Staff have all been welcoming and helpful and the premises are modern and well maintained. All meals have a choice of menu and seem to go down well with the residents. Visiting permitted at any time. Car park could do with being a bit larger especially as no on street alternative
Reply from Samantha Debenham, Reviews Team at Oakfield CroftThank you for taking the time to provide your lovely feedback regarding Oakfield Croft.
We are very pleased to read your comments regarding the staff being welcoming and helpful. The team pride themselves on delivering compassionate and attentive care and this will mean a lot to them as they continue this work.
We are also pleased to hear that you have had a pleasant experience regarding the premises, food and visiting.
We are however sorry to read of your concerns regarding the car park.
We understand that the car park is of a smaller size and due to the busyness of the home, this can present with parking issues.
Please be advised that we do advise that all staff park to the right near the minibus and double/triple park to free up spaces for any visitors, where possible.
Thank you again for your feedback.

Moving into a care home is a big change for anyone. From day one my mum was made to feel very welcome and team has been excellent ever since. They have taken time to get to know my mum. She is always treated with dignity and care.
The facilities and activities at the care home are excellent and the
team there make sure the residents know what is going on and have the option to join in.
The location is lovely and the grounds are well maintained.
Recently there was a special Mother's Day event to which family members were invited. It was a lovely afternoon and much thought and preparation had gone into the event.
I'm confident my mum is in safe hands, well looked after and has many activities available for her to enjoy

My mum has been a resident at Abney for a couple of years and overall I'm very pleased with her care there. The home environment is very pleasant and some recent decorative improvements have made it even better for the residents. The staff are good and try to make it a caring and warm place for all
the residents to live with dignity. There's a wide range of daily activities and mum really enjoys taking part in these. Food and drink are of a high standard and there's a nice dining area for people to spend time in. Overall I'd definitely recommend as somewhere you can feel confident your loved ones will be cared for when they can no longer live independently.

My Mum and Dad have been at Ladybrook, Bramhall since September 2025. The care and kindness that they are shown by all the staff is exceptional and I am so relieved to know they are safe and so well cared for. The effort to make the residents life enjoyable and sociable is fantastic by various forms
of social entertainment and pre dinner drinks.
I will always be so grateful to everyone at Ladybrook for all their hard work.
Reply from John Harrison, Reviews Team at Ladybrook ManorThank you so much for your wonderful review and for taking the time to share your experience.
We are truly delighted to hear that both your Mum and Dad have been so happy with us since moving into Ladybrook Manor. It is incredibly reassuring to know that you feel confident in the care, kindness, and support they receive from our team each day.
Your kind words about the effort our staff put into creating a warm, sociable, and enjoyable environment mean a great deal to us. From our activities and entertainment to the little touches like pre-dinner drinks, we always aim to make each day special for our residents.
We will be sure to share your feedback with the whole team, as it will mean so much to them and reflects the dedication they show every day.
Thank you again for your support and trust—it is genuinely appreciated.

Last Sunday for Mother's Day Abney Court organised a really special afternoon tea. On an occasion which could have proven difficult it really was a lovely occasion. Real thought had gone into the arrangements, the set up was beautifully done, a lot of effort too had gone into catering for someone with
Coeliac, thank you! The staff member who had arranged everything is to be really commended for all her kindness, the chef too came out to speak to all the guests which was lovely.
All in all a very successful occasion.
With grateful thanks

Mum has happily settled into her new home thanks to the kindness, patience and support of all the staff at Abney Court. Mum enjoys the activities, particularly the exercise classes. The lifestyle team make sure mum knows what is happening and can get involved. Lisa from the team will take mum for a
walk when the weather is fine - she enjoys that. I visit regularly and always feel welcome. The staff on the Gladstone Suite know mum well and are very kind. Mum said to me the other day 'I'm so glad we found this place, its very good'/ I'm glad too, mum is so well cared for, and happy here.

Two words care and caring they mean very different things. The Halecroft team deliver both in abundance. We are so grateful for not just the level of care you offer but how caring you are in its delivery. Your practise is outstanding. My mother is so grateful
For everything you're doing for her husband
my father at this time. You administer everything with compassion and good grace, giving my father the dignity he deserves at this stage of his life. We the children are also very grateful at how caring and supportive you are to my mother Gabrielle everytime she visits. Both mum and John are firefly independent living unaided until this year as John turned 90 and my mother 88. We hold you in admiration and know if there is a time when my mother needs such care only Halecroft will be good enough! Thank you for being you at our time of need.

Ladybrook Manor

from Fred R (Son of Resident) published on 9 January 2026

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My husband I spent a considerable period of time researching and visiting homes to create a shortlist for my father. We loved Ladybrook Manor right from our first visit, it was warm and friendly and the food was good. To us it was head and shoulders above the alternatives that we had found, we were
very glad when my father agreed.
More than a year (and two Christmases later) we are still very glad that he is in Ladybrook Manor. The care is very good, there are plenty of activities to keep him entertained and the food is good (he has put on weight in a good way). My favourite part is their coffee area, every time I visit we get a cuppa there, it's a lovely place to sit and be sociable (but completely separate from the lounge with residents watching TV). Also there is often some baked goods from the kitchen to be had in the afternoon.
Would highly recommend.
Reply from John Harrison, Reviews Team at Ladybrook ManorThank you so much for your wonderful and detailed review.
We are truly delighted to hear about your positive experience, from your very first visit through to more than a year on. It means a great deal to us that Ladybrook Manor stood out during your search, and even more so that you continue to feel confident and happy with your decision.
It’s fantastic to hear that your father is thriving with us—especially that he is enjoying the food and has maintained a healthy appetite. Creating a varied and engaging lifestyle is so important, so we’re pleased he is benefiting from the activities on offer.
We particularly loved your mention of the coffee area. It’s designed to be a warm, welcoming space for families and residents to spend quality time together, and it’s lovely to know it has become such a special part of your visits (along with the homemade baked treats!).
Your kind words about our team, care, and environment will be shared with everyone here, as they truly reflect the dedication and pride we have in what we do.
Thank you again for your recommendation and continued support—it means so much to us all.
Warmest regards,
The Ladybrook Manor Team

Our experience of Oakfield Croft was excellent on all levels. Mum has a fantastic stay for two weeks. I had already heard three separate word of mouth recommendations before her stay. All staff were friendly and professional. Mum found the food to be fancy restaurant standard and appreciated being gently
reminded about meal times. Mum really loved all the activities too, and we were overall very impressed with the wide range of activities on offer.

My Mum is very happy at the home. She is very well cared for. The facilities are exceptional. The majority of the reception staff know me by name and are always welcoming. The carers and managers are always welcoming, polite and helpful. It is lovely to see all the staff speaking not only to my Mum
by name but to the other residents. It shows such care and attention to each individual. My only criticism is that the home does not seem to have an effective system for tracking clothes and belongings of residents that have gone missing, despite being labelled.

I cannot recommend Riverside enough for the love care compassion and commitment to our Dad who is currently residing there .The staff are amazing and so is the management and nothing is too much trouble for any of them .Queries are always answered fully and also medical issues addressed and sorted immediately.
Helen
and Shirley are our go to staff and are extremely knowledgeable and fully transparent re Dad and his daily behaviour eating and mobility.
If I could give this home 10 stars I would as Dad being there has given us much peace of mind knowing he is being so well looked after which is important especially with his Dementia.
Also I have had experience of other care homes and none have come close to this one.
Thankyou to everyone from all the family for your unwavering commitment to Dad

This is a personal complaint.
Prior to lunch on 12 August 2025 I was waiting at a space of the long corridor to be in time for my lunch. I came up behind a fellow guest, pushing his self, pushing his trolley. I called out that I was attempting to pass on his right as shown level on his R.H. since he
shouted out causing me to jump instantly. This left me dizzy. When I reached the dining room I was quite faint. I called out fortunately one of the members of staff chatting to a lady member it took a lot of minutes to get a response despite explaining I was going to pass out. I spent the afternoon resting and had little or no food.
