Mums dementia means she is is often confused and doesn't find it easy to make meaningful relationships with others anymore but every member of staff, at every level, is now considered her friend and they will always greet her with a smile, a hug, a big hello and even a little dance! Mums daily life is full of interactions and whilst she is reluctant to join in activities, she loves the cafe and the contact she gets there from others.

The staff were all absolutely lovely and did their best to make my parents feel looked after. The cleanliness was excellent as was the food. The rooms were very comfortable. I feel that my one thought regarding any improvements would be higher levels of staffing.

Both of my parents were at Lonsdale Mews Carehome, but sadly, in April 2026 my father passed following a sharp decline in his dementia. The end of life care he received was amazing making his onward journey so much easier for the family to cope with. They don't really advertise this side of what they do but the attention to detail along the way is phenomenal. The carers were also so kind to Mum during this difficult time ensuring she was kept informed of Dad's situation despite struggling with her own dementia. Several of the carers attended Dad's funeral in their own time which was so kind. The carers say the residents are 'their extended family' and 'why wouldn't they wish to say goodbye'. They are all such special people. They took special care of Mum, ensuring that she wasn't affected by his absence, ensuring that she participated in the varied activities, with the warm weather taking them outdoors to enjoy the sunshine. Lonsdale is a wonderful place.

The atmosphere within Lonsdale is professional friendly compassionate enabling and skilled. This is only achieved by the knowledge skills and attitude of the whole team who work tirelessly to ensure the quality of life for residents is as good as it can be. The staff work and communicate as a team regardless of role or position. It is evident that Lonsdale encourages and supports learning and development for staff and the sharing of knowledge is encouraged and embraced.

Thank you to all the wonderful staff for everything you do. I would highly recommend this care home for anyone looking for a safe, caring and friendly place for a loved one.

Communication has been excellent throughout. We are kept informed and always feel listened to, giving us real peace of mind. Above all, Mum has settled in well, feels safe and happy, and often comments on how friendly the staff are. We would have no hesitation in recommending Lonsdale Mews.

From my first contact with the care home in late 2025 through until my mum's departure in July 2026 all the staff at every level showed exemplary professionalism, skill, caring and empathy for my mum. The home itself is of the highest standard and all staff are approachable and cannot do enough to help, whatever the issue that is raised. My experience was that the staff not only care for the residents, but all visitors are made to feel welcome too which is a bonus during sometimes difficult times. The level of activities and support provided to mum were superb and she really thrived after moving into her clean well appointed room. The food is of a very high standard and the lovely gardens were a definite bonus during the recent heatwaves. I know mum also really enjoyed her recent birthday party with the fantastic cake which was provided for her. I would have no hesitation in thoroughly recommending Lonsdale Mews to anyone looking to obtain top class care for their loved ones.

Lonsdale Mews is a lovely environment to be a part of and I have only good things to say about it! My Mum recently spent a few months on the Bradgate wing. Everyone in her team of carers was amazing and really went out of their way to help her settle in and make her feel comfortable in her new environment. You feel that the care teams all genuinely love the residents and want to get to know them and make them feel special, spending time building a bond with each of them. This approach extended to all the staff I came into contact with from reception, entertainment team, housekeeping, customer relations and all the care teams. Other points to note - the meal choices are good and food very tasty (including Mum's delicious and beautifully decorated birthday cake!) gardens are beautiful and well-maintained, cafe area near reception is very welcoming and there is a positive, welcoming vibe to the whole place whenever I have visited.

My mother in law is very happy here and feels very much 'at home'

My sister came here initially for respite after her husband passed away in 2023 and then moved in permanently. There is a very happy, caring and fun vibe as soon as you come into the building. The staff are all so caring and fully understand each individual resident's wishes and needs. They offer care but also encourage my sister to be as self sufficient as she can be giving her, her own space. There is a programme of activities to do each day. Outings to local garden centres, theatres and so much more. The garden is so tranquil but always in use. The food is amazing and there's always a celebration going on with the Prosecco flowing. The ensuite rooms are of a good size. In short, this is a wonderful, wonderful place. As I live 250 miles away, Lonsdale Mews and all who work there give me the peace of mind that she is 100% loved and she's well cared for. I cannot recommend this care home enough. Simply thank you, doesn't cover how grateful I am. If you are unsure, a visit is a must.

Lonsdale Mews is a fantastic care home. From the minute we were shown round we were impressed and we are still impressed every day by the excellent care Dad is receiving. There is a lovely vibe about the place and being able to go to the cafe is wonderful. The rooms are decorated beautifully, in many ways it feels more like a hotel than a care home, and the gardens are stunning and lovely to sit in. Dad has put on quite a bit of weight since starting there and that's been due to the fact he likes the food so much and is being looked after so well. There are many activities arranged and in fact it feels like something is always going on. We attended the recent Armed Forces Day where there was a band and that was great fun. Nothing is too much trouble and all the staff are really friendly and welcoming. I can't praise Lonsdale Mews enough! We are very grateful to everyone there.

Mum has been at Lonsdale Mews for over 2 years now and the care and support continues to be first class. It is lovely when I visit and the staff always have a smile and are quick to provide an update on Mum. Dad also stayed at Lonsdale Mews until he recently died; the additional end of life care was exceptional and it was lovely that several staff members attended his funeral on their own time; that says so much. Since then everyone has been looking out for Mum and ensuring she is engaged with the fantastic activities and events on offer.

The cafe is a great space to take your relative for a change in surroundings.

In summery, Lonsdale truly is a "Home-from-Home".

9 months since Mum arrived from one of the top 100 luxury care homes in England ... her physical health has improved considerably and her medication significantly reduced. Whilst dementia is a cruel, one-way street, it is lovely to see her improve in these ways. This is due to a combination of the building layout (having more separate rooms, with great staff from the management through to the care, housekeeping, kitchen and activity teams. Everyone is thoroughly welcoming and caring.

My mum spoke so highly of everyone there and was constantly telling visitors how marvellous the staff were. I honestly can't thank them enough, because I was able to enjoy my holiday knowing she was settled, happy, and far less anxious than we had feared she might be. We are incredibly grateful for the kindness, care, and support shown to both my mum and our family.

It is hard to adequately express our gratitude to everyone at Lonsdale Mews. My Dad came to Lonsdale Mews for an initial 2 week respite period following a sudden decline in his mobility, recurrent falls and the death of my mother. Initially he was very frail, hardly eating , withdrawn and very resistant to the help and care that was offered. The wonderful staff showed great patience and compassion towards him and now a permanent resident, he is slowly returning to his old self. All the staff have been excellent in monitoring Dad, immediately acting on any health concerns and we get regular,detailed updates every time we visit. The staff have really taken the time to get to know Dad and the whole family, and their support of us all through some very challenging times has been wonderful. Lonsdale Mews is far removed from my initial preconceptions of a care home , with wonderful facilities, food and entertainment options but it is in their respect for the residents that they truly excel.
