Mum did find coming into care hard at first. But now she is so happy being at Amhurst House with the care and support has given her confidence back. She loves being part of a community, taking part in activities that are offered. Mum loves that there are options at mealtimes. Just like to say thank you to all the staff for giving me my mum back and giving a lovely environment for her to be in, a real pleasure seeing her happy, smiling too and enjoying having her hair and nails done.
Hi Liz thank you very much for taking the time to leave us feedback about your experience.

An excellent facility all round, fantastic staff. So friendly. Made to feel very welcome.
As a family we are very happy with the care our resident receives at Amherst House. All staff are always very caring to all, and residents' dignity is very high on their agenda.

My cousin came to Amherst House in May, she has been made very welcome and has integrated very well. The staff here are excellent, both friendly and caring. She is very impressed with the food and we love the bistro.
Thank you very much for taking the time to leave us such lovely feedback about your experience. It really is very appreciated. I'm so glad your cousin has settled in well and is happy in her new home.

There is much for which I could commend Amherst House Care Home. At this time I congratulate the management team on their fantastic achievement, being named "best for staff recruitment and retention" national award. My doctoral research explored leadership engagement in organisation and I have taught leadership in many countries for several leading business schools. I just wish I had had a case study based on leadership, management and team working at Amherst House to help share gold standard excellence in staff well-being with the many participants of executive education programmes. This excellence is evidenced through the attitude of contribution of staff who are buoyant and fun, and professional and compassionate in their care for residents. I and my family are just so thankful that our mother is so very happy as a member of the Amherst House family. Thank you.

From initial enquiry until Mum became a resident, thanks everyone for their care to her and the family.

Mum moved to Amherst House early March 2025. She has settled well. I had initial concerns about her routine & medication (she wasn't prescribed some) However after 4 weeks the staff know mum better & I am happier. Mum always looks clean & well dressed it's a shame the staff move between houses a lot. It would be good to have regular staff who know the residents. I have been frustrated about staffing levels being short & Mum has had to wait a while for the toilet. Food not always hot. Room a little scuffed.
We also appreciate your honesty in raising the concerns...
My visit last week was no exception, I join my friend at the dining table at lunch time to chat to her, the meal was of the usual good standard, they are present well to the residents, it is nice to see the food has colour to it and not just bland colours. A chef will pop down occasional to check on things.
The Care staff for the House my friend is in are very happy and attentive to the residents. My friend is a social person and this Thursday they were meeting up in on of the Lounge area to celebrate a residents birthday. I
I enjoy going to see my friend at Amherst House.

I have been very impressed with the staff throughout the home. The atmosphere is very homely and to see such an improvement in my father-in-law is due to the way he has been looked after. Lots of activities. The food is excellent and the attention to detail is a credit to all the staff.

As a member of the ambulance service I have been in many care homes and this certainly excels in all aspects. I feel my dad is safe and very well cared for. He has settled into his new home very quickly thanks to all the staff.

I have been so happy overall with all the care and support my Mum receives on a daily basis. This was the first and foremost important factor when deciding on a care home, the one is superb. All the team are so accommodating, not only for my Mum but all the family. Nothing is ever too much trouble. With the amount of love we have for our Mum, we needed to make sure she had the best. We definitely think Amherst House is the best.

The food is freshly cooked and delicious and individual diets are catered for. A beauty salon and cinema are available and a beautiful outside area for a bit of fresh air, a beautiful area for residents to spend time in the coffee area where we can have tea and coffee and cakes and spend quality time wouldn't want my family member anywhere else.

A modern well-presented care home with polite and friendly staff. The receptionist was very welcoming and even made us (and the resident) a cup of team.
From the moment my Father-in-law was accepted into Amherst House, he has been cared for and looked after superbly. It has been a great relief to the family now that my Father-in-law is being so well cared for in a safe environment. All the staff from the managers down are excellent.

My auntie is considered to be at end of life and the care she is receiving is excellent. It's just a shame she can't enjoy the care home and all it offers - but for us as a family knowing she is safe and secure gives us peace of mind at this awful time.
All the carers are excellent as far as care goes and most go over and above, giving extra time to chat. The food is sometimes unsuitable for my mother-in-law, she doesn't complain, just leaves it. There doesn't seem to be many green vegetables? The entertainment is very good, although she doesn't always go, but when she does she always says how good it is. Everywhere is clean and tidy. I have always been listened to and any action needed has always followed.
Thank you for reaching out with your concerns regarding the variety of green vegetables in our menu offerings. We understand the importance of a balanced diet and the essential role that vegetables play in maintaining good health. Our catering team is committed to providing a diverse range of...
Mum has been a resident since December, it hasn't been easy for her to leave her home of 55 years. However, she is slowly getting used to the new way of life and the staff cannot be kinder or more helpful to her. I hope she will begin to feel more at home as time goes by.
My daughter had been looking for a suitable home for me for several months. My three-bedroom house was too demanding and lonely. After many months of searching, she had some positive news, she found somewhere she thought I would like - Amherst House. We made a visit together. I liked everything I saw, especially all the smiling and busy residents in the communal sitting room, the room was spacious with room for some of my own furniture. I have been here roughly two years and loved every minute. Plenty of time to myself or activities when I want.
