I highly recommend Lonsdale Mews Care Home; it is a happy Care Home staffed with wonderful people who make all the difference. The staff are always aware if Mum is under the weather, and they go the extra mile to minimise upset or discomfort. Her room and en-suite are always warm and clean, and the
food offerings are better than I have at home. Medication is always spot-on, and the Entertainment Team do an amazing job. The Café is a light filled social space that is always humming. Security is good, something that used to worry my Mum but no longer does. My Mum has been there now for over two years, and we have never experienced a problem. As my sister and I visit Mum several times every week, that really says something .

It is a very safe and friendly environment and the staff members always make time to touch base when I visit even when clearly very busy. They are happy and smiley and so patient with the residents. If there is a health or welfare issue with my aunt they inform me immediately. The range of activities
which are put on weekly are fantastic and it is great that best efforts are always made to encourage participation.

My mum moved into Lonsdale Mews more than 2 years ago as she was struggling to live alone due to her declining mobility. She remains sharp in her mind but struggles to get around independently. The staff and facilities at Lonsdale Mews are excellent and my mum continues to feel very much at home there.
We are very grateful for all the support she has received from staff and how welcoming the whole team has been. I can highly recommend the home to others.

My mum moved to Lonsdale 4 weeks ago.
Mum has settled in well and seems very happy in her new environment. The support and help of staff has been much appreciated. We all enjoy the friendly, warm and welcoming environment created by happy staff. The activities and daily variety help to keep Mum socially

My Mum has been a resident at Lonsdale Mews for just over 2 years now. I'm certain her life has been extended from moving her from the previous care home, by the care she has received here. Mum has blossomed during this time and is always happy and smiling when we visit her. The staff are great and
are always in touch if there are any health issues that arise with Mum. She loves to get involved with many of the activities provided by the dedicated activities team. The care home often goes the extra mile and we as a family will always be grateful for looking after my Dad last Christmas. So he could be close to Mum. I would thoroughly recommend Lonsdale Mews as an excellent care home for anyone's relatives.

Lonsdale Mews is unquestionably an exceptional care home.
It is such a great asset for the local village and the surrounding areas and a wonderful facility on our doorstep.
My mum has been at Lonsdale for just over two years and has flourished with the remarkable care she has received.
The manager
is outstanding and is supported by a fantastic team, with their professionalism, understanding, patience, and genuine care makes this a very special place to be.
My mum has just had her 100th birthday and the effort that went into making her day so memorable was beyond our expectations. There was an organised garden carnival on the beautiful grounds and we had a seating area with huge pink balloons and my Mum was presented with 3 large homemade chocolate cakes that made the number 100, a bouquet of flowers and a very large bar of chocolate! All this happened because the home cares about every individual and nothing gets overlooked in providing such care, kindness, happiness and memories for everyone.

I really cannot rate Lonsdale Mews highly enough. Before my friend became a resident here one of the staff went out of her way, along with the rest of her team, to show us around and chat with us and let us know that it wasn't just a 'care home', but a 'home'.
From day one the care was exceptional,
nothing was too much trouble for them, and the level of standard at all times was excellent.
Thank you everyone at Lonsdale Mews for all that you are doing, you have totally changed my perspective of care homes.

Having visited many care homes, we chose Lonsdale Mews.
The welcome makes a comforting environment. Looking around, residents seem engaged and enjoying the experience.
It has a lot to offer for those who especially are active, either socially or craft-wise.

I cannot rate Lonsdale Mews highly enough!
Every single staff member my Mother and I had contact with was both professional and extremely empathetic, which is not a very easy combination.
The level of care received was outstanding and the time and effort the staff put into keeping the residents entertained

I cannot praise Lonsdale Mews enough. It goes way beyond what we thought a care home would be. The facilities, food and activities are excellent and the care and support provided are second to none. The staff are keen to facilitate an interesting and happy environment, but if you just want to chill
you can do that too. Whenever we visit we feel that the staff know our friend and are doing all they can to look after her, and they are keen to get to know us too and look after us. The management are welcoming and helpful, and the staff are friendly and good fun and above all, kind. They genuinely seem to care about the residents and more than one of them has told me how much they love their job. A lovely place to work and live, safe and happy for everyone.

Dad (93) went to Lonsdale to give Mum (91) 2 weeks of respite. Right from the lady on reception to the team on Beacon Dad received an excellent level of care, he enjoyed a day out on the local canal and also entered into the Olympic celebrations in the lovely gardens. Nice to see a smile on his face
and overall we were very satisfied with the level of care.

My sister and I booked Mum in for a respite stay at Lonsdale. We are so pleased with all aspects of the care she is receiving. Everyone is so kind and caring at the home and there is a lovely warm, welcoming, cheerful atmosphere there all the time whether for residents or visitors. All the staff go
above and beyond getting to know the residents and their requirements and they are made to feel special. There is always something interesting happening each day too if she wishes to join in. Alternatively, there are areas to sit quietly, the garden is beautiful. We have noticed a real improvement in Mum. She is calm relaxed and happy which is lovely to see.

Dad has been a resident since last November and has been looked after superbly by the staff at Lonsdale Mews. The home is bright and cheerful at all times with a raft of activities going on every day. All of Dad's needs are being catered for on a daily basis and he loves his carers. He gets plenty of
society and has made more friends in the home than he has for years and always says how wonderful everyone is. Whenever we are visiting there is always a stream of carers coming in and out to deliver his needs and he is very happy. Lonsdale is a very special place and we feel very lucky that Dad is a resident.

Dad had 10 days of respite in this beautiful home. The staff were all amazing they couldn't do enough for Dad on a daily basis with lots of activities if he wanted to participate.
The relationship manager was fantastic, when we visited to see if this was the right place for Dad she had so much time
and care to explain everything with a lovely smile.
On Dad's admission day, all the staff made an effort to make Dad welcome by popping in to see him, nothing was too much trouble with fresh fruit and treats.
It was also lovely to get pictures of Dad throughout the ten days doing activities.
We thank you very much to the relationship manager and the team for making Dad's stay special.

Jo Davison

Job Title: Home Manager

I’m a Registered Mental Health Nurse and was a Dementia and Safeguarding Lead in a nursing home before I joined the Lonsdale Mews team. As a brand new home, Lonsdale Mews looked like an incredible place to work, and it offered exciting new opportunities. 


Working with older people is incredibly rewarding, and my favourite part of the day is spending time with residents and their families, getting to know them. We’re a big home team, so it’s good to take time to get to know colleagues better, too. 


While being adept at all things care-related is vital in this role, it’s also important to have strong communication and people skills. What we do is all about people, so I always aim to be approachable, open and fair. 


When I’m not at work I enjoy going to music concerts and the cinema. I also love my holidays!
