Review of Manor Lodge from Helen P (Daughter of Resident) published on 20 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My mum initially came to Manor Lodge for a 2 week respite stay but has since become a permanent resident. From our first visit, we were impressed by the welcoming atmosphere, cleanliness, and absence of any unpleasant smells. The staff were friendly and approachable, and the coffee and cake area for visitors is a lovely feature.
Mum settled into her well-equipped room, which has more of a hotel feel than a traditional care home. Staff made every effort to introduce her to other residents and help her feel part of the community, joining in with the entertainment, which she enjoys.
Mum has specific dietary requirements, and after discussing these with the team, her needs have been accommodated very well.

The carers are kind, caring, and professional. Nothing ever seems too much trouble, and it is clear they genuinely care about the residents' wellbeing. The manager, is friendly and knowledgeable about the care system which really helps as its new to us. So pleased we picked this home!

Overall Experience
My Dad has been at Manor Lodge for 5 weeks now following a fall at home. My dad needed to have 24/7 monitoring as he kept forgetting his walking abilities were limited. Manor Lodge was the only care home that could provide this type of care.
Everyone is very friendly from the initial show round until admission, as you know putting a loved one into care is not an easy decision, but from the care and professionalism of all the staff I made the right choice.
Your kept up to date with any concerns and dad is monitored all the time.
There is a range of activities, a hairdresser and chiropodist.

Dad also has pressure mats either side of the bed to alert staff, which are a good idea.

Review of Silversprings from Joan E (Wife of Resident) published on 9 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Having viewed a number of Care Homes, as soon as we (myself and two members of my husband's family) set foot into the Reception Area of Silver Springs we thought "this is it". The light, the space, the welcome and overall feel of Silver Springs was so comforting. My husband has a lovely room with double doors which open onto a green space with a view of trees and a feeling of peace and quiet.. He is comfortable and so well cared for. When eventually a decision to move a loved one into a Care Home is made. this really is a big thing and the support and kindness I received at this time was so much appreciated. The staff are so caring, well trained and friendly. All managed to the highest standard by Joanne. There is no feel of "Care Home". It feels like Home. The level of care, I believe, is above and beyond what I had dared hope for. The restaurant is light, and airy and the quality and choice of food is excellent, as are the kitchen staff.

Review of Silversprings from Janice C (Wife of Resident) published on 8 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Silversprings is housed in beautiful gardens and is welcoming as soon as you enter. The home is well equipped, each room having its own en suite, 2 lounge areas downstairs and one on the first floor. Although my husband and myself have had contact with Silversprings over the last few years, sadly his health has declined as such that he is now a resident. It has been a heartbreaking decision but has eased the stress of caring for him myself and I feel like his wife again. All the staff are so friendly and caring individuals, very supportive, and all appear to be happy in their work, and they all spoil my husband! The food is very good, endless cups of tea and cakes and ice creams most afternoons. There is a daily activity programme which is varied and tailored for all the residents. Can't praise Silversprings enough, thank you all.

Review of Silversprings from H D (Sister-in-law of Resident) published on 7 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
I have found the care staff seem to have a very sensitive understanding of the demanding issues associated with dementia. My sister in law is always treated with respect and encouragement.
On Friday evening my husband and I attended a musical evening at Silversprings. From the minute of our arrival we were warmly welcomed, with my sister in law nicely dressed and ready for the concert. With only 2 care staff in full attendance all the residents behaved impeccably, with any of their care needs attended to throughout the evening. So thank you for a splendid evening.

Review of Manor Lodge from Sharon S (Daughter of Resident) published on 24 June 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Our father has been at Manor Lodge for the past 3 months. The nursing care and support he receives is fantastic. The staff have got to know and understand him as a person and his needs and are always caring. As a family they keep us all updated if there are any health concerns or any special requirements they feel that would help or benefit him, they share this with us. Laura was so helpful and informative when we first enquired about care for our father, and is always happy to answer any questions or concerns we may have.

Can thoroughly recommend Manor Lodge.

My mother is very happy and settled at Silversprings. She had a recent medical episode and the care provided when she was discharged from hospital has been second to none. It was clear how pleased she was to be back "home" and also to see all the familiar faces around to look after and care for her.

Review of Manor Lodge from Yvonne L (Daughter of Resident) published on 15 June 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
I cannot speak highly enough of the care my mother receives at Manor Lodge. From the moment we walked through the doors we were welcomed with warmth and professionalism.
I was concerned that the move from another care home would affect my mother adversely for a while but she settled in straight away. The staff are incredibly kind and compassionate, they made her feel safe and at home, it is a huge comfort to know my mother is in safe hands.
The facilities are spotlessly clean, her room is bright and comfortable. There is a good choice of varied meals and the activities on offer have really helped my mother to socialize.

Communication with the team is excellent, I am always kept informed. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Manor Lodge to anyone seeking a safe and caring environment for their loved ones.

Review of Bailey Lodge from Ian R (Son of Resident) published on 13 June 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Bailey Lodge, it's facilities, it's staff, including Abi, Michael, Rebecca, Anna, Sally, Angie and the team of carers have been warm, welcoming and have provided my mother (Hazel) with the utmost care and dignity. Nothing has ever been a problem. My mother enjoys joining in with the different activities, (including dancing!). Every time I visit, she's beaming from ear to ear. You couldn't wish for more as for us relatives, it's distressing enough in hoping we have done the right thing. Being able to visit, have a coffee, a meal or a chat is more than some care facilities provide. It's a wonderful, inviting place to be, I'd recommend Bailey Lodge to all those considering a safe, beautifully appointed facility. I simply can't thank them all enough.

Review of Tall Trees from Wendy F (Sister of Resident) published on 28 May 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Our dear sister Barbara has been living at Tall Trees Colchester for just over two years. She had a very unpleasant experience before moving there, but I have to say her state of mind, her eating and drinking and her personal hygiene has totally changed. It's obvious that Barbara really enjoys living at Tall Trees and above all loves the constant attention and dare I say the love she is given from the management and carers, could not be improved.
There are plenty of daily activities which Barbara happily takes part in, mini bus trips to garden centres, the sea side and other places of interest and sensory interest, and cups of tea, cake and fish n chips are included. The residents all appear to get along with each other and their carers and a sense of unity truly exists between residents and carers.

My sister is always spoken to with affection and I would recommend Tall Trees Care to all concerned families who need to pass on the wellbeing and responsibility of their loved ones.
