The careers and nurses were kind. Gave mum safety and security. Very kind and helpful. They did there very best. Despite being short staffed.

Mum was adamant she did not want to go into respite care for a week while my sister and I took a break from caring for her. Magna Care Home has changed her prospective, and she would be happy to return. In fact, she came out on a high! From the moment she arrived until the moment she left, she had been
cared for, encouraged to mix and join in activities. My sister and I were relieved when we went away knowing mum would receive regular meals, her medication, and she would be living in clean, lovely surroundings. I can't praise the home and staff enough.

I regularly visit my grandma and am met by wonderful, caring staff who can't do enough for our grandma. We feel at peace knowing she is at The Potteries. She interacts with other residents and staff and always has activities to keep her occupied. Our favourite is the cafe where the whole family can
came and socialise with delicious tea and cakes.

My friend became a resident two years ago. His stay was made welcome by all the staff, no matter what role they did. His stay at Magna care home was a very happy one. The staff made him feel comfortable and happy. He couldn't want for a better place to stay during his end-of-life care. I'm totally grateful
for the care and attention my friend wishes

Everytime I have visited my brother I have always come away with the feeling that there could not be a better caer home to be in. Entering the home I always receive a warm welcome and am immediately impressed with the way the staff are connecting with the residents bth on a one to one basis and group
activities. My brother is always full of praise for the staff and appreciative to the care he receives. All of the family could not ask for more. Thank you.

The staff are lovely very friendly caring and helpful. However there are things that could be improved sometimes in the lounge in the mornings there isn't much going on. One resident actually said to me "I'd just as well go back to my room, there's nothing much going on here". Also the dining room is
used to mainly be tables for 4 now its mainly tables of 2, why? How are residents going to get to know each other better if there only 2 on a table. The guttering needs cleaning out, its building in places.
Reply from Samantha Debenham, Reviews Team at MagnaThank you for taking the time to provide feedback about Magna. Your feedback is very valuable to us.

We are very pleased to hear that you find the staff to be lovely, caring, friendly and helpful. They hold themselves to a very high standard, and your words will be greatly appreciated by them as they continue their hard work.

We are, however, sorry to read of your concerns regarding the activities on offer, the dining room placement and the guttering.
Please be advised that a member of the wellbeing team is available in the main lounge, Monday through Saturday, from 8:00 am to 9:00 am, with organised activities running throughout the day until 4:00 pm.
On Sundays, residents have expressed a preference to watch the live-streamed church service, which is supported by the care team. Following this, quieter activities are made available for residents to access independently at their leisure.
We are also pleased to share that Magna has recently been nominated for an award recognising our wellbeing services, which I do hope provides you with some reassurance.

With regard to dining room arrangements, we can confirm that the room is set with tables of four, and all residents are encouraged and supported to attend mealtimes within the dining room and to engage socially at the tables.

Please be advised that the guttering remains part of an ongoing maintenance review. The majority of areas have now been completed, and the remaining sections continue to be addressed.

We do hope that we have been able to provide you with reassurance; however, should you wish to discuss this further, please do reach out to the Home Manager, who would be happy to arrange for this.

Both my parents have been residents, both short term for respite and long term and the staff have been caring and considerate. It gives peace of mind that they will be

given the care and attention that they can no longer get at home.

My husband and I found Magna Care Home five years ago for our friend. He was disabled and wheelchair bound, and it was our last choice in the area that would be suitable for us to visit without travelling too far. He had been turned down by other homes and we thought it would be the same response from
Magna. It was the very best we could have hoped for and he was welcoming with open arms by the staff. He was respected at all times, and I could not be happier to say the best decision we have made on his behalf.

Ferndown Manor

Mum is receiving excellent care in every way. She has lived at Ferndown Manor for just over a month. As a family, we find it a welcoming and happy place. We are reasured that mum has constant care, is safe and can take part in organised activities as she likes. Everything was taken care of as Mum made
the move. From our first enquiries, all staff were friendly and offered coffee and cakes in the bistro. It is sometimes busy with residents, staff, visiting children, and even dogs. A lovely vibe. Mum looks so well, taking pride again in herself. She chats with others in the dining room, building new friendships. She has a calm room with plenty of daylight, and has made it her own with her favourite possessions. Mum says she can't fault anything. Good to see her settled.

My mum has been a resident for almost 6 weeks now. The staff made here feel very welcome and she has settled in very well. Mum has found the staff friendly, caring and respectful. She enjoys all the activities and joins in whenever possible. In fact all who visit my mum have been made to feel welcome
and the café area has an at home feel about it. The grounds are well kept as are the communal areas and mum has a very nice room. I cannot fault the care she receives here. My family viewed several care homes on mum's behalf before settling on Ferndown Manor, which we ultimately chose because of its overall atmosphere and felt it was the best match for mum's personality.

I don't even know where to start, but from the moment we stepped into the magna for a look around, it felt like home. It was warm and cosy and had a real family feel to it. All the staff were happy and smiley and would say hello. We knew instantly this was the right place for my nanny to come after
viewing multiple other homes. The rooms were spacious, clean and tidy and decorated perfectly. There is a lovely lounge area to sit in and they were so welcoming to family and friends that visited. We were able to stay for meals and the staff were so inclusive with family. Although nanny wasn't there long, she was extremely well cared for and looked after. The staff at magna all hold a special place in our hearts for the love and care they not only showed nanny, but all the family as well. I highly recommend the Magna to anyone looking for somewhere to send a loved one.
