Magna Care centre deserves more than 5 stars! Towards the end of a year of caring for our Dad through the final stages of terminal cancer, coping with all the treatments, the hospital and Hospice visits and stays, culminating in having carers to his home three times a day, Dad had endured enough and
we were thankfully guided by the Palliative Care Team to find his final home in every sense of the word. Magna Care Centre is nestled in beautiful grounds at Canford Magna and is a true breath of fresh air! What an oasis of calm, tranquility and perfection it is! Immediately upon speaking with the lovely Stella on the phone, to entering the welcoming doors of the Spanish Hacienda style entrance, my brother and I knew we had "found the one". We cannot commend the home more highly to anyone who needs help facing the difficult decision of placing the care and responsibility of their nearest and dearest at a time when you are overwhelmed and sad to your core. Stella gave us a tour of the bright,

Premises: On approach, initial impression was very good. Ample parking. Grounds kept to a good state. Reception area immaculate and security was good. Always greeted with a smile and known by first name, which was a great personal touch.
Staff: Exceptionally helpful and very kind. Very professional
in what they did. Their personal care and hygiene was exceptional.
Meals: meals and cakes were of a very high standard.
Minor observation: Wet room shower floor gave impression/feeling a bit slippery.

Mum became a resident of Magna Care back in July 2025.
It was a very simple selection process for our family as Dad was also at Magna Care before passing away in May 2025.
With Mum's care as it was with Dad's care was provided to the highest levels not only with all care needs met but, with compassion
and understanding towards individual needs.
The entire Team at Magna deliver above and beyond expectations.
Not only is the location of Magna Care outstanding the facilites are quite exceptional, providing a calm relaxing safe freindly and happy environment.
As a family we could not speak more highly of Magna Care's excellence and the peace of mind provided knowing Mum was recieving exceptional support each and everyday.
Thank you to all at Magna Care.

I fractured my left hip and had to have a total hip replacement. As I live on my own in a 3 bedroom house, I was unable after leaving hospital to go home. My son visited a few care homes and thought that Ferndown Manor would be just what I needed for 4 weeks, I can't praise it too highly. The overall
experience was exceptional. The day and night staff were so caring. I cannot fault the hygiene and personal care I received. Catering and food was excellent, and I had a birthday whilst there and received a birthday cake, which was unexpected.
I would recommend Ferndown Manor Care Home to anyone.

Always made very welcome. Nothing is too much trouble. Great diary of activities, always planned, and a timetable issued. Facilities are always available, and take time to maintain the residents' belongings and room tidiness.

After all the stresses of my father's illness we eventually found the Magna Care Centre which was a breath of fresh air and, in all truthfulness, a relief to have the chance to settle Dad into a safe, comfortable and caring environment. Dad was afforded a good sized room with great facilities and views
of the surrounding lawns. As visitors we were always welcome and enjoyed the ambiance and activity in the main areas. During his short time at Magna Care, Dad was treated with compassion, dignity and genuine care. Every staff member from carers, nurses, kitchen, housekeeping and administration were exceptional.
In all Magna Care was a fantastic experience.

My Mother has been staying at Magna Care Centre since December 2025. Mum is now very settled at the care home . The nurses, carers and all of the staff are always friendly and helpful and all of Mum's needs are met with professionalism, compassion and smiles. The food is excellent and enjoyed by all!
The daily activities are always varied, creative and full of fun! Housekeeping and maintenance keep the home very clean and tidy and are always there to support all of the residents. Mum is looking forward to sitting outside in the Spring in their pretty courtyard garden full of flowers and plants to enjoy in the sunshine. The home arranges lots of interesting events that often includes the local community so everyone can get involved and enjoy being together. Magna really is a special home from home and Mum has made some really special friends and this is a joy to see. The property is spacious and bright and sits within manicured lawns with terraces and woodlands to relax and enjoy.
Reply from Rhiannon Freeman-Gray, Divisional Marketing Manager at MagnaThank you for taking the time to leave us such a fantastic review! Anning House

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My 86 year old mother has end stage Parkinson's, is very thin and frail, and needs help with almost everything she does. The staff at Anning House have taken great care to get to know my mother, what she does and doesn't like, how she responds best and they have treated her gently and with the utmost
respect since she arrived with them 6 weeks ago.

She is happy in her surroundings, the home is elegant and comfortable, she has a large room which is always immaculate thanks to the friendly cleaner, George. The staff are very attentive, checking in on her, and, if she feels up to it, they take her to the lounge, where she can socialise, or enjoy the entertainment that is laid on every afternoon.

I am so relieved that Anning House has turned out to be even better than I had hoped, their medical care is first rate and my mother settled in well.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My daughter and I visited The Potteries in June 2025 and I knew from the outset that this would be the home of my choice for my husband. I liked the spacious ground floor entrance, the friendliness of the staff and on listening as to how the dementia residents are cared for, I felt at ease. I felt
that whilst, at first, things may be difficult once settled, all would be well. My husband became a resident in July 2025 and with the care, kindness and understanding shown to him in those first few weeks settled far better than I had anticipated . From the very outset I felt "at home", and that I could talk to any member of staff about any concerns that I may have regarding my husband. My husband has now been a resident at The Potteries for eight months during which time the care that he has received has been exceptional, the activities and the one to one sessions provided by the lifestyle team are amazing and that we can now, once more, enjoy our time together as husband and wife.

The Potteries Care Home is a lovely and well preserved home that provides caring and supportive staff throughout. It also offers very good facilities, accommodating no only (and more importantly its residents), but also families and visitors. For example, it presents a lovely refreshments area,
offering hot and cold beverages, cakes etc, for residents, family and friends to enjoy in a comfortable environment. Furthermore, provides a comprehensive selection of activities for residents to choose from and enjoy weekly.

My mother has been a resident at The Potteries for over three years and I am pleased with the care she receives. Mum is physically disabled but mentally agile; it's reassuring to see her needs considered and supported - this is routinely reflected in her cheerful disposition. The staff are kind and
patient, and willing to answer questions, quickly sort any issues, and will often go 'a step beyond'. The Potteries is welcoming and clean, and the family is reassured that mum is in the best hands: safe, well cared for, and happy.

From the initial care needs assessment provided, which was very comprehensive and thoughtful, there has never been any hesitation to supply us with additional information or offer any support when needed.
Sadly my father has now passed away but there is comfort in the knowledge that his last few months
were spent in comfort, with his wife and excellent nursing care delivered with compassion and dignity.
My mothers care remains exceptional and over a difficult few months they have thoughtfully helped her to adjust not only to moving into her new home but also losing her husband. They have brought a little sunshine into her life through smiles, company and various regular activities provided on a daily basis. The staff are always positive, polite, professional and above all caring and considerate. Nothing is ever too much trouble and they always offer a warm welcome.
I would highly recommend Anning House without hesitation. It has a homely atmosphere with an amazing care family.

While mum was slightly unsettled at the prospect of moving into Anning House for respite the staff have gone over and above to make her feel welcome, even noticing an upcoming birthday an making suggestions to family of how they could host a party or afternoon tea and ideas of decorating. I have been
kept up to date with regular phone calls and opinions sought on both care plan but general wellbeing and likes / dislikes etc. The result of the care and attention from staff is mum has now settled, regularly taking part in the broad and varied daily activity schedules planned meticulously by the activity coordinators. Mum has even had some pampering with her hair and nails done. All the staff from the reception, to the nursing team are amazing, professional, knowledgeable and welcoming and I could not wish for anything more, the combined care really gives me peace of mind and mum is thriving with the personal care and attention she receives. My thanks to everyone at Anning House
