I cannot thank Donna the Customer Relations Manager enough for helping me get my mum into Ferndown Manor within 24 hours of being told my mum could leave hospital for some rehabilitation after her long stay in hospital. Everything went smoothly with the help of Donna.
The Anning team who look after
my mum are amazing. I have to thank Jazz and Lucy who have been amazing with me. Giving me the support I have needed to care for my mum in her rehabilitation.
The rest of the Anning team have also been very helpful in caring for my mum - thank you all.
All the staff from reception to the top are always so friendly and helpful which has been much appreciated at this very difficult time.
Reply from Donna Milne-Barron, Reviews Team at Ferndown ManorThank you so much for your lovely feedback. It was a privilege to be able to arrange things swiftly and smoothly, particularly at this very difficult time for you and your family.
Anning team will be touched and delighted to hear your really kind feedback. I will ensure that I also pass your your lovely comments to Jazz and Lucy as well as all of the staff. We are also very fortunate to have a supportive Home Manager who understands the importance of responding quickly when families need us most. We hope that mum is well and that she is enjoying being back at home. Please send her our very best wishes. Thank you again ??

From the outset the admission process was made as easy as possible and therefore relatively stress free. From the admission in August 2024 everyone went out of their way to make her comfortable and welcome in her new home.
Whilst there she enjoyed many of the activities and excursions and the special
treats provided or special occassions ie: Birthdays.
She also very much enjoyed a daily visit to the tea bar for coffee and cake.

My mother was taken to Magna Care Centre in a private ambulance all the way from Kent. They settled her in at 7pm in the evening after 3 very stressful weeks in hospital. All the staff worked together as a team and supported each other as well as the residents and their visitors. My mum was made very
comfortable. She was very very ill and the carers and staff helped her to be comfortable and relaxed as far as possible and prepared me for her death which came after 7 short days. Without their understanding and information she would not have seen her grandchildren in those last days and that was worth a huge amount to our family. The home has a real buzz to it and I would recommend it to anyone.

Ferndown Manor

Our family had no experience of care homes when we started looking. We visited Ferndown Manor and one other. Within the first 10 mins of our visit here we knew it was the right place for our mum.
The friendliness of the staff, the lovely environment, and the welcoming ambience. I particularly wanted
a care home that felt more like a small hotel with no 'institutional' look and feel. In short it felt right here.
Mum's room is lovely - a good size, quality furniture, warm and welcoming. We were encouraged from day one to bring in pictures and photos which were put up on the wall immediately. On our first day, we had visits from Activities to learn more about mums interests and tell us what was on. The chef even visited to tell us all about the menus and learn of any personal wishes. The food is great quality and varied.
Mum has settled in well. She loves the staff and lights up when she sees them. They are so caring and make all the residents feel special. It's a wonderful care home!
Reply from Donna Milne-Barron, Reviews Team at Ferndown ManorThank you for your wonderful review. We are delighted that Ferndown Manor felt like the right home for your mum. She is a wonderful lady and we are all very fond of her.
We try to create a 'home from home' feel approach to ensure our residents feel happy, valued and of course feel loved and cared for. Person - centred care is at the heart of everything we do.
Thank you also for your kind comments about our Activities team, chef, accommodation, and our dining experience and all of the staff, we are truly grateful. Best wishes.

Staff are always happy and smiling. Nothing is too much trouble. The team are always on hand to help answer any queries that may arise. Mom is offered choices with regard to activities to join in with. She is encouraged to play a full part in day-to-day pursuits. From reception, carers, activity maintenance
and management. The whole team are a credit to Care UK.

The careers and nurses were kind. Gave mum safety and security. Very kind and helpful. They did there very best. Despite being short staffed.
Reply from Samantha Debenham, Reviews Team at The PotteriesThank you for taking the time to leave some wonderful feedback for The Potteries.
We are so pleased to hear that you found the staff to be kind, helpful and provided your mum with safety and security. The team hold themselves to a very high standard and your kind words will be appreciated by them as they continue their hard work.
We are sorry to hear of your concerns regarding staffing levels. Where there is staff absence, for differing reasons, agencies are contacted to provide cover and support.

Mum was adamant she did not want to go into respite care for a week while my sister and I took a break from caring for her. Magna Care Home has changed her prospective, and she would be happy to return. In fact, she came out on a high! From the moment she arrived until the moment she left, she had been
cared for, encouraged to mix and join in activities. My sister and I were relieved when we went away knowing mum would receive regular meals, her medication, and she would be living in clean, lovely surroundings. I can't praise the home and staff enough.
