My parents needed respite care with a view to perhaps staying permanently. They always said they would never go into care. However, the enormous love they instantly received changed this. Greenview hall went out of their way to care for my parents from day one. Mum sadly suddenly died just before Christmas. The care given to my dad has been outstanding, helping him through his loss of mum who he was married to for 70 years. Dad calls Greenview his home and says he feels safe. I cannot thank Greenview enough for their continued care.

Together with friends, we recently had the pleasure of attending a care home garden function in support of a dear friend who is living with dementia.
From start to finish, everything was absolutely wonderful and, quite honestly, second to none. It was especially heartwarming to see our friend enjoying the afternoon, surrounded by familiar faces and such a warm and caring atmosphere.
The musician was superb - engaging with the residents, visitors and staff alike and creating a lovely atmosphere throughout the afternoon. It was clear how much everyone enjoyed the music.
A very special thank you to Kerry and her colleagues for organising such a fantastic afternoon and for providing an excellent selection of food and refreshments. Our thanks must also go to the chefs and kitchen staff, who worked behind the scenes to prepare and serve such lovely food.

Most importantly, the care, kindness and genuine warmth shown by the staff towards the residents was very evident and extremely reassuring

After Dad made the incredibly difficult decision that Mum needed to move to a Care home to meet her increasing care needs following two falls & for her to feel safe, it was so important to us for Mum to be happy, safe and in a genuinely caring environment. As soon as we walked into Appleby House we felt so relieved as we could visualise Mum not just living there but feeling safe, secure & happy again. The atmosphere was buzzing, with amazing indoor and outdoor facilities, very friendly & approachable staff & Lyn explained everything brilliantly to us with such compassion & clarity.

Mum has since moved in and has a lovely room which we've helped her to personalise.The staff have been so kind and caring which has helped Mum to settle in and she's encouraged & started to join in the activities and get more involved. Mum has her husband visit daily, her sister visits once per week and best friend twice per week minimum and they are also made to feel so welcome by all at Appleby House

My sister in law was a resident here for 4 months and throughout her stay she received exceptional care- The staff took the time to get to know her with kindness, dignity and respect. They were always willing to help and kept our family updated regularly which meant so much to us - we are truly grateful for the compassion and support shown to her right until she peacefully passed away in the home. Thank you to everyone for making her final months as comfortable and caring as possible

My husband need respite care after a hospital stay popped into Greenview to make enquiries on the Weds and by Friday he was in and and within a week his delirium was disappearing. Had him home for a year but then he needed 24hr care so went back to Greenview and he was settled within a week and is so much better now he is getting really good care as am I.

She was also given good medical care and support during the stay

My mother went into Chestnut View care home in Haslemere in April 2026. She was there for 3 months until she died. The care she received from the nurses & carers there was wonderful. My mother-in-law arrived at Appleby House in June and she has settled in much better than we could ever have imagined. This is due to the wonderful staff and the lovely environment. We are so happy with the care she is receiving and she is much more relaxed and communicative since she has been there. We feel very reassured that she is being very well looked after and so enthusiastically encouraged to take part in stimulating activities. I wanted to write a review as my mother in-law has just recently celebrated her birthday and Stanecroft did a wonderful job to help the whole family to celebrate with my mother in-law. They went above and beyond setting up a wonderful afternoon tea for us all. Not only that, the care she receives is truly unbelievable. Everyone who works there genuinely enjoys spending time with her and I really feel like they all love her as if she were their own. From the management team right through to the carers and all the staff in between - you are all hero's and you have made us all feel at peace that she is being taken care of in the best possible way and most importantly, she's no longer lonely. There is so much for them all to do and there's always someone to have a chat to. Stanecroft really is an amazing place.

Over the past three years she has been looked after professionally by cleaners, carers, nursing staff and managment. Our family's also felt cared for, during her time at Liberham Lodge.

Overall Experience
Staff are friendly, helpful and very experienced in dealing with residents with dementia.
There is a calm atmosphere within the home and the home is maintained well as are the outside areas.

Overall Experience

We find the staff to take the care of the Clients very seriously. They seem genuine to care. The home is small and I think that gives a real homely feel. The staff are kind, knowledgable and very caring. The Home seems to be run very efficiently with the Clients needs the focus of any changes and improvements We are very happy the way my Uncle is looked after. It gives us peace of mind knowing he is so looked after.

It was a special time, birthday celebration, it was a lovely, pleasant time. The gardens are beautiful, a totally relaxing time. I visit at different times and find the staff very helpful, very polite, very caring.

I have been visiting at least fortnightly with Cedric my PAT (Pets as Therapy) dog from last Autumn. We both love visiting Thames View and we see residents both on East Wing who are generally more alert, even if physically challenged and also the dementia wing called Chapel side. Cedric was initially very subdued around the dementia residents but this has improved as he has got to know them.

Overall Experience

I was given a very warm welcome, offered coffee and lunch which I wasn't expecting. Everyone I met was polite and helpful. All of the nurses and carers caring for my Aunt were compassionate and respectful and I admired them for the humane job that they do. Everyone was happy to engage with me in conversation. My Aunt's room was clean, comfortable and spacious and cool, even in the heatwave. I left knowing that the residents here are very well cared for.

The indicator that this was not going to be the two weeks of respite care that was promised, should have been the manager forgetting to attend the pre arranged resident assessment meeting and turning up an hour late, after I contacted him to ask if all was ok?
Secondly, six days later, on Mum's arrival day, to not have any dietary appropriate food available and no one in the kitchen seemingly understanding the fundamental issues in relation to coeliac disease and the importance of eradicating cross contamination.
For ten days my Mum has been served inappropriate food and not eaten many foods presented because of the continued ignorance.

This is not the only issue, communication from management to the team is clearly poor and the agency staff do not treat residents with the respect they deserve. I am waiting to lodge a formal complaint when I have received the company complaints procedure.
