The staff were always polite & very helpful to my husband & myself & trying to persuade him to take part in any activities not always successful. Trying to encourage to eat when he said no , my husband was Stubborn man & everyone knew that, so sometimes it was hard to care for him.

My Mum was happy in Colne View. She was there for 11 years. The staff were wonderful and took great care of her over the years. They knew her well and also knew us, her family. We always felt very welcome. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Colne View to anyone.

Mum remarked today how lovely the dinner was, which a staff member had prepared. She doesn't have a great appetite so I was pleased to hear her say she had eaten most of her dinner.
The staff here are lovely, so kind and caring. The home is always spotlessly clean. We are blessed to have been recommended

I looked round Manor Lodge care home as I needed a weeks respite care after having a hip replacement and I was not disappointed. The management are friendly and enthusiastic, which instills confidence and they "deliver the goods", as it were. The care and support I received was absolutely amazing.
The care assistants are fun, caring, patient, so easy to talk to, nothing is too much trouble and they helped me as much or as little as I needed.
The food is wonderful, delicious and portions were tailored to my needs, especially as I went "off piste" with the menu, the chef and assistants were extremely accommodating. My bedroom was large as was my en-suite, so I didn't feel "hemmed in" at all, as I do tend to spread my stuff around. Everywhere was really clean and well tended, the garden areas are lovely, with several different areas and there is a couple of coffee machines, which is useful.
There's plenty of space to walk around inside and out and I felt safe everywhere.

Silversprings

Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Mum was diagnosed with mixed dementia approx 5 years ago and living at home with carers coming in four times daily. After a fall at home and being admitted into hospital with broken shoulder, myself and siblings decided it was no longer an option to remain at home. Mum moved into Silversprings December
2024. Apart from the amount of pressure and anxiety taken from family, mum now has a life, engaging all day with others, activities to keep her occupied. Mum is well looked after, nutritional needs taken care of and living her best life. The care and kindness at Silversprings is second to none.

My mum moved to Colne View when the effects of dementia stopped her living independently. She lived here happily for 11 years until she passed away 2 weeks ago. The staff are always very welcoming, kind and helpful and the care, love and respect my Mum was treated with over those years was excellent.

My husband was transferred to Tall Trees at the beginning of June and the care he has received has been of the highest standard. He especially likes the food which is of excellent quality and freshly prepared every day. Everyone works together to provide a relaxed environment and the garden is a special
place that we try to go to every day. We recently attended a quiz night which was very well run and great fun

Manor Lodge

After completing a lot of research I decided to book my father into Manor Lodge for a respite period. My father is 93 years old and has dementia. He still retains a great sense of humour and passion for life but can get confused. The break gave my partner and I an opportunity for some rest and a break
from the care we provide every day. I thought it might be a difficult period for my father but he returned home with a big smile on his face and said how much he had enjoyed his stay in 'the hotel'. I would like to thank all the staff at Manor Lodge for their good work and for making Dad's stay an enjoyable one. It has been a blessing for all of us and it was money well spent. The facilities were extremely clean and whenever I visited the clients were obviously enjoying their experience. There was laughter and singing and good food. I am sure my Dad will be happy to return in the future and I can rest assured that he will be cared for and supported well. Thank you for all you do.

Reply from Karla Smith, Reviews Team at Manor Lodge

Thank you so much for your heartfelt review. It means the world to us to know that your father enjoyed his stay and returned home smiling. We're truly glad we could provide him with a positive experience and give you both some well-deserved rest. Your kind words about the colleagues, atmosphere, and care are deeply appreciated, and we look forward to welcoming him back in the future.

Most of the staff are really friendly, and happy, I know my mum is in a safe place, but sometimes I've been to see her and she's still in her night clothes, I know she can be stubborn, and try,s to dress herself, but I think they can at least help her or make sure she is dressed, some of the food is
not to her taste, but not to bad.

I visited my dear friend for the first time since she took up residence last month. Many reviews on here have praised the home and I would agree completely. I enjoyed the visit and very much looking forward to the next when I can take my little dog in to sit with my friend whilst we listen to the radio.
I am totally reassured that she lives in a kind and caring community. Many thanks for your hard work

Mum continues to receive wonderful care here, looked after by hardworking, emphatic, kind and compassionate staff or our Silversprings family as we like to call them. The home itself is always clean, tidy, safe and welcoming and mum particularly likes the gardens when the weather allows. Dad still praises
the restaurant level food and really appreciates being able to dine with mum on a daily basis. Mum enjoys the entertainment on offer and loves the four legged friends and young children who visit on a regular basis. We feel very lucky that mum is able to call Silversprings home.

I went to visit Silversprings with the possibility of my Mum moving there to be closer to me. From the moment I walked in and was met by customer relations advisor I knew Mum would hugely benefit from living there. Staff were exceptionally friendly & professional and the home felt it had " soul". Mum
was lucky enough to move in 4 weeks later and has not looked back! She has settled in really well and has enjoyed making new friends. All aspects of her care has been excellent. The manager and all staff including maintenance team are always available and approachable for any questions/ queries. I would not hesitate to recommend Silversprings, they have truly gone above and beyond to ensure Mum feels " at home" .

Manor Lodge

from Stuart M (Grandson of Resident) published on 9 July 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

We cannot thank Manor Lodge staff enough for everything they did to care for our gran, Iris, who came into their care in April 2020. Everyone without exception has been so kind and considerate. During her time at Manor Lodge staff really looked after gran, and us as her immediate family. She received
the very highest standard of care and was very happy here. It was a very challenging period at the start of covid when gran took up residence here but staff made the transition work smoothly and went the extra mile to make gran feel at home and safe. We have such happy memories of many visits and time spent with gran. In fact, the staff became part of her family. Their care and love for her was genuine and heartfelt and she was treated with dignity and respect. This continued when gran sadly became ill and passed away. She was given a guard of honour by staff on duty who paid their respects, which was very touching. We feel so lucky she was a resident here for so long. Thank you!

Absolutely disgusting company, I've been blocked from their social media page, comments and truth about the care and on Friday 23rd of May, manager called to say that my father will not be coming back to the home, sending him into hospital with one, one pair of clothes knowing he wouldn't be coming
back, no letter of notice, (28 days) written notice! Wheelchair broken, no manual handling being used in the home.
