I cannot rate Lonsdale Mews highly enough!
Every single staff member my Mother and I had contact with was both professional and extremely empathetic, which is not a very easy combination.
The level of care received was outstanding and the time and effort the staff put into keeping the residents entertained
is second to none.

I cannot praise Lonsdale Mews enough. It goes way beyond what we thought a care home would be. The facilities, food and activities are excellent and the care and support provided are second to none. The staff are keen to facilitate an interesting and happy environment, but if you just want to chill
you can do that too. Whenever we visit we feel that the staff know our friend and are doing all they can to look after her, and they are keen to get to know us too and look after us. The management are welcoming and helpful, and the staff are friendly and good fun and above all, kind. They genuinely seem to care about the residents and more than one of them has told me how much they love their job. A lovely place to work and live, safe and happy for everyone.

Dad (93) went to Lonsdale to give Mum (91) 2 weeks of respite. Right from the lady on reception to the team on Beacon Dad received an excellent level of care, he enjoyed a day out on the local canal and also entered into the Olympic celebrations in the lovely gardens. Nice to see a smile on his face
and overall we were very satisfied with the level of care.

My sister and I booked Mum in for a respite stay at Lonsdale. We are so pleased with all aspects of the care she is receiving. Everyone is so kind and caring at the home and there is a lovely warm, welcoming, cheerful atmosphere there all the time whether for residents or visitors. All the staff go
above and beyond getting to know the residents and their requirements and they are made to feel special. There is always something interesting happening each day too if she wishes to join in. Alternatively, there are areas to sit quietly, the garden is beautiful. We have noticed a real improvement in Mum. She is calm relaxed and happy which is lovely to see.

Dad has been a resident since last November and has been looked after superbly by the staff at Lonsdale Mews. The home is bright and cheerful at all times with a raft of activities going on every day. All of Dad's needs are being catered for on a daily basis and he loves his carers. He gets plenty of
society and has made more friends in the home than he has for years and always says how wonderful everyone is. Whenever we are visiting there is always a stream of carers coming in and out to deliver his needs and he is very happy. Lonsdale is a very special place and we feel very lucky that Dad is a resident.

Dad had 10 days of respite in this beautiful home. The staff were all amazing they couldn't do enough for Dad on a daily basis with lots of activities if he wanted to participate.
The relationship manager was fantastic, when we visited to see if this was the right place for Dad she had so much time
and care to explain everything with a lovely smile.
On Dad's admission day, all the staff made an effort to make Dad welcome by popping in to see him, nothing was too much trouble with fresh fruit and treats.
It was also lovely to get pictures of Dad throughout the ten days doing activities.
We thank you very much to the relationship manager and the team for making Dad's stay special.

My mum was here for 8 months when she could no longer cope at home. She was happy here and considered it her home. The staff are caring, the home is bright, clean and modern. There is always something going on from craft mornings to day trips and as a family member, I was always made welcome.

My 84-year-old Dad was welcomed with open arms and total compassion by all of the staff when we decided that some respite care at Lonsdale Mews Care Home was the best next step during the period of his dementia diagnosis.
Following his diagnosis of Rapid Advancing Mixed Dementia with Parkinson's, his
stay became permanent. As his care needs increased, the team were with him every step of the way. Always with a smile, total respect, no fuss, complete professionalism, kindness and love.
His family and many visitors were all made to feel extremely welcome and cared for too. Nothing was too much trouble. My young sons were treated to ice creams and tea and cakes were always available.
The facilities are excellent. Clean, purpose-designed and built, all to a very high standard. Many of Dad's visitors who have visited other care homes commented that Lonsdale Mews was the best they'd been to.
The communication with Dad's carers was great too - always contactable and reassuring.

Lonsdale Mews is a care home that makes everyone feel very welcome. Whether you're a resident or a visitor. Our father became a resident, and the care and attention he received from all the staff was outstanding. He was treated with the utmost respect and dignity. The staff are so kind and helpful.
Nothing was too much trouble. His health improved immeasurably due to the care he received. As a visitor, the home was your home.

My father became a resident at Lonsdale Mews after a fall at home and a spell in hospital, which is traumatic for anyone, but for an older person even more so. From the minute we got there, he was made to feel welcome, and valued. Everyone went the extra mile, even the chef came and introduced herself,
and was keen to find out his likes and dislikes. Dad's health and mobility improved remarkably, with the care, encouragement and stimulation he received, and as a family we felt reassured he was in the right place.

This is a wonderful home run by amazing staff and carers who genuinely care about their residents. There is a strong family feel - relatives are warmly welcomed and are on first-name terms with staff. Mum has been at Lonsdale Mews for two years now and we are delighted with the care she receives. There
is an exciting programme of activities, including entertainers visiting the home and a choice of trips out in the minibus. Residents are encouraged to suggest new activities they might like to try and staff do their utmost to make these wishes happen. Having tried another care home in the area, we can honestly say Mum's move to Lonsdale was the best thing she could have done. She is very happy here.

Lonsdale Mews has been an ideal home for my mum. She has been at the home for two years now and is very well looked after, cared for and entertained by the very skilled and caring staff at the home. The added benefit for me is knowing that my mum is always safe and well looked after. The staff on her
suite are very proactive in contacting me if there are any issues or concerns.

My 93 year old mother has now been a been a resident of Lonsdale Mews for over two years. The staff are brilliant and the level of care is excellent. There is always things going on, it is clean and tidy. It is the little things like no empty cups and saucers abandoned that make it a lovely place for
her to live. I have every confidence my mother is in safe hands.

This is a lovely care home, staff are so caring and kind, always willing to help, always cheerful and treat my mum with love and respect. There are outings which cater for all needs, daily activities which relatives and visitors can join in with. The facilities and cleanliness are outstanding as is
the food. The cafe is warm and welcoming with lovely refreshments. My mum is happy and that’s what is most important.

My mother has received excellent care during her stay the past two years. The staff are outstanding, really friendly and kind. The activities put on each day are really well received by the residents and they even look to grant the wishes of everyone by arranging bespoke trips and events on request.

My Aunt is very well cared for. All members of staff are very friendly and are always willing to help if there is an issue. There are activities every day for the residents to join in with. The gardens are really nice and welcoming, good for the residents to be able to get some fresh air when the weather
permits.

Lonsdale is a pleasant, well-run brand new care home that gives residents a relaxing and safe environment with excellent friendly care staff. It also runs a wide choice of activities that residents can participate in if they so wish. The central garden is a gem. The rooms are state of the art and the
care level is seamlessly adjusted according to need. The location of Lonsdale is also conveniently just off the A6.

The staff are amazing with both my mum, who has lived there for 2 years, and with my sister and myself, who visit regularly. I would happily recommend it to anyone looking for
a care home for their loved one/s or themselves.

Jo Davison

Job Title: Home Manager

I’m a Registered Mental Health Nurse and was a Dementia and Safeguarding Lead in a nursing home before I joined the Lonsdale Mews team. As a brand new home, Lonsdale Mews looked like an incredible place to work, and it offered exciting new opportunities. 


Working with older people is incredibly rewarding, and my favourite part of the day is spending time with residents and their families, getting to know them. We’re a big home team, so it’s good to take time to get to know colleagues better, too. 


While being adept at all things care-related is vital in this role, it’s also important to have strong communication and people skills. What we do is all about people, so I always aim to be approachable, open and fair. 


When I’m not at work I enjoy going to music concerts and the cinema. I also love my holidays!
