What a wonderful, warm, lovely place to live! My husband and I wanted to move in to this 5* 'hotel'
We live down South, my brother lives in the Netherlands so my 92 year old dad living alone once my mum passed away suddenly in October was impossible. Dad moved in just before Christmas and had taken
a while to settle but with the care and encouragement of everyone at Metchley Manor, he's slowly coming out of his shell. Everyone is so kind and caring and dad is so well cared for in every way! I can't thank them enough for all they do! So highly recommended!

I visited several good quality Care homes in the area, but found Bishops Manor to be the best suited for my Aunt.
From day one their support in helping me move my Aunt from another care home into Bishops Manor went very smoothly.
Special mention for Jody for her support.
I truly believe that my
Aunt is now in the best place for her needs and will be happy and well cared for.
Reply from Jody Sedgwick, Reviews Team at Bishops ManorNigel, thank you so much for your lovely review. We are delighted that your aunt has settled in so well with us. It means a great deal to know you feel she is in the right place for her needs and that she will be happy and well cared for. My father started his residency at Bishop's Manor on 23/08/24 after a very distressing hospital experience. Following this my sisters and I were determined to find the best care for him that met his needs physically, emotionally, medically and financially. We count ourselves very fortunate that in
Bishops Manor we have done this!
Initially on entering Bishop's Manor our father was disoriented, frightened, anxious and unsettled with many episodes of distressed behaviour and even though these problems still arise from time to time their regularity has been considerably arrested due to the kind, friendly care and support provided by the care home staff. Dad hasn't just found a facility with capable staff, he is "at home" with a "second family". His room is his "home" and he feels safe and secure.
The staff at all levels, without exception, are exemplary! They are very knowledgeable, professional and driven by a desire to provide the best care for their residents and with a smile.
Reply from Jody Sedgwick, Reviews Team at Bishops ManorThank you so much for your kind words. It means a great deal to the whole team to know that your father feels safe, settled and truly at home with us. Supporting residents and their families through what can be a difficult transition is something we care deeply about, and your feedback means the world to our staff. Thank you for placing your trust in us and for choosing Bishops Manor. Kind regards Jody

I cannot speak highly enough of this care home. From walking into reception where there is a fabulous welcome station with refreshments for visitors and friendly staff such as Bal ready to greet you. It is really welcoming and really homely. Rather a home from home for all of the residents who live
there. The atmosphere in this home is always calm and very welcoming. With plenty of activities for the residents to do with the co-ordinator Jan. The staff in the home are absolutely fabulous they are always patient and always willing to help you with anything. It is a very big transition to have a loved one in care but knowing how well my grandad is looked after at this home and how happy he seems is so reassuring for our family. We are grateful for all that the staff at Edgbaston Manor for everything they have done and continue to do for our loved one. Cannot recommend this care home enough as they truely care for our loved ones a second family which they definitely

Both my parents have been in Foxland for almost 3 years. My mum is in a wheelchair and when we first looked round, she was amazed that 'somewhere that meets my needs could look like this'. They have brought their own furniture creating a true home and are both very happy and enjoy the wide range of
entertainment and activities. We all have peace of peace of mind knowing that they are well-cared for by compassionate staff, who feel like part of the family.

We were welcomed by friendly staff who went out of their way to accomodate our visit to our friends. There was a happy, relaxed atmosphere and both staff and residents seemed happy & relaxed. The staff showed exceptional sensitivity and understanding of the needs of our friend (a resident) & the standard
of cleanliness & care was excellent. The place felt clean but comfortable & homely. I cannot fault it.

I'd just like to thank all the staff who worked over the Christmas period at Bishops Manor, the run up to Christmas was filled with lots of lovely opportunities to make memories with loved ones.
I'd particularly like to thank all staff who worked Christmas Day. We had lunch with my Dad and the effort
everyone put into making us welcome was much appreciated. This was my Dad's first Christmas at the home and a difficult one for many reasons. However, everyone ensured he had the best time possible and we made the most of being able to spend Christmas Day together. The lunch was wonderful and special thanks to Scott and the kitchen team for all their hard work.

Despite being fiercely independent, a fall at 94 landed Dad in hospital for a fortnight necessitating a period of respite care upon discharge. We feel so fortunate that at the time of his greatest need, we were able to secure a room for Dad. The whole process from our initial visit, assessing Dad in
hospital, paperwork and discharge to Mercia Grange went through in under a week. The Customer Relations Manager was an absolute rock throughout an exceptionally stressful time, coordinating everything to ensure a smooth admission for Dad and providing our family with much needed emotional support.
2 months on, it's an absolute pleasure to visit Dad at Mercia Grange. Having made a miraculous recovery, he's content, very well fed, loved and cared for and in his words "you're number one in here". He's finally getting the TLC he's been in need of for a very long time, every single day. Needless to say, he's decided to make this his permanent home.
Reply from Rachel Mackay, Reviews Team at Mercia GrangeThank you so much for your kind words. We are honestly touched by your review. Its been a privilege to support you and your family through such a stressful transition. Seeing your Dad thrive, enjoy his meals, and declare himself 'number one' is exactly why we do what we do. We are so happy he’s decided to make Mercia Grange his permanent home! Many thanks The Mercia Grange Team Care UK.

My mother was a resident at Mercia Grange from June of 2018 until she passed away December 2025. She lived on all three floors during that time as she grew more frail. Carers from all floors developed a realtionship with her and grew to inderstand her needs even when she was not able to express them
well. Staff from the kitchen, cleaning, laundry , adminitration also took time to get to know her. She was gently encouraged to partcipate in a variety of actvivities. As I lived out of the country it was important for me to have good communication with staff and generally this was the case, especially the last years on Sixsmith. Mum passed away recently and I was able to be there. I would like to commend the staff who took care of her in those last days and were exceptionally kind to me. I was touched by the number of staff members from all departments who stopped by to visit her as they knew she was failing. Many had known her a long time and it was clear that they cared for her.

Dad's first contact with Mercia Grange followed a two week plus stay in hospital. He was mentally and physically vulnerable when he arrived. Having been given time to adjust and settle at his own pace, the kindness from staff and the care he received soon resulted in amazing improvements. Dad is thoroughly
enjoying the company; the wonderful food and the general atmosphere/ambience of the home. Activities are available when he wishes to participate. Dad is appreciating a chat and a laugh again, and tells us regularly how contented he is. What more can family ask for? It's lovely to witness.

Thank you so much for the lovely atmosphere and experience you created, through out the home , during the Christmas festive period and New Year. The care, effort and detail, by all departments, that had gone into making it a really special time was very much appreciated and meant we were able to create

Following major surgery, I stayed at Metchley Manor for respite care, where the staff were exceptional throughout my stay. They provided constant support, regularly checked on my progress, and maintained a positive atmosphere. The Care Manager efficiently arranged all necessary visits from Duty Nurses,
urgent medication requests, and prescription collections, promptly addressing any health issues that arose. My room was spacious, clean, and private, ensuring a comfortable environment for recovery. The restaurant staff were incredibly accommodating, happily adjusting meals to suit my limited appetite during recovery. Metchley Manor is an ideal place for those needing respite after a major operation, offering 24-hour care and assistance. The residents enjoyed a variety of well-organised and entertaining daily activities, which made the experience even more pleasant. I actually miss the staff and will be popping back to say hello and to see the resident cats. I 100% recommend Metchley!
