brilliant and caring staff.
Mum spent her final weeks here and we are so, so grateful for the compassionate and professional care that she received. Nothing was too much trouble and Mums every need was met with abundance.
As
a family, we couldn't have asked for anything more.

Cuttlebrook Hall have helped us immensely in a difficult time of trying to find a care home for Mum, who has Dementia, and Dad, who has Parkinson's. They have very different needs but still want to be, and should be together. The staff, at all levels have been amazing in accommodating their care requirements,
in different wings, but also they are able to spend time and eat together as they wish.
From my first enquiry and initial visit, to Mum and Dad moving in, the whole process was professional and clearly explained. As soon as they arrived, they were treated with kindness and respect and I have been regularly updated on how they are settling in and their care plans. There are so many activities for them as a couple and as individuals, I am confident they can both get a lot out of their life at Cuttlebrook Hall. And the rooms are beautiful. Thank you!

So we were moving our mum to Franklin house due to her last care home not being very good. From the moment we walked into Franklin house we were made to fill so welcome. Tracy went above and beyond for us and Mathew and Christina were also fantastic. Unfortunately our mum passed away before we could
move her all the staff were so kind and caring I would 100% recommend Franklin house to anyone who is looking to put a loved one into a care home. This is not an easy decision but Franklin house made it so much easier

The initial three-week respite period and the short tenure as a permanent resident, made a huge difference in her mental stimulation, ensuring her days were full of professional care, compassion by the very attentive care workers and stimulating activities to participate in, coupled with comprehensive
nursing as required.
In every conversation and discussion, the family have had since mother's passing we have been full of praise of the positive experience that mother had at Foxbridge House Care Home was a huge relief for the family to know that she was in a very safe and secure care environment.
Since her passing, our family has consistently praised the positive experience at Foxbridge House Care Home. The care and well being team are fully committed to looking after my mother. The only issue I have is that having purchased several hearing aids (at least 4 pairs!) since my mother has been residing at Seacroft Grange they have all gone missing!!

What a lovely care home all of the staff are so friendly and caring, rooms are kept spotlessly clean, laundry is washed ironed and put back into the rooms, dining rooms all laid out and lovely food served to the residents the staff help anyone that needs help, if your bed bound they ask you what you
would like and bring it to you and help you eat it if needed, down stairs coffee, cold drinks, cakes, pastry's and a lovely bowl of fresh fruit which you can help yourself to. Mums stay wasn't very long as she sadly passed away but while she was there she was very well cared for.

I find the staff (including management) all to be extremely friendly, whilst at the same time professional in their approach. The activities are excellent, varied and fun to participate in. The building is kept in an excellent, clean manner. The food is also of a very high standard, however on occasion
the main meals can lack variety ie Chinese/curry at the same time with no choice on meat and two veg. However sandwiches are available on request at any time which helps.
Reply from Samantha Debenham, Reviews Team at Chandler CourtThank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback regarding Chandler Court. We are delighted to hear your kind comments about the staff, management, activities programme, cleanliness, and the food quality. Your kind recognition is very much appreciated by the whole team.
We also value your feedback regarding menu variety at mealtimes. Providing enjoyable and nutritious meals is very important to us, and we understand that choice plays a key role in the residents' satisfaction. Please be assured your comments have been shared with our catering team and are being used to review menu planning, particularly around offering greater variety and clearer options at main meals.
We are pleased that alternative options, such as sandwiches, are available on request, and we will continue to look for ways to improve choice while meeting dietary needs and preferences.
Thank you again for your thoughtful review and for helping us continue to improve our service.

Mum wasn't sure about moving into a care home, even though she needed 24/7 care. After just one week there, she said she wished she had agreed sooner.

Mum's one wish was simply to have a proper shower. At home, her house had slowly turned into a prison for her. When that wish finally came true, the

smile on her face - you would have thought she'd won the lottery.

The care home feels like one big family, where everyone is welcome. The carers, nursing staff, and management are unbelievable and truly go above and beyond, not just for the residents but for their families too.

Cuttlebrook isn't just a care home, it is a community that cares.
The staff are dedicated, professional and infectiously positive. It is impossible not to smile when everyone is greeted personally and nothing appears too much trouble.
Mum has been welcomed into the Cuttlebrook community and her individual
needs met in the very best way possible, and after only a very short while feels safe, is eating better and joining in a variety of activities!

Our families would like to express our sincere thanks for the care, kindness and professionalism shown to our uncle, especially in his final days. The end-of-life care he received was compassionate and respectful. On the night he passed away, staff were attentive and gently kept us informed as he became
close to the end. They arranged music he would have enjoyed, which brought comfort and peace in his final moments. These thoughtful actions meant a great deal to us. The carers showed genuine kindness, bringing food so we could stay with him and ensuring family members felt welcome and supported. Reception staff were always warm and reassuring, and nursing staff were empathetic, honest and professional throughout. We also appreciated the welcoming tea and coffee communal area and the cakes, which offered comfort during long and emotional visits. As a family, we felt listened to and included, and our uncle was treated with dignity and compassion right until the end of his life.
