A brilliant thank you to the customer relations manager and her support staff for being so welcoming and professional in their approach. Nothing too much trouble.
Also a big thank you to the nursing staff who were so diligent and compassionate during my stepmother's brief stay.

Reply from Gemma Houghton, Reviews Team at Ferndown Manor

Your review honestly made my day! It was such a pleasure to meet you and be able to help during your stepmother's stay with us. We know how important those little touches of care and compassion are, so hearing that it made a difference means the world.

The Nursing Team will be thrilled to know their kindness and diligence didn't go unnoticed - I'll make sure they hear your lovely words.

Take care and thank you again for taking the time to share this.

As the weeks pass, I have become more and more impressed by The Potteries! All the employees are so welcoming and friendly, always greeting residents by their first name. They are also always smartly dressed (and colour coded too!). The food is interesting, well balanced, and the Help Yourself Cafe
is excellent (particularly now after the new machine has been installed)! Residents' clothes are washed and ironed daily. There is a lovely garden to walk in for exercise. There are daily activities, and the "one-to-ones" are extremely popular. Local musicians visit and are very much appreciated.

My mother has been a resident since April of this year, and I can't praise all the staff enough. They all know her by name and treat her with genuine kindness and respect. She takes part in many of the activities offered, and the activities team clearly put a lot of effort into creating a fun and stimulating
environment for the residents. The home is always clean and really welcoming, and the cakes in the cafe are delicious! I am pleased with the care she receives, and it gives me peace of mind knowing she's in such capable hands.

Thank you for all the incredible care and compassion shown to my friends. All staff, throughout our time in The Potteries went above and beyond with the care delivered. The care for those approaching their final days, and the compassion for family and friends, makes a very difficult situation more bearable.
Thank you especially to the manager and also the kind nurse who was so gentle.

We have been very happy with the service and environment provided by The Potteries. Dad is safe - our primary concern, but also cared for, genuinely, by all the staff, from the nursing staff providing his primary care through to front of house and maintenance. Everyone knows Dad's name and they all
say hello and make the time to engage with him. The activities are also second to none, they're varied and engaging and are keeping his spirits high. I would love to see more 'DIY' type activities for dad - he loved the gentleman's club but it is only once a month. If there was a possibility of more of this, that would be great!

I would have no hesitation in recommending The Potteries for the care of their loved one. Our mum was so happy there, and her last few weeks of life were treated with genuine care and dignity. All levels of staff were outstanding and showed genuine care and support, not only to mum, but also us as a
family. Nothing was too much trouble. We cannot thank you all enough for your love and understanding in those last few weeks.

We have all been very impressed with The Potteries. They have gone out of their way to make sure my father has settled in. They have gone the extra mile to help with his rehabilitation when the NHS hasn't really been able to help him yet due to a lack of resources. All members of staff are very polite
and are always smiling. We couldn't have asked for more.

We viewed several homes in the area and my sister her husband a decent one we all agreed on this one. Definitely not disappointed the staff are all very friendly and approachable for and queries that we have regarding Mums care and well-being your always greeted by a friendly receptionist and the management
are particularly good at sorting out any questions you have. Mum has top level care and is invited to join in on any activities that are happening on that day, there is always something good going on with the activities staff. The home is always clean and smells good unlike some that I have visited and the coffee shop is a good area for a chat with other residents families. Mum seems to be happy staying at the home and did make some nice friends when she first moved there. All in all 10/10.

My mum has been in Ferndown Manor for just over a year now, and she is very happy. There are always lots of lovely activities for her to take part in, she particularly likes music and the visits from various performers and loves animals. As a family, we are so grateful that mum is able to live here
as she is safe, happy and very cared for. Ferndown Manor has a very friendly atmosphere and all the staff across the board are amazing. Thank you all so much.

Would like to say a massive thank you to all the staff at The Potteries who looked after dad.
You are all amazing and not sure how we can ever repay you. I know some times he was challenging especially if he didn't have his dinner on a hot plate or if his hot cross buns were not toasted how he liked
them, but he thought you were all brilliant.
The last couple of months have been challenging with dad deteriorating until he took his final breath on Sunday.
You have been our life line over the last few months and dad thought the world of you all.
Not sure how we would have got through this without out you.
Thanks again to everyone who cared for dad, you are all very special people xx

My mum has just had two weeks respite in the potteries. I was so impressed with the home and the staff.
The home is welcoming with a bright and airey reception and cafe area. The staff are very caring and pay great attention to detail , everyone seemed to know her name from day one .
I delivered her
case the afternoon before admission , her clothes were taken and immediately named and were hanging in her wardrobe/ drawers when we arrived . The lifestyle team encouraged mum to take part in activities of which there are many .Mum enjoyed the meals and the chef and team provided lovely cakes everyday for the cafe.
Many thanks to all at the potteries , would definitely recommend if you are looking for a care home .

The Manor is a spacious and pleasant environment. It is always clean and neat, and the staff are always pleasant. The arrangement of the rooms from a visitor's point of view could do with reviewing, as there is generally not a visitor's chair, and if there is you can only sit on the other side of the
bed and if there is not you have to sit on the bed.

Reply from Samantha Debenham, Reviews Team at Ferndown Manor

Thank you for your thoughtful review! We're so pleased to hear that you find our home spacious, clean, and welcoming, and that you've had positive interactions with our staff. We always strive to maintain a comfortable and pleasant environment for both residents and their families. We appreciate your feedback regarding the visitor seating arrangements. We understand how important it is to have comfortable and accessible seating during visits. Your suggestion to review the room layout to better accommodate visitors will be considered as we continue to improve the experience for everyone. Thank you again for your valuable input.
