Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I am extremely happy with Bishops Manor and the way they care for Mum.
Every person who works there offers care in a very special way.
Mum arrived there very frail. Their patience, kindness, care and attention has bought her back to where she is today.
Trusting she is in such good hands has lifted
a huge weight off my shoulders and eased the stress my family felt trying to care for her.
They have an app on which they regularly upload pictures of Mum and other residents engaging in activities and enjoying themselves. It's lovely to see her smiling so much. Her smiles were few and far between before she arrived at Bishops Manor and had been replaced with extreme anxiety. Her anxiety has now completely disappeared.
The carers always communicate promptly and clearly. If mum is unwell we are informed, We always know exactly what's happening, which gives us such peace of mind. It's a relief to know she's safe and well cared for.
I couldn't ask for a better place for her to be

My grandma has been a resident at Bishops Manor for several years now. After having a stroke and losing her husband, she went from living mostly independently to needing support, and over time her vascular dementia has unfortunately made it impossible for her to look after herself.
When it was time
for our family to find her a care home, we wanted a place that not only had good, clean rooms and living conditions, but most importantly offered excellent care. We are so happy to say that the carers at Bishops Manor have been wonderful. They are all kind, gentle, and most importantly patient - something that makes a huge difference for my grandma and her dementia.
We love the wide range of activities offered to her most days. My grandma especially enjoys the singalongs and craft sessions. We are so grateful for the care, warmth, and happiness that Bishops Manor provides. We worry less knowing our grandma is comfortable, safe, and loved.

Mum has been living happily in Foxland Grange for a number of years. Her care is carefully organised to meet her needs and provided by a care team who are respectful, friendly, well trained and aim for high standards.
I find that communication is very good and includes regular care need reviews for
Mum and excellent two way communication with me.

The home atmosphere is welcoming and the environment clean and well maintained. The food is good with plenty of choice. There is an extensive range of activities for residents and frequent celebrations of events which this month have included World Book Day, Mother's Day & St Patricks Day relatives are always encouraged to join in.

I am particularly impressed with the connections Foxland Grange has with the wider community ranging from community choirs and local primary schools to care services such as the GP team, Chiropody and a support company.

Reply from Jazz Lalli, Reviews Team at Foxland GrangeHello and thank you so much for taking the time to review us. We made the right choice in choosing Foxland Grange to be Mom's home. The staff who have looked after mom, past and present, are and have been brilliant. The care they give is brilliant. The visit starts well for us when we come in. The welcome from staff is the first thing you get.
All staff talk
to you and clearly like to ask mom how she is.

Over 3 years ago, my parents (both in their 90s) moved into a suite in Foxland Grange. Their care has been outstanding ever since, with carers treating them as they would their own families. As my mother's needs became more complex, the nursing staff were able to provide all that she needed, and she
was treated with dignity, respect and most importantly, love in her final weeks. My father has now moved to a spacious single suite, and has been looked after with great care by carers, senior staff and the management team, both during the day and overnight. Thank you!

There's always a warm welcome here, and you're made to feel at home by lovely staff. The bistro area is great and super for visits with a cafe feel, the coffee is great, and the cakes and goodies are good to have a chat with! All facilities are kept in clean and smart condition, and the style is comfy
but elegant. The provision of day trips and visits is great and very much enjoyed and appreciated. Plenty of celebration days and music, which is interesting and good fun.

Bishops Manor

I had a dear friend in Bishops Manor, from springtime of last year until her death in February. I cannot fault the care she received: I was able to talk through any concerns or issues, the level of communication was sympathetic and understanding. My friend settled in quite quickly, and I was aware
she was happy, making a speech of thanks at her 90th birthday tea party, and again during a meal time. She was so appreciative toward the staff and managed to express how supported and looked after she felt. When she was close to the end of her life, the care team were so kind and empathic, involving me in decisions: and patiently explaining their actions. Their attentive and vigilant care during this difficult time was heartwarming. The care overall has been exemplary, my friend spent the last months of her life content, and very well cared for. For this I am grateful, as it meant that I could relax knowing she was safe in very capable hands. Many warm thanks to everyone at Bishops Manor.

We moved Mum into Metchley Manor 2 months ago as she was really struggling to live independently. It was a very big decision, and we spent months considering this next step. During this time, we visited Metchley on at least 3 occasions.
We are so pleased to see our Mum settled, happy, more confident,
well fed and cared for. There are so many staff around to help and support residents.
Mum loves the activities! There is an interesting and varied schedule of activities each week, with options for trips out in the minibus. This level of engagement and structure to the day has really helped Mum to enjoy life again. She seems content, relaxed, with a sense of pride at being less dependent on family members to meet her day-to-day needs. An added bonus is an app which allows us to see what she is up to.
We find staff friendly, helpful and kind to us too. No-one is rushed in their interactions with us and staff were particularly helpful and understanding as we all got used to this new regime

What a wonderful, warm, lovely place to live! My husband and I wanted to move in to this 5* 'hotel'
We live down South, my brother lives in the Netherlands so my 92 year old dad living alone once my mum passed away suddenly in October was impossible. Dad moved in just before Christmas and had taken
a while to settle but with the care and encouragement of everyone at Metchley Manor, he's slowly coming out of his shell. Everyone is so kind and caring and dad is so well cared for in every way! I can't thank them enough for all they do! So highly recommended!

My father started his residency at Bishop's Manor on 23/08/24 after a very distressing hospital experience. Following this my sisters and I were determined to find the best care for him that met his needs physically, emotionally, medically and financially. We count ourselves very fortunate that in
Bishops Manor we have done this!
Initially on entering Bishop's Manor our father was disoriented, frightened, anxious and unsettled with many episodes of distressed behaviour and even though these problems still arise from time to time their regularity has been considerably arrested due to the kind, friendly care and support provided by the care home staff. Dad hasn't just found a facility with capable staff, he is "at home" with a "second family". His room is his "home" and he feels safe and secure.
The staff at all levels, without exception, are exemplary! They are very knowledgeable, professional and driven by a desire to provide the best care for their residents and with a smile.
Reply from Jody Sedgwick, Reviews Team at Bishops ManorThank you so much for your kind words. It means a great deal to the whole team to know that your father feels safe, settled and truly at home with us. Supporting residents and their families through what can be a difficult transition is something we care deeply about, and your feedback means the world to our staff. I cannot speak highly enough of this care home. From walking into reception where there is a fabulous welcome station with refreshments for visitors and friendly staff such as Bal ready to greet you. It is really welcoming and really homely. Rather a home from home for all of the residents who live
there. The atmosphere in this home is always calm and very welcoming. With plenty of activities for the residents to do with the co-ordinator Jan. The staff in the home are absolutely fabulous they are always patient and always willing to help you with anything. It is a very big transition to have a loved one in care but knowing how well my grandad is looked after at this home and how happy he seems is so reassuring for our family. We are grateful for all that the staff at Edgbaston Manor for everything they have done and continue to do for our loved one.
