The staff have been very helpful, friendly and welcoming. During this last month, they have been very organised in arranging visits via a pod, so that I can once again see my aunt. My aunt always seems happy to see us and seems to get on very well with her carers. They are very attentive to her needs.
Although near a main road it is always quiet and relaxing in the gardens. The rooms are kept nice and clean and many have different themes going on to make you feel relax.

This is a lovely care home with friendly staff and my grandma is loving it here! She’s always busy doing activities like arts and crafts or different exercises which I think is so important for an elderly person. Would definitely recommend this care home!

My mum moved to Lonsdale from another care home nearby recently and all I can say is that she has put on weight (after consistently losing weight at previous care home) and now looks like the Mum we love and know. She has daily activities which are evidenced on the website and I no longer feel like
she has been “put away” rather that she is now getting the bespoke care she deserves and needs. Well done Lonsdale and keep up the excellent service you provide.

Lonsdale Mew has been our saving grace. After seeing my nan decline rapidly (physically and mentally) in her previous care home the decision to move Nan to Lonsdale Mews has been nothing but successful. My nan is looking like Nan again, gaining weight and back to looking like our glam nan. Working full
time and not being able to see Nan due to C19 has been difficult however, the pods have been an absolute godsend. The staff have been welcoming and friendly and Nan appears to love it here.

My nan has only been at Lonsdale Mews for a number of weeks, and already we have since such a positive change in both her personality and appearance. She always looks presentable and is in high spirits and I can't wait until we are able to visit her properly!

I never wanted to have to put my mum into a care home but with her multiple health problems, being prone to falling and just coming out after 5 weeks in hospital, I couldn’t see any feasible alternative. I wanted ‘the best’ for Mum and certainly couldn’t find any better. So far the staff have shown
wonderful kindness to Mum to the point that even the chef visited her and made a special pudding she so badly wanted. Mum is still confused and her illnesses will be her demise but I will find solace in knowing that I couldn’t have found a better place. Of course, it’s expensive but no more so than a decent hotel.

My lovely mum transferred to Lonsdale Mews from another care home 2 weeks ago. She is treated like a queen! We were kept in the loop every step of the way, and nothing is too much trouble. We have spoken to different staff members, and the theme that seems to run right through the home, is that everyone
is happy and on board with the ethos of the home and Care UK, and that stems from the managers who are all an absolute delight to deal with. One of the team reassures me daily that all is well, with updates, photos and videos (including a Barry Manilow disco). It’s a big decision moving a loved one, but I know she could not be in better hands. I have seen a dramatic improvement in Mum in the short time she's been at Lonsdale, and that's due to the care and attention she is being afforded. We are able to visit her in the visiting pod which is a godsend, so she can still see her beloved dog Bear.

Lonsdale Mews has an absolutely fantastic team who give the warmest welcome, while remaining caring and professional. They made my family and I feel immediately at ease and confident in the fantastic level of care that's offered. Nothing is too much trouble for them to accommodate and it feels more
like a 5-star hotel than a care home. It's beautiful and has too many facilities to mention. I would highly recommend anyone to look at this beautiful home if considering residency for a loved one. It's early days for my mother settling in but so far I have no concerns and am highly impressed by the care and support she is receiving. Every member of staff that I've met has been wonderful, they are a fantastic team who are always willing to please and show genuine interest in each resident.

My mum has only been in Lonsdale Mews for a short time, but it’s already apparent that the staff truly care and go out of their way to ensure Mum has everything she needs. We have good communication with them and feel we are kept up to date with how Mum is, especially during the pandemic. The staff
are all very friendly and welcoming and the facilities are amazing. Infection control and Covid procedures are stringent which is reassuring. The visiting pod is in place so you can keep in touch, however the staff can also gladly arrange FaceTime calls too.

I have been overwhelmed by the care and kindness we have been given. The staff do everything they can to support and improve the physical, mental and emotional health of my partner. I greatly appreciate the communication between members of staff and myself, I'm always made to feel welcome and included
in issues about his care. My partner tells me often that he feels safe and loved at Lonsdale Mews there can be no greater accolade than this.

In Mum’s first week at Lonsdale Mews, she has been transformed! As there are so few residents 2 weeks after opening she is getting loads of stimulation and attention generally. After almost 8 months of seeing virtually no one apart from her morning carer and myself, she has a number of people checking
on her regularly. This means she is eating and drinking better, and beginning to enjoy her surroundings. She actually sent a video out to friends and family today.
Early days of course but all positives as far as we and she can see. Her comment yesterday was 'on a top-class cruise without any chance of balance problems'. It is luxurious!

Current Review Score: 10.0 (9.974)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 10 (9.974) out of 10 for Lonsdale Mews is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 71 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 71 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.974 for Lonsdale Mews is calculated as follows: ( (828 Excellents x 5) + (20 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 849 Ratings = 4.974
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Lonsdale Mews is based on 71 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 64 registered maximum number of service users is 12.8, which has been reached with 71 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager

I’m a Registered Mental Health Nurse and was a Dementia and Safeguarding Lead in a nursing home before I joined the Lonsdale Mews team. As a brand new home, Lonsdale Mews looked like an incredible place to work, and it offered exciting new opportunities.

Working with older people is incredibly rewarding, and my favourite part of the day is spending time with residents and their families, getting to know them. We’re a big home team, so it’s good to take time to get to know colleagues better, too.

While being adept at all things care-related is vital in this role, it’s also important to have strong communication and people skills. What we do is all about people, so I always aim to be approachable, open and fair.

When I’m not at work I enjoy going to music concerts and the cinema. I also love my holidays!
