The relationship manager was fantastic, when we visited to see if this was the right place for Dad she had so much time and care to explain everything with a lovely smile.
On Dad's admission day, all the staff made an effort to make Dad welcome by popping in to see him, nothing was too much trouble with fresh fruit and treats.
It was also lovely to get pictures of Dad throughout the ten days doing activities.
We thank you very much to the relationship manager and the team for making Dad's stay special.

Following his diagnosis of Rapid Advancing Mixed Dementia with Parkinson's, his stay became permanent. As his care needs increased, the team were with him every step of the way. Always with a smile, total respect, no fuss, complete professionalism, kindness and love.
His family and many visitors were all made to feel extremely welcome and cared for too. Nothing was too much trouble. My young sons were treated to ice creams and tea and cakes were always available.
The facilities are excellent. Clean, purpose-designed and built, all to a very high standard. Many of Dad's visitors who have visited other care homes commented that Lonsdale Mews was the best they'd been to.
The communication with Dad's carers was great too - always contactable and reassuring.

My father became a resident at Lonsdale Mews after a fall at home and a spell in hospital, which is traumatic for anyone, but for an older person even more so. From the minute we got there, he was made to feel welcome, and valued. Everyone went the extra mile, even the chef came and introduced herself, and was keen to find out his likes and dislikes. Dad's health and mobility improved remarkably, with the care, encouragement and stimulation he received, and as a family we felt reassured he was in the right place.
Thank you very much for taking the time to leave us a review of your experience. We are very pleased that your dad's health and mobility have improved since the fall and hope that this continues. It is nice to hear your feedback about how we personalise all that we do for residents and to reassure...

It also runs a wide choice of activities that residents can participate in if they so wish. The central garden is a gem. Lonsdale Mews is a lovely care home with great facilities and lots of activities the residents can take part in if they wish. The staff are amazing with both my mum, who has lived there for 2 years, and with my sister and myself, who visit regularly. I would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a care home for their loved one/s or themselves.

I feel so lucky, on Mum’s behalf, that Lonsdale Mews is now her home. The facilities and food are excellent. Truly residential care at its best, my opinion based on a career involving numerous care home visits.

The team at Lonsdale Mews has been wonderful to my 86-year-old mother who has Alzheimer’s. Arriving in 2022 she settled in quickly, and benefited tremendously from the organised framework of mealtimes and activities. Knowing that she is happy and being very well cared for is not only comforting for our family, but meets our goal for our deserving and much-loved mother. We should have made the move sooner.
Thank you to everyone at Lonsdale!
We are very happy with the level of care provided at Lonsdale Mews for my father-in-law. The whole team are warm and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. There is a tangible, upbeat culture but with lots of sensitivity and respect shown to residents and family members alike. There are many activities which residents can participate in if they’d like to. These are varied and lighthearted which adds to the general, positive feel of the home. Whilst we are all very sad as a family that my father-in-law is no longer able to live independently; we are so grateful to have found the next best thing for him. The home is really clean and decorated to a high standard with lots of lovely ‘home from home’ touches. Management is always accessible and highly responsive. Our two little boys love visiting their grandpa here which is a testament to the whole team who always makes us all feel so welcome (not to mention the ice pops in the freezer!). Thank you everyone at Lonsdale Mews.

The activites that are organised on a daily basis are varied and Dad does attend some of them especially the talks which are well-researched and presented.

It is wonderful to hear your compliments about the teams, which we will certainly feedback to them. We are also pleased to see your dad at our regular talks...
On Christian name terms with many, I try to visit each day with our Norfolk terrier, and he is much fussed over too! I have nothing negative to say about Lonsdale Mews in terms of the quality and care of the staff and the pleasure that all wish to bring to the variously afflicted residents. Friendly and readily available staff in a clean, and attractive facility, Lonsdale Mews and its catering will be hard to beat.
Thank you very much for taking the time to leave us feedback about your experience. We are very pleased to hear that you are happy with the level of care, comfort and detail with our person centred activities, we provide to support your wife at Lonsdale Mews.We are pleased that our dog friendly home...
Deciding that it was time to find a care home for my husband was the most difficult decision I have ever taken. All the staff at Lonsdale Mews are so friendly and caring and my husband's needs, likes and dislikes are taken into consideration at all times. He needs help with all aspects of daily life and the carers' patience and good humour could not be bettered. The rooms and communal areas are beautifully decorated with many homely touches and are kept spotlessly clean. Of great importance to my husband is the quality of the meals, which are excellent! I am so pleased that my husband can choose whether to participate or not in the many activities each week. He is not much of a joiner but we have both enjoyed the musical afternoons. All in all, I do not believe that I could have found a more pleasant or caring environment for my lovely husband, who deserves the best. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone at Lonsdale Mews.
Thank you very much for taking the time to leave us feedback about your experience of Lonsdale Mews. We are delighted to hear your very complimentary praise about all aspects of the home, and we are pleased that you feel reassured of your decision. We set ourselves a high standard at Lonsdale Mews,...
Like anyone involved in the care of a loved one with dementia it is difficult to find the right place as round-the-clock care becomes necessary. From the moment my aunt stepped into Longsdale Mews any doubts were erased. The care and attention to help her make this huge transition has been wonderful. We were able to personalise her room before she moved in and on that first night when we sat on her bed with a lovely cup of tea and one wonderful member of staff in particular, who was just so kind, it absolutely felt the right decision. The absolute attention to detail in terms of the decor is just beautiful and the activities provided each day are incredible. Without exception the staff are just the most caring and positive people who appear to really love this incredibly important work they are doing. This is a place where despite the great challenges in life (there are many!) there still remains much living to enjoy!
We are pleased that the transition for your aunt moving to us has been good and that she has settled in so well.
We are delighted to receive your very complimentary comments about...
Both Mum and Dad stayed for a couple of years, and we were very happy. The facility is excellent, the cleanliness and the quality of food are really good, but most of all, the staff were just so caring and sensitive. They were constantly trying to involve them in the numerous activities that were going on. The garden was a popular location. Towards the end, the staff were brilliant and really helped my wife and me through those final stages for both Mum and Dad. If I have to end my days in a home, I hope it's as good as Longsdale.
We set ourselves a high standard, so we are pleased to hear that you were happy with the care and support that the teams provided for your parents, together with your complimentary comments about the...

Meet the Team (1)

I’m a Registered Mental Health Nurse and was a Dementia and Safeguarding Lead in a nursing home before I joined the Lonsdale Mews team. As a brand new home, Lonsdale Mews looked like an incredible place to work, and it offered exciting new opportunities.
Working with older people is incredibly rewarding, and my favourite part of the day is spending time with residents and their families, getting to know them. We’re a big home team, so it’s good to take time to get to know colleagues better, too.
While being adept at all things care-related is vital in this role, it’s also important to have strong communication and people skills. What we do is all about people, so I always aim to be approachable, open and fair.
When I’m not at work I enjoy going to music concerts and the cinema. I also love my holidays!
