My mum transferred to Amherst House a couple of months ago from a different care home, which sadly had to close down. I had thought it was lovely there, but Amherst House is a notch up. It is light and airy, the staff are wonderful and very kind and caring. The home was very well designed to incorporate a coffee shop, small cinema and pub, several outdoor seating areas and a hair salon. Quite frankly I'd be happy to live there, my Mum is!

Our mum has only been in the care home for two days and we've already noticed a change in her which has pleased all of us. We've seen how much the staff like their jobs and care about the residents. Thank you for what you are doing for our mum.

I could see the difference in my mum within a couple of days of her being in the home (for the better). The staff are very friendly and very good at their jobs, nothing is too much trouble for them. We couldn't be happier where our mum is.

When we arrived at Amerhest House the staff came out to greet us and helped with the suitcases, labelled and organised her clothes into the wardrobe. We felt so welcomed and mum settled in so quickly. She is enjoying the food in the restaurant very much. Her room is really comfortable.

During the short time that my husband has been in care with you at Amherst House, I have been most impressed by the level of care shown by the staff and their leader/administrator. Relationships between staff and the family are excellent. As my husband's condition gradually deteriorates the family is grateful for any updates as they may occur. Changes in medication etc are explained and I am made aware of every detail by phone and visit. Although Alzheimer's disease renders unawareness of one's environment, my husband is comfortable, clean and extremely well looked after at Amherst House.

The whole experience has been wonderful. From getting to know the home and service Amherst provide, to supporting with moving mum in, and most importantly the friendly reception she has received, and ongoing care; it's all been wonderful. My mum is very social and this home is great at getting all the residents to mix and there are lots of activities.

Mum had to move into a care home as she couldn't look after herself following the death of her husband. Initially, this was near her home, but we moved her to Amherst House to be nearer family. Everyone, from the top down, have made the move as easy as possible for Mum and us. The care she receives is first-class and she has settled in very well. As a family, we are happy that she is being well cared for.

After much research, my daughter decided this was the best care home she had visited - brought me to see for myself. I was greeted with much kindness and plenty of smiles especially when we visited the sitting room. All residents were busy doing their own thing - ready smiles for me and some even told me how happy they were here. Some coincidence - my room number was the same as the house number I would be vacating! Since moving in I have been very happy - a very friendly, caring atmosphere - we are one big family! I do realise that it is 'death do us part' - but I am really content about that.
