I visited Lonsdale Mews on the occasion of my Aunty' 100th birthday. As a Registered Nurse I am familiar with what to look for in a care home, and this home didn't disappoint!! It was clean, no odours and the staff we saw on the day treated those who live there with dignity and respect. You could tell that the staff were passionate about the job they do. All the residents looked at home which is important as it is their home. I cannot recommend this home highly enough. Thank you to the staff that make our loved one's lives enriched, you are amazing.

My elderly mum recently spent 3 weeks in respite care at Lonsdale Mews. This care home is unlike any others that I have visited because it doesn't smell or feel like one. It feels like a home and not at all clinical. From the very first phonecall to the home I spoke to people who evidently cared for me as the daughter of an unwell mum as well as my mum. The manager was particularly helpful, caring and professional before and during my mum's stay. My mum received good quality care while she recovered from an infection, throughout the day and night. The chef very kindly made food to meet her dietary requirements. I was impressed with the number of activities and events available for residents to attend throughout each day, the well stocked self service cafe and the main garden which was beautiful with plenty of seating. Mum's room was nicely furnished and it was great that she had her own shower room. I would definitely recommend this care home.

Mum had such a lovely respite stay at Lonsdale Mews, which meant we could relax and have a break knowing she was being well looked after means the world to us. Mum room was perfect and with an en suite she even had flowers and chocolate in her room on arrival which was a lovely touch. The care staff took time to get to know Mum before she stayed and we loved the attention to detail, even over small but meaningful things which made it much more personal. We would definitely recommend it to others and will using it again in the short term but would consider it as a forever home for Mum if we need too.

Mum came to Lonsdale Mews just over a 3 years ago. We checked many homes for mum, but Lonsdale was easily the best. There are activities planned for every day, supported by 4 lifestyle coordinators, which is key to keeping my mum energised, engaged and happy. Lonsdale is a modern, clean, spacious, very well-equipped home that is user-friendly and secure. The food choice and variety is excellent and always cooked and presented to the highest standards. Importantly Lonsdale is dog-friendly, so mum gets to see her dog most days. However, the absolute highlight is the professional, attentive, respectful and caring team that looks after my mum. Everyone cares, goes the extra mile and nothing is too much trouble. My final observation is that after being out with my mum when I bring her back to Lonsdale Mews, I am returning her to a comfortable, safe environment where she is treated like a VIP and receives the best possible care from a fantastic team or people who really care. Thank you.

The team at Lonsdale cared for my mother for 17months. Over that period their commitment & compassion never wavered. Excellent facilities, imaginative social activities, dedicated staff & always a friendly welcome. definitely recommend.

My mother was a resident at Lonsdale Mews for 18 months. The care home is excellent - particularly the care given by the staff. The accommodation and facilities are maintained to a very high standard. I was most impressed by the range of activities provided, by the "lifestyle" team. I was so impressed that I continue to volunteer at the home after my mother passed away.

The staff are friendly and services are excellent. My grandma is very happy there and in particular loves to get involved with all the activities - it's lovely to see her so proud of the arts and crafts she creates. Many thanks.

My mother in law moved to Lonsdale Mews last year, initially for a 2 week stay which then turned into a permanent residency. She was very anxious, withdrawn and underweight when she arrived but the care and attention she has received in the last 6 months has brought about an amazing transformation. She has put on weight, has made lots of friends and is participating in lots of the activities and trips out. The staff are always on hand and are extremely caring and skilled in looking after her physical and emotional wellbeing. There is always a lovely atmosphere in the home and lots going on and I can't recommend Lonsdale Mews highly enough.

After the death of our father, my mother wanted to stay in the family home. She stayed for almost two years with visits from a local home care agency. Unfortunately losing Dad had caused a noticeable deterioration in Mum's confidence and ability to cope. Her health began to suffer, she became anxious, lost weight and the situation became very worrying. My sister and I made the decision to bring Mum closer to us and approached Lonsdale Mews care home in December 2024 . Mum was offered a place, initially for a short period to see if she liked it and decided to stay permanently. The care Mum has received has been second to none. She has made new friends, the friendly staff are building Mum's confidence back up and she's been encouraged and now enjoying many of the activities Lonsdale provides. The result of our decision has seen a remarkable improvement in Mum's health and happiness. Our family would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff at Lonsdale for their support.

The whole team at Lonsdale have been welcoming and kind since Dads arrival in July 2021. The Beacon team are attentive and friendly and nothing is too much trouble (ensuring utmost dignity and care) especially when dealing with Dad's ongoing needs as he ages. We have been kept informed of every change in his health and the team leaders are excellent at liaising with the local surgery. Their rapport with Dad and family members is very appreciated and the support offered to families is exceptional. Other members of staff should not be forgotten: kitchen, housekeeping and admin are also integral to life at Lonsdale, chatting and joining in the many social events, giving the feeling of "family" and that residents are not forgotten at the end of their shifts. The lifestyle team are amazing at arranging events, talks, trips and birthday parties. The home is beautifully decorated, retaining a comfortable, exceptionally clean and welcoming atmosphere. I would highly recommend.

The word that comes to mind when I think of Lonsdale Mews is kindness. The staff go out of their way to offer support to the residents - whether this relates to activities of daily living, entertainment or just making time for a chat. When visiting my relative, I am made to feel very welcome too. Activities are arranged to meet the interests of the residents - yet there is also the opportunity for quiet time if this is preferred. The premises are spotless and the gardens well maintained. Food is well presented and the menu is varied.

Lonsdale Mews provides a warm, compassionate, and outstanding place for residents and their families. All staff are kind, friendly, respectful, and consistently demonstrate genuine care and compassion. They take time to know each resident well, creating strong, trusting relationships making a real difference in daily life. The rooms are clean, cozy, and warm, personalized to reflect each resident's preferences, helping them feel right at home. Residents are encouraged to interact, talk, & share together, supported by staff who add to a sense of community. Social\recreational programs are meaningful & inclusive, residents are often invited to collaborate/share ideas. Activities include outings and engagement with the community, keeping life vibrant/connected. Meal times have choices to suit every preference and diet. Families are always greeted warmly/supported. Exceptional!

I have visited the home many times in the last 6 months since a relative was initially placed here. I have found the home extremely welcoming, caring and all staff are completely competent at tending to the needs of every resident. There is a very positive buzz around the home and this is helped by an array of inclusive activities provided for the residents and their families and friends. My relative has quite complex needs and staff are very patient and thorough as they go about their daily tasks. The inside and outside areas are very attractive and welcoming with easy access for all. I have got to know quite a few residents and they always seem happy in their environment. Staff always know me and acknowledge my presence every time I visit. Thank you for making my relative's life so much more comfortable. Nothing is too much trouble!

Since my grandfather went into Lonsdale Mews last November he has been well cared for, the staff are amazing and it's reassuring to know he's being well looked after. They run lots of activities and the place is always clean and well managed

Since my first visit to Lonsdale Mews back in September 2022, my admiration for this care home has only deepened. Each time I visit my Grandma, I'm struck again by how clean, beautifully kept, and welcoming the entire home is. The staff continue to amaze with their dedication and compassion. They work incredibly hard every day, and it shows in everything they do - from the personal care they provide to the engaging activities they organise for the residents. Since my Grandma moved to Lonsdale Mews, we've seen a remarkable transformation in her. Where she once was fading due to the effects of dementia, she's now thriving. Her days are filled with laughter, music, and comfort - and it's clear that the uplifting environment and outstanding care have truly extended not just her life, but the quality of it too. She feels safe, happy and completely at home.

Mum has been a resident at Lonsdale Mews for over four years and we are always impressed by the high standard of care that mum receives. She recently celebrated her birthday and the catering team created a fantastic birthday cake for her and the care staff laid on a brilliant birthday party complete with balloons and banners. All the staff, including managers, carers, the admin team, housekeeping and caretakers, are very person-centred and compassionate. A big thank you also to the Lifestyle Team who lay on an amazing range of activities each month and always encourage mum to take part. Mum is very happy at Lonsdale Mews and I know that her quality of life is so much better than when she was living alone. Highly recommended.

My father had been a resident at Longsdale Mews for 2 years & always had great care. In Feb 2025 my father's health declined. He unfortunately passed away on March 15th 2025. The carers went above & beyond during dads last weeks. I can not thank them enough for keeping him comfortable, clean & pain free. They came in on days off & never left him alone. I will be forever grateful for this exceptional care.

I cannot praise Lonsdale Mews highly enough. The staff are just wonderful. They really care about the Residents and will do everything in their power to make them feel settled and cared for. The whole process of moving my mum into the care home has been seamless. The facilities are great and we especially enjoy have a cuppa together in the cafe. The activities staff add an extra special element, meaning that mum has made friends quickly and is never short of something to do.

My wife had two weeks respite dementia care at Lonsdale Mews while I had an operation. I was very impressed by the facilities and staff and I think when it was time to return home my wife might have preferred to stay.
