The spacious, modern home is organised into four suites, each with its own dining room and lounge. The bedrooms in the Surrey home are designed to the highest of standards and each feature en-suite bathrooms. The home's exceptional facilities include a cinema, hair and beauty salon and a bright and spacious café. Four terraces are located on the upper floor, and landscaped sensory gardens outdoors include a bee and butterfly sanctuary.

There is much for which I could commend Amherst House Care Home. At this time I congratulate the management team on their fantastic achievement, being named "best for staff recruitment and retention" national award. My doctoral research explored leadership engagement in organisation and I have taught
leadership in many countries for several leading business schools. I just wish I had had a case study based on leadership, management and team working at Amherst House to help share gold standard excellence in staff well-being with the many participants of executive education programmes. This excellence is evidenced through the attitude of contribution of staff who are buoyant and fun, and professional and compassionate in their care for residents. I visit regularly. She is always clean and tidy. The staff are also clean and are very knowledgeable. A few have gone over and beyond within helping my sister. Her medical health is well looked after and she is now being helped to feed herself which is good. The home is very welcoming on arrival.

Mum moved to Amherst House early March 2025. She has settled well. I had initial concerns about her routine & medication (she wasn't prescribed some) However after 4 weeks the staff know mum better & I am happier. Mum always looks clean & well dressed it's a shame the staff move between houses a lot.
It would be good to have regular staff who know the residents. I have been frustrated about staffing levels being short & Mum has had to wait a while for the toilet. Food not always hot. Room a little scuffed.

I usually visit once a week to see my friend. I have always found Amherst House Care Home, clean and tidy, the staff are very friendly, there is always someone in Reception to ask any questions. The Residents Room is clean and tidy. I like the cosy feel of the Lounge / Dining room area.
My visit
last week was no exception, I join my friend at the dining table at lunch time to chat to her, the meal was of the usual good standard, they are present well to the residents, it is nice to see the food has colour to it and not just bland colours. A chef will pop down occasional to check on things.
The Care staff for the House my friend is in are very happy and attentive to the residents. My friend is a social person and this Thursday they were meeting up in on of the Lounge area to celebrate a residents birthday. I

I have been so happy overall with all the care and support my Mum receives on a daily basis. This was the first and foremost important factor when deciding on a care home, the one is superb. All the team are so accommodating, not only for my Mum but all the family. Nothing is ever too much trouble.
With the amount of love we have for our Mum, we needed to make sure she had the best. We definitely think Amherst House is the best.

Amehurst Care Home, I visited my mother at the home as she is now a resident. The home as you enter is welcoming and friendly. On arriving at the room I was impressed with the cleanliness, the facilities and the way the staff take care of their residents. The coffee room is a wonderful inclusion as
it allows social engagement with others, the dining room enables the residents again to interact. The food was lovely and again the staff at all times endeavoured to meet special requests, but also extended their hospitality to accommodate maybe extra people arriving for lunch/dinner.
This care home provides safety and as a relative a sense of knowing that the residents are looked after and treated as human beings. They value and matter.

Staff are always so kind and friendly and willing to go the extra mile for their residents and their families and friends, they have a variety of activities each week which enable residents To feel part of a community. The home facilities are spotlessly clean. All the rooms have en-suite facilities.
The
food is freshly cooked and delicious and individual diets are catered for. A beauty salon and cinema are available and a beautiful outside area for a bit of fresh air, a beautiful area for residents to spend time in the coffee area where we can have tea and coffee and cakes and spend quality time wouldn't want my family member anywhere else.

From the moment my Father-in-law was accepted into Amherst House, he has been cared for and looked after superbly. It has been a great relief to the family now that my Father-in-law is being so well cared for in a safe environment. All the staff from the managers down are excellent.

My auntie is considered to be at end of life and the care she is receiving is excellent. It's just a shame she can't enjoy the care home and all it offers - but for us as a family knowing she is safe and secure gives us peace of mind at this awful time.

All the carers are excellent as far as care goes and most go over and above, giving extra time to chat. The food is sometimes unsuitable for my mother-in-law, she doesn't complain, just leaves it. There doesn't seem to be many green vegetables? The entertainment is very good, although she doesn't always
go, but when she does she always says how good it is. Everywhere is clean and tidy. I have always been listened to and any action needed has always followed.

Mum has been a resident since December, it hasn't been easy for her to leave her home of 55 years. However, she is slowly getting used to the new way of life and the staff cannot be kinder or more helpful to her. I hope she will begin to feel more at home as time goes by.

I am a registered general nurse with experience in acute cardiac care and learning disabilities. I joined the home in October 2016. I am a diabetes and fall prevention champion. I have proven clinical skills and advanced knowledge which led to me being promoted. I pride myself on being resident-focused and ensuring that all individuals we support are empowered to make choices and participate fully in the running of their homes. I enjoy spending time bonding with residents and their families, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and happiness are met. I was very proud to be awarded the Champion of Quality Care award in 2019.
