My father is and has been very happy with all the care and staff. I was very worried leaving him in restbite, as my father is all I have but now I can take restbite myself in the knowledge that my father is safe, happy and cared for 1000%.
Thankyou to each and everyone of you!

My mother moved into Field Lodge just before March and settled straight into the home and its very friendly and supportive atmosphere. Since then she has felt very at home and says hello to everyone, who say hello back. The level of care so far is very good and I would have no hesitation recommending
Field Lodge to anyone in a similar position. My mother has dementia, so has a few foibles and funny moments, but it has all gone smoothly.
Reply from Beverley Tyrrell, Reviews Team at Field LodgeThank you so much for taking the time to share such a heartwarming review.
It is wonderful to hear that your mother has settled in so well - she’s already a friendly, familiar face to everyone at Field Lodge!

We truly appreciate your kind words regarding our care team. We understand that navigating dementia comes with challenges, and our goal is always to ensure those moments are handled with the patience, dignity, and warmth your mother deserves.

Knowing that you would recommend us to others in a similar position means the world to our staff. We look forward to continuing to support your mother and making her feel right at home.

The feeling of warmth and the welcome is excellent as you enter Field Lodge, you feel that you are entering your family home with all the care that you would expect.
All questions and requests are dealt with in a courteous and professional way. It is not possible to criticise any part of Field Lodge
as it is a profession/calling of a position for all the management and staff.
Reply from Beverley Tyrrell, Reviews Team at Field LodgeThank you so much for your heartfelt review.
It is wonderful to hear that we have succeeded in creating a home-from-home environment, as we take great pride in treating every resident like a member of our own family. We strive every day to create an environment that balances professional excellence with genuine, personal care, so hearing that our team’s dedication shines through as a 'calling' is the highest compliment we could receive.
Our management and staff are incredibly passionate about what they do, and your kind words mean the world to us. We will be sure to share your feedback with the entire team - they will be so encouraged to know they’ve made such a positive impact.

Heathlands House

from M D (Friend of Resident) published on 11 March 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I wanted to write this because my dear friend was at Heathlands House for about a year before he sadly passed away recently, and I feel like people should know how much the place meant to him (and to us).
From the very first day he moved in, the staff made him feel welcomed and safe. He used to tell
me how kind everyone was, and how they always had time for a chat even when they were clearly busy. That meant so much, especially when his health started getting worse. Knowing he wasn't alone or just "another resident" gave me real comfort.
Every time I visited, the home was clean and calm, and there was always a nice atmosphere. The carers seemed to genuinely care, not just do a job. In his last few weeks, the team showed so much compassion and dignity towards him, and also towards us as his friends. I will never forget that.
Losing him has been incredibly hard, but I am truly grateful that his last year was spent somewhere he was looked after with respect and kindnesses. Thank you
Reply from Johan Molloy-Cruden, Reviews Team at Heathlands HouseThank you so much for taking the time to share such kind and thoughtful words about your friend’s time at Heathlands House.
We are truly sorry for your loss. It was a privilege for our team to care for him during the time he spent with us, and your message means a great deal to everyone here. Knowing that he felt welcomed, safe, and valued is exactly what we hope for every resident who becomes part of our community.
Our staff work very hard to ensure that residents are treated with compassion, dignity, and respect, and it is incredibly meaningful to hear that this was felt by both your friend and by those close to him.
Thank you again for sharing your experience and for trusting us to care for him.

The Care Home has a lovely welcoming atmosphere with staff trying very hard to please both residents and visitors. Despite clearly being short staffed at times, particularly at weekends, staff do listen carefully to comments and suggestions presented to them. However, perhaps owing to overload there
is not always evidence of follow through. The Care Home is well laid out with light and large sitting/dining rooms promoting a look and comfort closer to a good hotel rather than a care home. The bedrooms are excellent, very warm with plenty of storage space. My experience as a visitor has been very positive although I am not always sure that my father, who has dementia, is getting as much attention as I would prefer. There are many more female than male residents and lots of activities to keep most residents active, happy and involved. Alas my father has not really got involved with much and I recommended that more activities might be laid on that would be of greater interest to some men not into singing and dance. I note that this is already being reviewed and I wait to see if it is followed through.

We cannot fault Waterhouse Manor in everything and anything. We love the staff's attention to detail their care of everyone they obviously love their jobs and we get the feeling they like and care for the residents. When we've a problem however small its always been dealt with quickly with dignity ad
with excellent results. The food seems to be very good - the only complaint is the tea is made too weak and too milky. Full fat milk should not be put in tea it defeats the object of mum drinking enough.
Reply from Jessica Ellis, General Manager at Waterhouse ManorThank you so much for such a lovely review, this will be passed on to the team. Semi skimmed milk is available and has been added as preference to your mothers care plans. Thank you for your ongoing support, it is appreciated.

My mother came to the home for respite care following the death of her husband. The staff could not have been more helpful, encouraging her to join activities, moving her to a room where she had more company and finding her mobile phone for her! Her room is lovely and all the facilities are beautifuly
clean and well maintained.

I stayed with Heathlands House from 8th October to 22nd October to recover from a bad fall in Spain. The care I received was excellent. The staff were very efficient, professional and very caring. Nothing was lacking at all. The catering was better than any top class hotel I have visited around the

Moving a loved one into a care home can be one of the hardest decisions to make. Thankfully, Heathlands House made the whole transition smooth and mum settled in quickly. She's been on the ground floor for over a year now and is thriving. Heathlands feels like a home from home and what makes it truly
special is the staff - they genuinely care, don't use agencies, and go the extra mile. English isn't her first language, yet staff try to connect with her using the odd word or translator. We started at another care home so can say that the ratios here are better, and while no home can fully replicate 1:1 care, HH comes very close! The place is clean, the café area is sociable, with regular entertainment. Staff are wonderful and kind, and the food is excellent (especially the cakes!) There's a real sense of community; a Catholic priest even visits fortnightly to say Mass. Management are approachable, have high standards and are open to feedback. I wholeheartedly recommend Heathlands.

My Mum has been a resident for 1 year now, being one of the first to move in. From our very first visit, I knew Mum would be well cared for and happy. The staff are all amazing, the care and patience with everyone is reassuring. Facilities, activities and special events make this an outstanding care
home.
We are welcomed as one of the family whenever we visit. For Mum's 98th birthday last week they arranged for us to use one of the lounges, decorated with banners and provided an excellent afternoon tea, despite having a dog show and fete to organise the same day.
I cannot speak highly enough of all the staff at Waterhouse Manor, and would not hesitate to recommend the home for your loved one!

We moved my mum into your home after being in Hospital. Then being moved into another (totally unappropriate care home) We found your staff to be so very helpful and considerate to our concerns, they made this move so easy and settled Mum with friendly, helpful and caring staff. We feel so relived to
have Mum in an environment which she will enjoy and be able to call her 'New Home'. Thank you for making the process easier for myself.
