My friend became a resident two years ago. His stay was made welcome by all the staff, no matter what role they did. His stay at Magna care home was a very happy one. The staff made him feel comfortable and happy. He couldn't want for a better place to stay during his end-of-life care. I'm totally grateful

My mother in law has been in the home for only a few months but we all feel that she is very well looked after and that the carers are all taking the time out to get to know her and what she needs. Being a difficult time for everyone that is related to Terri is so hard and heartbreaking at times. The
support we get as a family is amazing and we really appreciate everything the care home does.

I am extremely at Mayfield View. In fact I would say that if one is not happy at Mayfield View where would one be happy? There are minor irritations, but where in life are there no irritations? I enjoy the independence that I am given, yet I am relieved to know that help is available should I need it.
The food is very much improved from the time I arrived here 21/2 years ago. There is imagination in the choice of menus, which cannot
be easy as so many dietary needs must be covered. Sometimes the cooking of vegetables is a little disappointing. They can be overcooked and soggy. The carers and the other staff are generally very approachable, understanding and anxious to help, often doing more than is absolutely necessary at the time. It is most interesting to talk to them and hear about their individual families and lives, when they have the time to do so. One or two of the night staff can seem surly and unforthcoming at times.
Reply from Samantha Debenham, Reviews Team at Mayfield ViewWe would like to thank you for taking the time to provide such wonderful feedback regarding Mayfield View.
We are so pleased to hear that you are extremely happy at the home and that you find the staff to be approachable, understanding and anxious to help and enjoy spending time talking to them. They hold themselves to a very high standard and will appreciate your kind words as they continue their hard work. We are also pleased to hear that you find the food to have improved and the menu choices to have imagination.
We are sorry to read of your concerns regarding the vegetables and some of the night staff. Your feedback is imperative to us to enable reflection and positive change to take place. Please be assured that the Home Manager will address these concerns and would be happy to further discuss them with you.
We hope you continue to enjoy your time at Mayfield View and thank you again.

My mother has been a resident since mid February when she was discharged from hospital. The care she has received has been excellent, the staff have kept us well informed and acted promptly on any concerns we may have. The activities provided are many and varied - exercise classes, craft sessions, singing
sessions, trips out... she is encouraged to join in which has made a big difference to her mental well being, she no longer spends the day sleeping in front of TV. Orchard Manor is a purpose built care home and as a result is spacious and airy with wide corridors, large lounge areas and nice gardens.

Pear Tree House is a good quality building, nicely flitted out with wonderful caring staff. Over the past 6 months whilst being sold to Care UK, staffing levels have been allowed to fall to what appears to be a legal minimum. This remains the case and although it is being addressed, for now the great
staff are overstretched and lack the time to interact with residents. Residents needing assistance dressing often have long waits.
Any verbal requests from family members can be overlooked. Emails are recommended.
Food remains a constant complaint from residents. Any trips out are far and few between.
Hopefully things will improve when staffing levels increase.

I continue to give Weavers Court a really positive review, two and a half years after my Mum became a resident there.
The care remains amazing and very individually focussed. My Mum has some complex needs, which have always been met with careful consideration, team work and patience and mostly because
the staff know my Mum so well.
She is settled and at peace because of the warmth and kindness she is approached with each day. We receive the same warmth and kindness as she does, which we honestly appreciate more than words can say.
We have recently needed help from the management and financial administration staff and can't fault them and how much they have helped us. Having their support really helps at a tricky time.

My Mother has just finished her 4 week respite stay and has now moved on to permanent residency.
From my first visit at the beginning of March I cannot speak highly enough of Mayfield View.
Every aspect of the Homes staffing care is exemplary from the Management, Reception, Entertainments staff, the
Carers, and cleaners.
There is a wonderful feeling of calm and professionalism. The staff team members are all so welcoming and friendly and you can feel the genuine intimate care they have for the residents.
I am absolutely delighted my Mother is staying permanently as a resident.
Lastly the process of assessment, financial guidance and advice given to procure Mums stay was a very smooth journey.
Thank you all at Mayfield View.

My Dad moved into Cairdean just over a month ago. It was a huge decision for our family and the prospect of finding somewhere for Dad was intimidating to begin with. Due to a change in family circumstances we needed to find a place quickly. We approached Cairdean initially due to geography and reviews.
My husband and I were able to quickly arrange a visit and were very impressed right from the start. The staff member who showed us round was excellent. We had a follow up call from the customer relations manager and were able to bring Dad for a visit very quickly after our visit. We were treated with the utmost courtesy and respect and felt our needs were understood and individualised. Dad moved into Cairdean 3 days later. The moving in went extremely smoothly and we couldn't have wished for better. Dad is settling in well and there is regular ongoing communication and we really cannot commend the staff highly enough. We feel that Cairdean cares about our family as a whole.

My husband left hospital in January after suddenly being diagnosed with Parkinson, and deteriorated extremely quickly. Unable to walk unaided.
After looking at a few homes my family and I decided Darlington Court was our 1st choice. Luckily there was one room available.
He was visited in the hospital
by 2 of the staff from the home to check it would be suitable for him.
It was then arranged by them for a hospital car to take him directly to the home . His room had already been changed from pink to blue in preparation, and all his photos and memorabilia were soon put in his room.
His medication is being monitored well and being adjusted as necessary.
There is a daily activity program, a lovely secluded garden and a nice dining room with regular menu changes.
Snacks and drinks are always available.
Visitors are welcome at anytime with a lovely lounge area to use.

We were naturally apprehensive when moving Mum into a Care home as it was so important to us for Mum to be happy and well cared for. As soon as we walked into Appleby House for our first visit we felt welcome and at ease. The atmosphere was very buzzy with amazing indoor and outdoor facilities, happy
residents and the staff we met were so friendly.
Mum has since moved in and has a lovely room with her personal bits and pieces. The staff have been so kind and caring which has helped Mum to settle in quickly and is happy, enjoying the activities and socialising.
Thank you so much.

My 95 year old father in law spent 2 weeks respite care in Seacroft Grange after a 3 week stay in hospital.
He has poor mobility and is extremely deaf.
Every effort was made to keep to a routine as this is very important to him especially around mealtimes.
He had all his meals in the dining room
which we thought might be a problem for him.
He enjoyed the food which was good quality and well presented in the pleasant dining room.
Another big hurdle for him to overcome was accepting help with his personal care. He can no longer wash himself and is embarrassed. However 2 amazing young members of staff managed to coax him to have 4 showers.
This was beyond our expectations so huge credit to them!
His room was kept clean and was pleasant. However it was very small. The rooms initially shown were larger and so were the others nearby.
If he was in here full time we wouldn't
have accepted it. However for 2 weeks arranged at very short notice it was acceptable.
Reply from Samantha Debenham, Reviews Team at Seacroft GrangeWe would like to start by thanking you for your very kind feedback regarding Seacroft Grange. The team are heartened by your review and are deeply grateful to have spent time with your wonderful family. The team are incredibly proud of the work they do, and they readily go above and beyond for those entrusted to their care. We are pleased to see that this was reflected in your experience. We are sorry to hear that you felt your Father-in-law's room was small. Please be assured that should you require longer term care/respite care in the future; the team would be delighted to work with you in identifying a suitable room. We can confirm that there are rooms with a larger space and beautiful views within the home.
We do hope that you will keep us in mind if you require support moving forward as the team would be happy to provide this again.

There is such a good feeling about Mayfield View, from the moment you walk into the building everyone is lovely, from the warm welcome at reception to the carers and management team, they always take their time to say hello & have a chat.
My mother is law has been a resident for over 3 years from
mid stage dementia to now late stage dementia where she no longer recognises us. This has been a difficult transition for is all but the constant knowledge that she is being well cared for and safe at Mayfield View has been a massive weight taken off us. I have the relish app and can see the photos and joy in her face at the brilliant activities Julie and her team regularly organise ranging from silent disco (her favourite) to various animal visits. I am happy we chose Mayfield View it was the correct decision and I have no doubt it has lengthened the life of my mother in law and made her as happy and content as possible.

My father is in respite care at Norfolk House and I can't recommend it enough. I can visit any time and always receive a warm welcome which is extended to all residents there. Norfolk House is kept very clean, has great security measures to protect residents, and the quality of carers is plenty to ensure
each persons needs are met.
I was also pleased to see the continuity of carers, most of them we met 6 months ago when we were looking around. This must show Norfolk House as a good place to work and flows through to the happiness I see there.
