I have visited the home many times in the last 6 months since a relative was initially placed here.
I have found the home extremely welcoming, caring and all staff are completely competent at tending to the needs of every resident.
There is a very positive buzz around the home and this is helped by
an array of inclusive activities provided for the residents and their families and friends.
My relative has quite complex needs and staff are very patient and thorough as they go about their daily tasks.
The inside and outside areas are very attractive and welcoming with easy access for all.
I have got to know quite a few residents and they always seem happy in their environment. Staff always know me and acknowledge my presence every time I visit.
Thank you for making my relative's life so much more comfortable. Nothing is too much trouble!

Since my grandfather went into Lonsdale Mews last November he has been well cared for, the staff are amazing and it's reassuring to know he's being well looked after. They run lots of activities and the place is always clean and well managed

Since my first visit to Lonsdale Mews back in September 2022, my admiration for this care home has only deepened. Each time I visit my Grandma, I'm struck again by how clean, beautifully kept, and welcoming the entire home is. The staff continue to amaze with their dedication and compassion. They work
incredibly hard every day, and it shows in everything they do - from the personal care they provide to the engaging activities they organise for the residents.
Since my Grandma moved to Lonsdale Mews, we've seen a remarkable transformation in her. Where she once was fading due to the effects of dementia, she's now thriving. Her days are filled with laughter, music, and comfort - and it's clear that the uplifting environment and outstanding care have truly extended not just her life, but the quality of it too. She feels safe, happy and completely at home.

Mum has been a resident at Lonsdale Mews for over four years and we are always impressed by the high standard of care that mum receives. She recently celebrated her birthday and the catering team created a fantastic birthday cake for her and the care staff laid on a brilliant birthday party complete
with balloons and banners. All the staff, including managers, carers, the admin team, housekeeping and caretakers, are very person-centred and compassionate. A big thank you also to the Lifestyle Team who lay on an amazing range of activities each month and always encourage mum to take part. Mum is very happy at Lonsdale Mews and I know that her quality of life is so much better than when she was living alone. Highly recommended.

My father had been a resident at Longsdale Mews for 2 years & always had great care. In Feb 2025 my father's health declined. He unfortunately passed away on March 15th 2025. The carers went above & beyond during dads last weeks. I can not thank them enough for keeping him comfortable, clean & pain
free. They came in on days off & never left him alone. I will be forever grateful for this exceptional care.

I cannot praise Lonsdale Mews highly enough. The staff are just wonderful. They really care about the Residents and will do everything in their power to make them feel settled and cared for.
The whole process of moving my mum into the care home has been seamless. The facilities are great and we especially
enjoy have a cuppa together in the cafe.
The activities staff add an extra special element, meaning that mum has made friends quickly and is never short of something to do.

My wife had two weeks respite dementia care at Lonsdale Mews while I had an operation. I was very impressed by the facilities and staff and I think when it was time to return home my wife might have preferred to stay.

I highly recommend Lonsdale Mews Care Home; it is a happy Care Home staffed with wonderful people who make all the difference. The staff are always aware if Mum is under the weather, and they go the extra mile to minimise upset or discomfort. Her room and en-suite are always warm and clean, and the
food offerings are better than I have at home. Medication is always spot-on, and the Entertainment Team do an amazing job. The Café is a light filled social space that is always humming. Security is good, something that used to worry my Mum but no longer does. My Mum has been there now for over two years, and we have never experienced a problem. As my sister and I visit Mum several times every week, that really says something .

So happy to have found this wonderful care home, where I'm secure in the knowledge that my mum is in a safe place and being cared for by wonderful, dedicated staff. It is a very safe and friendly environment and the staff members always make time to touch base when I visit even when clearly very busy. They are happy and smiley and so patient with the residents. If there is a health or welfare issue with my aunt they inform me immediately. The range of activities
which are put on weekly are fantastic and it is great that best efforts are always made to encourage participation.

My mum moved into Lonsdale Mews more than 2 years ago as she was struggling to live alone due to her declining mobility. She remains sharp in her mind but struggles to get around independently. The staff and facilities at Lonsdale Mews are excellent and my mum continues to feel very much at home there.
We are very grateful for all the support she has received from staff and how welcoming the whole team has been. I can highly recommend the home to others.

My mum moved to Lonsdale 4 weeks ago.
Mum has settled in well and seems very happy in her new environment. The support and help of staff has been much appreciated. We all enjoy the friendly, warm and welcoming environment created by happy staff. The activities and daily variety help to keep Mum socially
active and stimulated. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Lonsdale.

My Mum has been a resident at Lonsdale Mews for just over 2 years now. I'm certain her life has been extended from moving her from the previous care home, by the care she has received here. Mum has blossomed during this time and is always happy and smiling when we visit her. The staff are great and
are always in touch if there are any health issues that arise with Mum. She loves to get involved with many of the activities provided by the dedicated activities team. The care home often goes the extra mile and we as a family will always be grateful for looking after my Dad last Christmas. So he could be close to Mum. I would thoroughly recommend Lonsdale Mews as an excellent care home for anyone's relatives.

Lonsdale Mews is unquestionably an exceptional care home.
It is such a great asset for the local village and the surrounding areas and a wonderful facility on our doorstep.
My mum has been at Lonsdale for just over two years and has flourished with the remarkable care she has received.
The manager
is outstanding and is supported by a fantastic team, with their professionalism, understanding, patience, and genuine care makes this a very special place to be.
My mum has just had her 100th birthday and the effort that went into making her day so memorable was beyond our expectations. There was an organised garden carnival on the beautiful grounds and we had a seating area with huge pink balloons and my Mum was presented with 3 large homemade chocolate cakes that made the number 100, a bouquet of flowers and a very large bar of chocolate! All this happened because the home cares about every individual and nothing gets overlooked in providing such care, kindness, happiness and memories for everyone.

I really cannot rate Lonsdale Mews highly enough. Before my friend became a resident here one of the staff went out of her way, along with the rest of her team, to show us around and chat with us and let us know that it wasn't just a 'care home', but a 'home'.
From day one the care was exceptional,
nothing was too much trouble for them, and the level of standard at all times was excellent.
Thank you everyone at Lonsdale Mews for all that you are doing, you have totally changed my perspective of care homes.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Having visited many care homes, we chose Lonsdale Mews.
The welcome makes a comforting environment. Looking around, residents seem engaged and enjoying the experience.
It has a lot to offer for those who especially are active, either socially or craft-wise.
The staff are interested in the residents
and show a caring nature.
Nothing seems too much trouble and staff show a professional manner.

Jo Davison

Job Title: Home Manager

I’m a Registered Mental Health Nurse and was a Dementia and Safeguarding Lead in a nursing home before I joined the Lonsdale Mews team. As a brand new home, Lonsdale Mews looked like an incredible place to work, and it offered exciting new opportunities. 


Working with older people is incredibly rewarding, and my favourite part of the day is spending time with residents and their families, getting to know them. We’re a big home team, so it’s good to take time to get to know colleagues better, too. 


While being adept at all things care-related is vital in this role, it’s also important to have strong communication and people skills. What we do is all about people, so I always aim to be approachable, open and fair. 


When I’m not at work I enjoy going to music concerts and the cinema. I also love my holidays!
