We were welcomed by friendly staff who went out of their way to accomodate our visit to our friends. There was a happy, relaxed atmosphere and both staff and residents seemed happy & relaxed. The staff showed exceptional sensitivity and understanding of the needs of our friend (a resident) & the standard
of cleanliness & care was excellent. The place felt clean but comfortable & homely. I cannot fault it.

I'd just like to thank all the staff who worked over the Christmas period at Bishops Manor, the run up to Christmas was filled with lots of lovely opportunities to make memories with loved ones.
I'd particularly like to thank all staff who worked Christmas Day. We had lunch with my Dad and the effort
everyone put into making us welcome was much appreciated. This was my Dad's first Christmas at the home and a difficult one for many reasons. However, everyone ensured he had the best time possible and we made the most of being able to spend Christmas Day together. The lunch was wonderful and special thanks to Scott and the kitchen team for all their hard work.
Reply from Jody Sedgwick, Reviews Team at Bishops ManorThank you so much for your lovely feedback, Alison. We're delighted that your Dad's first Christmas with us was made special and that you were able to create such meaningful memories together. We know how important this time of year is for families, and we're so pleased the team helped make the day welcoming and enjoyable. I'll be sure to pass on your thanks to our fabulous kitchen team, as well as everyone who worked over Christmas Day.
It's always a pleasure to support you and your family. Jody

Despite being fiercely independent, a fall at 94 landed Dad in hospital for a fortnight necessitating a period of respite care upon discharge. We feel so fortunate that at the time of his greatest need, we were able to secure a room for Dad. The whole process from our initial visit, assessing Dad in
hospital, paperwork and discharge to Mercia Grange went through in under a week. The Customer Relations Manager was an absolute rock throughout an exceptionally stressful time, coordinating everything to ensure a smooth admission for Dad and providing our family with much needed emotional support.
2 months on, it's an absolute pleasure to visit Dad at Mercia Grange. Having made a miraculous recovery, he's content, very well fed, loved and cared for and in his words "you're number one in here". He's finally getting the TLC he's been in need of for a very long time, every single day. Needless to say, he's decided to make this his permanent home.

My mother was a resident at Mercia Grange from June of 2018 until she passed away December 2025. She lived on all three floors during that time as she grew more frail. Carers from all floors developed a realtionship with her and grew to inderstand her needs even when she was not able to express them
well. Staff from the kitchen, cleaning, laundry , adminitration also took time to get to know her. She was gently encouraged to partcipate in a variety of actvivities. As I lived out of the country it was important for me to have good communication with staff and generally this was the case, especially the last years on Sixsmith. Mum passed away recently and I was able to be there. I would like to commend the staff who took care of her in those last days and were exceptionally kind to me. I was touched by the number of staff members from all departments who stopped by to visit her as they knew she was failing. Many had known her a long time and it was clear that they cared for her.
Reply from Rachel Mackay, Reviews Team at Mercia GrangeThank you so much for your lovely words. It was an absolute privilege to care for your mother over the years. We're so pleased to hear that our team's commitment and compassion made a lasting impression. Creating a welcoming, engaging, and supportive environment is what we strive for every day, and feedback like yours is much appreciated. Thank you again for your trust in us, it was an honor to care for your mum.

Dad's first contact with Mercia Grange followed a two week plus stay in hospital. He was mentally and physically vulnerable when he arrived. Having been given time to adjust and settle at his own pace, the kindness from staff and the care he received soon resulted in amazing improvements. Dad is thoroughly
enjoying the company; the wonderful food and the general atmosphere/ambience of the home. Activities are available when he wishes to participate. Dad is appreciating a chat and a laugh again, and tells us regularly how contented he is. What more can family ask for? It's lovely to witness.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Following major surgery, I stayed at Metchley Manor for respite care, where the staff were exceptional throughout my stay. They provided constant support, regularly checked on my progress, and maintained a positive atmosphere. The Care Manager efficiently arranged all necessary visits from Duty Nurses,
urgent medication requests, and prescription collections, promptly addressing any health issues that arose. My room was spacious, clean, and private, ensuring a comfortable environment for recovery. The restaurant staff were incredibly accommodating, happily adjusting meals to suit my limited appetite during recovery. Metchley Manor is an ideal place for those needing respite after a major operation, offering 24-hour care and assistance. The residents enjoyed a variety of well-organised and entertaining daily activities, which made the experience even more pleasant. I actually miss the staff and will be popping back to say hello and to see the resident cats. I 100% recommend Metchley!

My husband has been in Bishops Manor for over twelve months now. He is well settled but more importantly I know he is being cared for when he does get confused and agitated.
There is always plenty going on and activities to keep him occupied but equally so plenty of space if he just want to be quiet.
The
staff, and I mean all the staff, know him and myself and it's like coming h9me to extended family.they even arranged his 80th afternoon tea party for all the family.
The run up to Xmas was filled with plenty of crafting,,cards, gifts for family, tree decorating, carol concerts all organised by Sarah and team. Then of course no Xmas would be complete without all the food and drink supplied by Scott and his team, it was superb.
I would highly recommend this care Home for doing what it's title says ,it cares.

This year, we had the privilege of spending Christmas Day at the care home with our mum, and it truly became one of the most memorable Christmases we've ever shared with her. We were warmly invited to join her for Christmas dinner, and from start to finish the entire experience was exceptional.
The
staff, as always, were nothing short of incredible. Their kindness, attention, and festive spirit made the day feel genuinely special. The Christmas meal itself was absolutely beautiful - we were spoiled with a choice of three starters, three delicious main courses, and four indulgent desserts. Every dish arrived piping hot, full of flavour, and clearly made with care.
The cooks went above and beyond, not only preparing a wonderful meal but also checking in regularly to make sure we had everything we needed. Their thoughtfulness did not go unnoticed.
We are deeply grateful to every member of the team for creating such a warm, joyful, and unforgettable Christmas for our mum and for us.

We have just returned home to the West Country after another lovely visit to mum . She was walking well with her frame , was chatty and smiley and enjoyed hot chocolate , Christmas cake and shortbread biscuits in the lovely bistro. My sister enjoyed
a similarly positive time with her on Christmas
Day sharing wonderful dinner and fun. It is 6 years since mum became a resident at Bishops Manor and I thank her floor 2 team in particular for the outstanding quality of care provided ; physically, emotionally and socially . The progress that mum has made has been so impressive. The whole team are incredible, the cleaning team keep the rooms and shared spaces spotless. The catering team produce incredible food and have successfully re-ignited mums appetite. The reception staff are always so welcoming and seem to know me despite my geographical distance . The events and activities organisation is high quality alongside the less visible administration staff. Thankyou all .

Grandad went in to the home for some respite care.
Unfortunately this time was cut short but i am at peace knowing his last few days were spent in foxglove grange where he was looked after exceptionally well! His carer diane was brilliant and he particularly liked Heather who was always smiling and
happy .. he looked forward to her going to chat with him. He loved the food in there (he always loved his food!) and the place is absolutely spotless.
They make Christmas very special for the residents.
Thank you so much to everyone for looking after him in his final days so well.
Also jazz the customer relations manager was helpful and caring throughout and the carer who came out to visit him initially at his home also lovely and friendly and caring.! Thanks so much everyone at foxglove grange because everyone we met seemed amazing! Fiona and family x

All of the staff are very friendly and seem kind and caring. They work hard yet remain positive and happy undertaking any tasks. As a visitor it is a nice environment to walk into and its nice to know my mum is well cared for.
