I have been visiting my aunt since she moved in to Ferndown Manor, the rooms and facilities are exceptional and the staff brilliant, guests seem very happy and enjoy there entertainment, trips out and various work shops.

The new refurbishment is looking good.

Review of Anning House from Celia M (Husband of Resident) published on 21 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My husband stayed in Anning House for two weeks rest bite care. We found the staff to be very helpful, friendly and efficient. He was quickly made to feel at home in his new surroundings. The food was good with a choice at each meal and served in a formal dining room with care and courtesy. Our favourite place was the lovely garden, sitting in the shade with cappuccino or other hot or cold drinks from the cafe.

We choose Anning because it was purpose built with good shower rooms and other modern facilities whereas many other care homes are in older adapted buildings and we were delighted with our choice especially as friends visiting confirmed our decision

Review of Magna from David B (Friend of Resident) published on 30 July 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

Our neighbour was placed in Magna Care Home to be with his wife. He had been her carer, which had made him unwell. While there the compassionate care he had revitalised him. His wife passed away after 6 months, but with the good food, attention and activities, the remaining 18 months of his life were happy and contented. His final comments were 'I don't want to go to hospital, I'll die here'. He passed away at 96 years fully cared for.

I cannot thank Donna the Customer Relations Manager enough for helping me get my mum into Ferndown Manor within 24 hours of being told my mum could leave hospital for some rehabilitation after her long stay in hospital. Everything went smoothly with the help of Donna.
The Anning team who look after my mum are amazing. I have to thank Jazz and Lucy who have been amazing with me. Giving me the support I have needed to care for my mum in her rehabilitation.
The rest of the Anning team have also been very helpful in caring for my mum - thank you all.

All the staff from reception to the top are always so friendly and helpful which has been much appreciated at this very difficult time.

Review of The Potteries from Barry S (Nephew of Resident) published on 9 July 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience
From the outset the admission process was made as easy as possible and therefore relatively stress free. From the admission in August 2024 everyone went out of their way to make her comfortable and welcome in her new home.
Whilst there she enjoyed many of the activities and excursions and the special treats provided or special occassions ie: Birthdays.

She also very much enjoyed a daily visit to the tea bar for coffee and cake.

Review of Magna from Liz M (Daughter of Resident) published on 1 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My mother was taken to Magna Care Centre in a private ambulance all the way from Kent. They settled her in at 7pm in the evening after 3 very stressful weeks in hospital. All the staff worked together as a team and supported each other as well as the residents and their visitors. My mum was made very comfortable. She was very very ill and the carers and staff helped her to be comfortable and relaxed as far as possible and prepared me for her death which came after 7 short days. Without their understanding and information she would not have seen her grandchildren in those last days and that was worth a huge amount to our family. The home has a real buzz to it and I would recommend it to anyone.

Review of Ferndown Manor from Amanda E (Daughter of Resident) published on 1 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Our family had no experience of care homes when we started looking. We visited Ferndown Manor and one other. Within the first 10 mins of our visit here we knew it was the right place for our mum.
The friendliness of the staff, the lovely environment, and the welcoming ambience. I particularly wanted a care home that felt more like a small hotel with no 'institutional' look and feel. In short it felt right here.
Mum's room is lovely - a good size, quality furniture, warm and welcoming. We were encouraged from day one to bring in pictures and photos which were put up on the wall immediately. On our first day, we had visits from Activities to learn more about mums interests and tell us what was on. The chef even visited to tell us all about the menus and learn of any personal wishes. The food is great quality and varied.

Mum has settled in well. She loves the staff and lights up when she sees them. They are so caring and make all the residents feel special. It's a wonderful care home!
