My sister came here initially for respite after her husband passed away in 2023 and then moved in permanently. There is a very happy, caring and fun vibe as soon as you come into the building. The staff are all so caring and fully understand each individual resident's wishes and needs. They offer care but also encourage my sister to be as self sufficient as she can be giving her, her own space. There is a programme of activities to do each day. Outings to local garden centres, theatres and so much more. The garden is so tranquil but always in use. The food is amazing and there's always a celebration going on with the Prosecco flowing. The ensuite rooms are of a good size. In short, this is a wonderful, wonderful place. As I live 250 miles away, Lonsdale Mews and all who work there give me the peace of mind that she is 100% loved and she's well cared for. I cannot recommend this care home enough. Simply thank you, doesn't cover how grateful I am. If you are unsure, a visit is a must.
Your lovely words about our team,...
Dad is being cared for wonderfully - he loves it at Lonsdale and is grateful for the care he receives. The environment is a supportive, warm and friendly one with family and friends always welcome. Thank you!
Thank you so much for your lovely review and your kind words. We're so pleased to hear that your dad is happy at Lonsdale and feels so well cared for. It means a great deal to all of us, and we're always delighted to welcome you and your family. Thank you for your continued support.
Many thanksThe Lonsdale Mews Team
Care UK
Lonsdale Mews is a fantastic care home. From the minute we were shown round we were impressed and we are still impressed every day by the excellent care Dad is receiving. There is a lovely vibe about the place and being able to go to the cafe is wonderful. The rooms are decorated beautifully, in many ways it feels more like a hotel than a care home, and the gardens are stunning and lovely to sit in. Dad has put on quite a bit of weight since starting there and that's been due to the fact he likes the food so much and is being looked after so well. There are many activities arranged and in fact it feels like something is always going on. We attended the recent Armed Forces Day where there was a band and that was great fun. Nothing is too much trouble and all the staff are really friendly and welcoming. I can't praise Lonsdale Mews enough! We are very grateful to everyone there.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review and for taking the time to share your experience of Lonsdale Mews. We are delighted to hear that your dad is happy and well cared for with us. It's lovely to know you are enjoying our caf©, gardens, activities, and events too. Thank you for your kind...
Mum has been at Lonsdale Mews for over 2 years now and the care and support continues to be first class. It is lovely when I visit and the staff always have a smile and are quick to provide an update on Mum. Dad also stayed at Lonsdale Mews until he recently died; the additional end of life care was exceptional and it was lovely that several staff members attended his funeral on their own time; that says so much. Since then everyone has been looking out for Mum and ensuring she is engaged with the fantastic activities and events on offer.
Thank you for your very kind review and for your continued trust in our team.
We are honoured to have cared for your dad and to have supported your family during such an important time. It is wonderful to hear that you continue to be pleased with the care we provide for your mum and that she...
Plenty of activities for residents should they wish to take part. Wonderful garden with lots of seats in the shade.
The cafe is a great space to take your relative for a change in surroundings.
We really appreciate your kind feedback.
Many thanks

Care UK
From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels warm, safe, and genuinely caring. The staff go above and beyond to treat residents with dignity, patience and compassion.
The facility is spotless, well-organized, and thoughtfully designed to support the highest level of independence possible. Also, the security of the facility is very strong while remaining unobtrusive.
Activities are engaging, meals are excellent, and communication with families is outstanding.
It's clear that every team member is dedicated to providing exceptional care. I couldn't be more grateful for the support and peace of mind this wonderful community provides.
In summery, Lonsdale truly is a "Home-from-Home".
Thank you for your wonderful review and for taking the time to share your experience. We are delighted to hear that you feel Lonsdale is a true "home from home".
Your kind words about our caring team, welcoming atmosphere, activities, meals, and communication mean so much to us. We are...
The day she arrived was understandably difficult and emotional for all of us, but the staff welcomed her so warmly and made the whole experience far less stressful. We immediately felt she was in safe and capable hands. While I was away, they kept me informed of any issues, just as I had asked, which gave me great peace of mind.
My mum spoke so highly of everyone there and was constantly telling visitors how marvellous the staff were. I honestly can't thank them enough, because I was able to enjoy my holiday knowing she was settled, happy, and far less anxious than we had feared she might be. We are incredibly grateful for the kindness, care, and support shown to both my mum and our family.
We understand how important peace of mind is for families, and we’re so pleased our team could support both your mum and your family...
From the first time we talked it through with staff and until the day the stay ended, it was a first class experience for both of us.
The care, the personal touches and overall kindness is there for all to see and an atmosphere that is genuine and heartwarming.
My wife was happy and settled and I also relaxed knowing that she was being cared for by staff who understood her needs. The most valuable thing that anyone can give is time and love and I feel fortunate that she received both in abundance.
Thank you to everyone.
Thank you so much for your lovely review and kind words. We are very pleased to hear that you had such a positive experience about your wife's stay with us at Lonsdale Mews. It means a great deal to know she felt happy and well cared for, and that you were able to relax with peace of mind. Your...
It is hard to adequately express our gratitude to everyone at Lonsdale Mews. My Dad came to Lonsdale Mews for an initial 2 week respite period following a sudden decline in his mobility, recurrent falls and the death of my mother. Initially he was very frail, hardly eating , withdrawn and very resistant to the help and care that was offered. The wonderful staff showed great patience and compassion towards him and now a permanent resident, he is slowly returning to his old self. All the staff have been excellent in monitoring Dad, immediately acting on any health concerns and we get regular, detailed updates every time we visit. The staff have really taken the time to get to know Dad and the whole family, and their support of us all through some very challenging times has been wonderful. Lonsdale Mews is far removed from my initial preconceptions of a care home , with wonderful facilities, food and entertainment options but it is in their respect for the residents that they truly excel.
It means a great deal to know that our team’s patience, care, and support have made a positive difference during a difficult time for your family....
Mum has thrived at Lonsdale Mews since moving in nearly three years ago, following a difficult time after my father's passing. She often comments how lucky she is, how happy she in the home, how all the staff are so kind and helpful and thanks me for finding such a nice place. I second all those comments! The staff are friendly, welcoming, and keep me informed about Mum's wellbeing. The home is clean and beautifully furnished, and enjoying fresh cakes in the café and beautiful garden is a treat when I visit. The exceptional Lifestyle team provide at least two fun filled activities a day delivered with much enthusiasm and they've made sure all Mum's interests are catered for, they even took her riding and have arranged talks on birds as well as many art activities, music and singing. I can't recommend the home highly enough and I'm so glad we found it.
Your lovely comments about our staff, the home environment and our Lifestyle activities mean a great deal to us. It’s wonderful to know...
Nothing is ever too much trouble. As a family we are just so relieved and thrilled that a space was available at Lonsdale Mews for Dad. Lonsdale Mews redefines ''Care Home'. Unrivalled in Leicestershire.
It means a great deal to hear how you feel about the atmosphere in the home and the dedication of our teams, who are passionate about providing expert,...
My mother was resident at Lonsdale Mews for 4 plus years and I wish to commend the Care Provider on their professionalism and the kindness of the Care they provided. It was humbling experience. I am not allowed to us names I believe but of particular note was a truly outstanding Care assistant who's help over these years and the tenderness with which she provided such was genuinely humbling. Many thanks.
Your appreciation of the care, professionalism, and kindness shown, particularly by one of our care...
Her room is large and cosy; she was able to bring smaller pieces of furniture from home to make it her own. The cleanliness and decoration of her room and ensuite is of a very high standard. My mother has a very good appetite and really enjoys the variety and choices at each mealtime.
Lonsdale is head and shoulders above all the other residential care homes we looked at for my mother. The professionalism and attention to detail is exceptional, the welcoming atmosphere when you arrive in reception is wonderful. There is no way you could not instantly relax and
We are pleased to hear that the caring atmosphere, dedicated team, and welcoming...
care.
My wife and I live abroad and were only able to visit in yearly and the visible change is quite astounding! Since 2023 my mother has blossomed and is a completely different person. She is now engaged, visibly happy and actively participates in the numerous activities, organised by the Lonsdale Mews team.
When we visit we are made to feel immediately welcome and at home and our visits are always positive. My wife and I have the feeling that nothing is too much trouble and that all the staff are dedicated, happy, caring and truly love their jobs. ,
I will finish by simply saying - carry on the great work because what you are doing is exceptional in this day and age!
Your words mean a great deal to the entire Lonsdale Mews...
The corridors and public spaces are wide and the rooms well designed with ease of mobility being to the fore.
If you have to move into a care home, there's a lot to be said for living in this one.
We are delighted to hear that your mum has felt well cared for over the past three years, and we will be sure to pass your kind words on to the team.
We are very pleased that your mum enjoys the food, the 7-day...
We had to admit my mum and dad for respite very quickly on separate occasions. This was dealt with very promptly with great care and efficiency. I don't know what we would have done if this hadn't happened!
My dad has now been a permanent resident for 2 years.
I can honestly say that all members of staff are very caring and professional. They take an interest in the wellbeing of my dad and do not seem to just treat it as just a job.
The coffee bar in reception is a definite hit. It's a great place to take your loved one for a chat, coffee and cake (made fresh daily!), it really doesn't feel like a care home, more like a hotel.
Many activities take place around the home, and relatives are invited to join in.
Overall, this care home makes having your loved one cared for as pleasant as it can be in the circumstances!
We are delighted that you continue to enjoy the...
Sadly, over the last two years, 'Mum' has been a resident; both her physical and mental health have deteriorated; she has Alzheimer's, a very cruel disease.
All the staff understand the challenges involved in dealing with people living with dementia. All their residents are treated with dignity and respect at all times, and choices are always offered, whether they may be about meals, what clothing to wear, or in which activities they wish to take part.
The place is spotlessly clean, warm when it is cold outside, and furnished to good-quality hotel standards. Housekeeping does a meticulous job.
The food is healthy, varied, and nutritious. The Lifestyle Team does its best to ensure a range of activities, excursions to local attractions, and visits from outside 'entertainers' cater to the needs of an eclectic audience.
I have absolutely no doubt that Lonsdale Mews is well-managed and well-run.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback on your experience of Lonsdale Mews. We are very grateful for your kind words and are glad to hear that you feel confident in the care your mum receives from our team. We work hard to provide a warm, respectful, and dignified environment...
Mum has lived at Lonsdale Mews for over two years. Managers and staff know Mum well and care for her with kindness, fondness and compassion. The Team Leaders talk to me regularly about health matters and Mum's care plan is regularly updated. All care and non-care staff genuinely take pride in their work. Mum enjoys the varied menu and always has a choice of meal. The home has a homely welcoming feel and is well equipped and maintained. When Mum moves around the home and garden she often comments about what a lovely place it is. This summer we have thoroughly enjoyed spending time in the garden. The Lifestyle team organise daily activities and events. The Home's 5th birthday party was great fun and included everyone. Mum has visited Bradgate park and Quorn Railway Station in the last couple of months. Mum also enjoys being in her room listening to music looking out onto trees outside her window. As family members we feel supported too and very much part of the Lonsdale community.
Your words mean a lot to our team, and we will continue to provide the compassionate care and welcoming...
I visited Lonsdale Mews on the occasion of my Aunty' 100th birthday. As a Registered Nurse I am familiar with what to look for in a care home, and this home didn't disappoint!! It was clean, no odours and the staff we saw on the day treated those who live there with dignity and respect. You could tell that the staff were passionate about the job they do. All the residents looked at home which is important as it is their home. I cannot recommend this home highly enough. Thank you to the staff that make our loved one's lives enriched, you are amazing.
We are very proud to receive such positive feedback, particularly from someone with your experience in care. It means a great deal to our team to know that our commitment to...
From the very first phonecall to the home I spoke to people who evidently cared for me as the daughter of an unwell mum as well as my mum. The manager was particularly helpful, caring and professional before and during my mum's stay.
My mum received good quality care while she recovered from an infection, throughout the day and night. The chef very kindly made food to meet her dietary requirements.
I was impressed with the number of activities and events available for residents to attend throughout each day, the well stocked self service cafe and the main garden which was beautiful with plenty of seating.
Mum's room was nicely furnished and it was great that she had her own shower room.
I would definitely recommend this care home.
We'll be sure to share your lovely feedback with our chefs, care team, and activity team they'll be delighted to hear your comments.

Meet the Team (1)

I’m a Registered Mental Health Nurse and was a Dementia and Safeguarding Lead in a nursing home before I joined the Lonsdale Mews team. As a brand new home, Lonsdale Mews looked like an incredible place to work, and it offered exciting new opportunities.
Working with older people is incredibly rewarding, and my favourite part of the day is spending time with residents and their families, getting to know them. We’re a big home team, so it’s good to take time to get to know colleagues better, too.
While being adept at all things care-related is vital in this role, it’s also important to have strong communication and people skills. What we do is all about people, so I always aim to be approachable, open and fair.
When I’m not at work I enjoy going to music concerts and the cinema. I also love my holidays!
