An absolutely wonderful place, the most caring staff and management . My mother sadly passed away after receiving the best care ever! Her time at the Potteries was a lovely time and her care was second to none. The knowledge of her living in a safe, secure and loving environment have helped the closure
of her life for me in the dealings with the Potteries.
Thank you to everyone single person for their dedication to assisting in the last years of my mothers life!

Mum was here for 18 months. She had dementia. Her care was second to none. Unfortunately she passed away in August. The staff attitude through the sad time was lovely. Caring and so helpful throughout. I thoroughly recommend The Potteries.

A big thank you to the Reception staff who always go out of their way to enable me to speak to my Mum.
Visual impairment means that it is very difficult for her to use her mobile - they take her to reception so that she can use a phone there.

I came for my 2-week stay in Ferndown Manor Care Home from July 3rd to July 19th 2025. Surroundings are beautiful, and I loved the garden very much. The caring staff were so good and nothing too much trouble. Exemplary! I appreciated the coffee cake and anything one wanted at all times. Staffing very
good. Activity folk are excellent at all lengths and abilities. The patience of all staff was amazing!! (As I had been in the caring system myself) Food was a little nursery style. Butched and puds very good. Not much fruit, though. Very efficiently served and cleared away. Room was good (room meal time please). Clean at all times. I was able to get around on my 3 wheeler, too. Thank you. 6 stars ******
Reply from Samantha Debenham, Reviews Team at Ferndown Manor

Thank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to share your experience! We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the coffee cake, the dedication of our staff, and the efforts of our activity team. It means a lot to us that you recognized the patience and care our team puts into their work—especially given your own experience in the caring system.
We’re also grateful for your feedback on the food. We strive to create meals that are both enjoyable and accessible, and we’ll certainly take your comments into consideration as we continue to refine our menu. We’ll aim to incorporate more fruit and adjust the style to better meet the needs and preferences of all our guests.
It's wonderful to hear that you felt comfortable navigating with your three-wheeler, and that your room and meal service met your expectations. We’re always working to ensure everything is clean, efficient, and easy to enjoy.
Thank you again for your 6-star review—this truly made our day! We hope to welcome you back soon.

My 2 aunts were at The Potteries together receiving end of life care. I cannot praise the care home enough for the outstanding care dignity and respect both aunts received. Everything was tailored to their needs and nothing was too much trouble. All the staff in their uniforms was nice to see to understand
their roles and all staff were so polite and super friendly. I stayed overnight in a guest room to be with my aunts 24/7 so I saw day & night staff and all were equal in delivering their first class care. The food was very good as well with a choice of "home-cooked" meals everyday and taking them to the cafe for coffee & cake felt like a real treat to them.
I would highly recommend The Potteries Care Home to anyone seeking care for a relative in Poole. Well done to all of you!

As the weeks pass, I have become more and more impressed by The Potteries! All the employees are so welcoming and friendly, always greeting residents by their first name. They are also always smartly dressed (and colour coded too!). The food is interesting, well balanced, and the Help Yourself Cafe
is excellent (particularly now after the new machine has been installed)! Residents' clothes are washed and ironed daily. There is a lovely garden to walk in for exercise. There are daily activities, and the "one-to-ones" are extremely popular. Local musicians visit and are very much appreciated.

My mother has been a resident since April of this year, and I can't praise all the staff enough. They all know her by name and treat her with genuine kindness and respect. She takes part in many of the activities offered, and the activities team clearly put a lot of effort into creating a fun and stimulating
environment for the residents. The home is always clean and really welcoming, and the cakes in the cafe are delicious! I am pleased with the care she receives, and it gives me peace of mind knowing she's in such capable hands.

We have been very happy with the service and environment provided by The Potteries. Dad is safe - our primary concern, but also cared for, genuinely, by all the staff, from the nursing staff providing his primary care through to front of house and maintenance. Everyone knows Dad's name and they all
say hello and make the time to engage with him. The activities are also second to none, they're varied and engaging and are keeping his spirits high. I would love to see more 'DIY' type activities for dad - he loved the gentleman's club but it is only once a month. If there was a possibility of more of this, that would be great!

We have all been very impressed with The Potteries. They have gone out of their way to make sure my father has settled in. They have gone the extra mile to help with his rehabilitation when the NHS hasn't really been able to help him yet due to a lack of resources. All members of staff are very polite

We viewed several homes in the area and my sister her husband a decent one we all agreed on this one. Definitely not disappointed the staff are all very friendly and approachable for and queries that we have regarding Mums care and well-being your always greeted by a friendly receptionist and the management
are particularly good at sorting out any questions you have. Mum has top level care and is invited to join in on any activities that are happening on that day, there is always something good going on with the activities staff. The home is always clean and smells good unlike some that I have visited and the coffee shop is a good area for a chat with other residents families. Mum seems to be happy staying at the home and did make some nice friends when she first moved there. All in all 10/10.
