My father spent just over six months at Knebworth care home, Woolmer Green. All the staff were so pleasant and helpful and the care provided was of the best quality. Without hesitation if you need a care home for respite or longer term this is a fantastic choice.

My relative spent the last five weeks of her life at Snowdrop House, from the moment she arrived she was treated with genuine kindness and respect. The staff took the time to get to know her as a person, showing a real interest in who she was beyond her care needs.

As her condition deteriorated

towards the end of her life, they supported not only her but also us as her family. Their compassion, patience and care made an incredibly difficult time easier and we are very grateful for everything they did.

Service and staff are excellent, friendly and caring. The home is always very clean and tidy. Parking is sometimes a problem, perhaps eliminating some of the green space would be an answer as it is not a used facility. The facilities are of a high standard and surpasses other homes in the area.
Reply from Samantha Debenham, Reviews Team at KnebworthThank you very much for taking the time to share your feedback. We're delighted to hear that you found our staff to be friendly and caring, and that you consistently notice the high standards of cleanliness and facilities within the home.

We appreciate your comments regarding parking and understand that this can occasionally be challenging. Your suggestion has been noted and will be considered as part of our ongoing efforts to improve the experience for residents and visitors. If you do wish to discuss this further, the Home Manager will be happy to do so.
Thank you again for your kind words and for recommending our home so highly in comparison to others in the area.

My cousin first came to Snowdrop House in April 2024 after a hip operation. This was for a period of two to three weeks. After three weeks, she said she would like to stay indefinitely. She is very happy there and her health and wellbeing have improved greatly, her room is very clean and tidy, and the
staff management, carers, and cleaners are all very kind, helpful and obliging. She is happy, we are happy.

Overall my mother was very happy staying here for 2 weeks respite after a fall. There were a couple of small incidents at night which management were looking into. Overall all the staff were happy and always smiling, they seemed to really enjoy working at Knebworth Care Home. If I have to find fault,
it was not enough parking, which would deter me from my mother staying there on a full-time basis. A big thank you.
Reply from Samantha Debenham, Reviews Team at KnebworthThank you for sharing your thoughts regarding Knebworth. Your kind words about our staff are greatly appreciated.

We acknowledge that incidents can happen and our Management Team are always committed to investigating and providing a resolution to any issues effectively and efficiently.

Furthermore, the Home Manager is always glad to discuss any concerns, including parking arrangements, and help reach a swift resolution. We encourage you to reach out to discuss these possibilities if you wish.
Once again, thank you for sharing your feedback regarding Knebworth. Your input is invaluable to us.

My husband was accepted as a resident of Snowdrop House in July. I made enquiries with other local care homes, but it was clear that the staff at Snowdrop went out of their way to accommodate us. Several people spoke highly of SD, which was reassuring and shows it has a good reputation locally.
We
anticipated that my husband would enjoy the facilities of SD for a long time, but sadly and unexpectedly, he passed away.
Everyone was so kind to him in his final days and took great care of him.
I could not hesitate to recommend Snowdrop House.

My father recently stayed at Snowdrop House for two weeks, and we couldn't be happier with the care he received. From the moment he arrived, the staff were welcoming, attentive, and genuinely kind. They made him feel comfortable and cared for throughout his stay.
He particularly enjoyed the meals,
which were always well-prepared and delicious - he even mentioned looking forward to mealtimes each day! The whole team went out of their way to make sure he was happy and settled, and their warmth really made a difference.
Thank you to everyone at Snowdrop House for providing such a positive and supportive environment. We truly appreciate the care and compassion you showed - it gave us great peace of mind knowing he was in such good hands.

My Mother-in-Law who is suffering from Alzheimer's/Vascular Dementia spent two weeks respite care at Snowdrop House in July 2025. I found the levels of care were to a very high standard and the home was spotlessly clean in general with en suite spacious rooms. The staff have a very professional attitude,
and the attention to detail to all of the residents particular personal needs is very evident. This reflects very well on Management who also always give you a great welcome.
I would have no issues recommending Snowdrop House to anybody.

Very welcoming environment professionally run. Overall excellent experience albeit felt the food at times fell short of expected standard for example served partially frozen sandwiches once. It would be nice to have a heated towel rail to dry things on.
Reply from Samantha Debenham, Reviews Team at KnebworthThank you for sharing your thoughts regarding Knebworth. Your kind words regarding our home are greatly appreciated. Regarding food, we are sorry to hear that this was your experience. We pride ourselves in providing a large variety of meal choices for residents to enjoy and our Chef works hard to provide high quality meals to all in the home. If there are any issues with food, our kitchen staff will always be happy to rectify this promptly for you. Furthermore, we always try our best to ensure residents' rooms are comfortable and fitted with the appropriate equipment they need. The Home Manager would be happy to discuss the implementation of a heated towel rail with you alongside any other queries you may have regarding your room or your care. I was in desperate need for respite care for my father as his carer, my mum, was taken suddenly ill. The team at Snowdrop were brilliant. So welcoming and helpful, guiding this rookie through the process, welcoming my dad who had no idea what was going on or could understand.

The home is excellent,

everyone is looked after and the emphasis is on being welcoming and providing the care.

I have no complaints and I am just grateful to the team for providing so much support at such a time of need

My aunt came to Snowdrop House following a dreadful experience in hospital. She was no longer able to care for herself, and as I live some distance away, I was unable to provide her with full-time care myself. From the moment she arrived, she was obviously much happier and more comfortable. She received
excellent care from all the staff and spent her last few weeks in a lovely room with her own things around her. I couldn't fault the ways they looked after her in life and us after her passing.

From the moment we walked through the door at Snowdrop House, we knew we had found the right care home for my husband. It is bright, airy, spacious, and clean.
We loved it straight away. The staff and management were friendly, smiling, and welcoming.
A year on, we know we made the right choice. Any
little niggles are handled promptly and with real care, which gives us confidence that he's in good hands. It's a well-run care home!
One of the lovely highlights is the on site café, which offers hot drinks and delicious homemade cakes. It's a popular spot for both residents and visitors.
I'm very grateful to the team at Snowdrop House for the compassion, attention, and professionalism they've shown over the past year. Knowing my husband is safe, respected, and well cared for means the world.

Choosing a care home is a difficult and emotional one. From our first visit the home stood out as a place of warmth and professionalism. The key to this home is its staff. My father was recently a resident at Snowdrop House, where he was initially admitted for respite care. He received an excellent standard of care whilst he was there right through until end of life care was required. All of the staff at Snowdrop house were extremely caring and supportive of my dad, and
myself throughout his stay. Towards the end of his life, the staff, from the managers to nurses and support workers treated him in a very sensitive, respectful and caring way. I have no doubt that dad was in the best place, and that in his final days, he was made as comfortable as possible. I also felt very supported by all the staff there - losing a loved one is never easy, but the staff on duty at the time of his passing were particularly sensitive, and ensured that dad was able to maintain his dignity until the end. I would particularly like to thank one member of staff - I will always be grateful for the compassion and sensitivity she showed to both my father and to me. Thank you.

Dad had such a positive experience during the 8 months he was at Snowdrop House. Right from the beginning it was clear that the place was efficiently run and that the management respected and valued their staff. There was good pre planning done before Dad arrived and there was alot of care taken to
ensure his smooth transition from hospital. Dad's history was gained through life story work and I really felt that he was valued as a man with a lifetime of independent experiences.
The catering is excellent at Snowdrop House with delicious meals provided 3 times a day and a wonderful self service cafe open all day with an ever changing array of cakes and treats.
Mini golf, bowls, knitting club, men's club, church services, exercise classes and parties are some of the regular daily activities that go on with visits from singers, school children and even visiting animals!
I have nothing but praise for all the kindness that dad received and will always be grateful for the top quality care.
