From the first visit and walking through the doors,we were made to feel so welcome. From reception through to management. The care for mum was above and beyond . Staff were compassionate, caring at all times. Not only did they care for mum but also cared for us at a difficult time. Amherst House was always calm , everyone had a smile on their face. It was like family home not a care home. We would not hesitate to recommend Amherst House to anyone looking for a care home for a loved one. We will always be very grateful to all ,for the love and care they gave to mum .

My mum has been in Coxhill for about 3 months, Initially she had problems settling but the staff persevered and now she is enjoying a lot of the activities. Overall Experience

Mum has been at Greenview for 2 months now. Our experience has been fantastic from the very first visit and has remained so consistently. The staff are all so caring and professional and Mum says she feels very safe and relaxed. She is busy with activities and is enjoying the food very much. she is sleeping so much better than she was in her own home as she is less anxious, more relaxed and more active.

Overall Experience

My sister has had a few extremely difficult years prior to her admittance at Coxhill Manor. Because of all this trauma she has found it difficult to settle in, but the staff have been incredibly patient and kind at all times. Without exception, they are cheerful, friendly, and dedicated. Nothing is too much trouble for them to do for my sister or for me and my family when we visit. June (my sister) has been happier in the last few weeks than at any time since she left her home a year ago. She has been at Coxhill for six months.

A great location in grand splendour on the River Thames. Staff are great and caring. Activities are wonderful and enjoyed by the residents. Everything is well maintained apart from the garden next to the car park. there are too many loose cobbles in the car park.

My mother in law resided at Thames View for 3yrs 6 months. She absolutely loved it there - was treated with kindness, warmth and respect. It's a huge upheaval to leave a home you love and the independence that goes with that but once settled she felt safe. Made friends, enjoyed activities and outings and loved the staff.

That really helped us knowing she was safe and sound and made many friends with residents and staff. Thank you for all you did for her.

Mum has been resident for almost 5 months and we couldn't be happier with the care she has received.

Her medical and social care needs are being met every day. She has settled in so well, is supported to join in with the activities and is enjoying the company of not only fellow residents but also the staff.

I have never visited without being made to feel part of mum's care. The reception team are so helpful and smiley. The medical team are approachable and always keep us updated with Mum's care. And all the other members of the team are friendly which creates such a lovely atmosphere to visit.

Mum has been able to do far more living at Greenview than she was when she was living by herself. And we can see how happy and healthy she looks which is all we wanted when she moved.

My parents needed respite care with a view to perhaps staying permanently. They always said they would never go into care. However, the enormous love they instantly received changed this. Greenview hall went out of their way to care for my parents from day one. Mum sadly suddenly died just before Christmas. The care given to my dad has been outstanding, helping him through his loss of mum who he was married to for 70 years. Dad calls Greenview his home and says he feels safe. I cannot thank Greenview enough for their continued care.

Together with friends, we recently had the pleasure of attending a care home garden function in support of a dear friend who is living with dementia.
From start to finish, everything was absolutely wonderful and, quite honestly, second to none. It was especially heartwarming to see our friend enjoying the afternoon, surrounded by familiar faces and such a warm and caring atmosphere.
The musician was superb - engaging with the residents, visitors and staff alike and creating a lovely atmosphere throughout the afternoon. It was clear how much everyone enjoyed the music.
A very special thank you to Kerry and her colleagues for organising such a fantastic afternoon and for providing an excellent selection of food and refreshments. Our thanks must also go to the chefs and kitchen staff, who worked behind the scenes to prepare and serve such lovely food.

Most importantly, the care, kindness and genuine warmth shown by the staff towards the residents was very evident and extremely reassuring

After Dad made the incredibly difficult decision that Mum needed to move to a Care home to meet her increasing care needs following two falls & for her to feel safe, it was so important to us for Mum to be happy, safe and in a genuinely caring environment. As soon as we walked into Appleby House we felt so relieved as we could visualise Mum not just living there but feeling safe, secure & happy again. The atmosphere was buzzing, with amazing indoor and outdoor facilities, very friendly & approachable staff & Lyn explained everything brilliantly to us with such compassion & clarity.

Mum has since moved in and has a lovely room which we've helped her to personalise.The staff have been so kind and caring which has helped Mum to settle in and she's encouraged & started to join in the activities and get more involved. Mum has her husband visit daily, her sister visits once per week and best friend twice per week minimum and they are also made to feel so welcome by all at Appleby House

My sister in law was a resident here for 4 months and throughout her stay she received exceptional care- The staff took the time to get to know her with kindness, dignity and respect. They were always willing to help and kept our family updated regularly which meant so much to us - we are truly grateful for the compassion and support shown to her right until she peacefully passed away in the home. Thank you to everyone for making her final months as comfortable and caring as possible

My husband need respite care after a hospital stay popped into Greenview to make enquiries on the Weds and by Friday he was in and and within a week his delirium was disappearing. Had him home for a year but then he needed 24hr care so went back to Greenview and he was settled within a week and is so much better now he is getting really good care as am I.

My wife had 2 weeks respite in Orchard Manor. Despite her concerns beforehand due to dementia, she really enjoyed herself joining in many of the activities and especially liking any singing or dancing

She was also given good medical care and support during the stay

My mother went into Chestnut View care home in Haslemere in April 2026. She was there for 3 months until she died. The care she received from the nurses & carers there was wonderful. They were all so kind & caring right up until the end. They were also so kind & supportive to us her family. Highly recommend it & them. Thank you.

My mother-in-law arrived at Appleby House in June and she has settled in much better than we could ever have imagined. This is due to the wonderful staff and the lovely environment. We are so happy with the care she is receiving and she is much more relaxed and communicative since she has been there. We feel very reassured that she is being very well looked after and so enthusiastically encouraged to take part in stimulating activities. We look forward to going to see her as we also feel very welcomed by the lovely staff. Thank you for all you do.
