My husband moved into Armstrong House in February of this year. He was looked after with care and empathy until he died less that 2 months later. I was always met with friendliness and compassion and was with him when he died, having been looked after myself I could not have chose a better care home and I take great pleasure in recommending it.

mam has been here for over 2 years now. we find the staff very helpful and nothing is a bother to them. We have found the new manager has made a lot of changes for the better. If we have a problem with anything a staff member will take the time to explain and answer any questions we may have.

Staff are very friendly + approachable particularly management who are always very helpful.

It's like walking into a hotel always spotless each floor the same the staff are so supportive on asking for help ie relatives there activity programs are fantastic for their residents they make their days out so special for them we visited yesterday and our family member said the girls organised a day out to Blyth for fish and chips driven there by chauffeur in a limousine that's how the girls who organise all entertainment are so special

Well what can I say. My mam, Alice, went into Cheviot Court for respite back in April 2025 for 8 weeks. After 4 weeks she decided she wanted to stay. And this from the woman who said she never wanted to go into a carehome. It was the best decision she ever made. She is so well looked after and cared for by the incredible staff. Each and everyone of them is worth their weight in gold. When she lived at home she had her TV on from getting up on a morning to going to bed. Now her TV only goes on at the end of her day to watch her soaps. She has a fabulous social life and enjoys all of the activities and particularly loves the singers, especially Chris. Honestly what a fabulous place, we are so lucky she got a place here. A big thank you to everyone who plays a part in Cheviot Court for making my mam's later life such a happy one.

My mam lived at Collingwood Court she had outstanding care from all staff and management. She had the staff laughing with her humor. When mam was on end of life the staff went beyond there role to not just care for mam they were a massive support for our family. We are so pleased we chose Collingwood for the last 18month of her journey

My Nanna has been living here at C.C for around 4 years now, staff are great, there are lots of different activities to suit everyone, from pamper days to wellness walks. We always feel welcome when visiting.

My mother feels safe in Cheviot Court environment & she absolutely loves the staff. This is very evident in her reactions towards them as she struggles to verbalise.

Excellent care from all of the staff at Grangewood. Mam recently had a fractured hip + the care received was second to none.

I am involved in my mother -in-laws life and have been for many years , visiting her very regularly. Following surgery a couple of months ago I have been unable to visit her. Though she has obviously missed me a great deal , the staff could not have been more helpful or attentive to her and my needs. I have spoken to nursing staff and both the manager and assistant manager often and have been kept abreast of how she has coped without my visits though we have obviously spoken on the telephone. I feel the staff have gone the extra mile to support her and make her feel cherished. This is high praise indeed

My mother has been in the care home coming up 2 years now. I can't fault any of the staff; they are respectful and always ready with a smile. They do their very best for the residents but they are over-stretched in their duties, however they still manage to keep residents clean and fed and occupied with different activities going on. They deserve a pay rise and could do with more staff so please take heed.

I can only commend the home for looking after my mother. In particular the care and attention to detail when she had an incident. They where quick to respond and very reassuring that follow up action would be taken the next day.

The meals could be better in here as they don't look great and portions can bd poor. Other than this I can't complain.

My mam has been here just over a year now and the family couldn't be happier with the care she receives. The staff are always welcoming and friendly with we come to visit mam. We couldn't be happier with the result from CQC they received as they definitely deserve it! X

My mom has been here for a while now . All the communal areas are very well decorated and welcoming. 99% of the staff are amazing always very chatty and helpful nothing is ever a problem they are very hard working.They are encouraging and empathic. The wellness programme is fabulous at the beginning of each week residents are given a sheet with all the activities of which there are many, morning, noon, and night. Sometimes bringing in outside people for singing, sports exercises. The wellness lady always goes above and beyond is extremely patient and caring. The floor leader of my mams floor is always ready to help and deal with any queries or concerns. From the domestics right up to management, they have always got a friendly smile and approachability about them. I would highly recommend this home to any relation looking to put their lived ones in a home.

My Aunt has been living in Collingwood court for a while now Not something as a family we ever thought we would do .Collingwood court is amazing Our Aunt is looked after to the highest level All the staff are happy .Collingwood is like our home from home My Uncle can go home after visiting Knowing she is looked after happy content The staff are very caring professional The home is nipping clean

My Mother went into Collingwood near the end of April. Her room is cozy and she has a nice view of the street like she had at home. I was worried because she was unable to settle in a previous home but the staff have done a great job getting her settled and keeping her engaged with activities. They are very friendly, catering to the needs of visitors as well as the residents.

We are pleased we picked Collingwood for her.
