I am very happy with mum's care overall. I appreciate that the unit is small which means care staff get to know mum well. The staff are excellent, especially at mum's unit. Training and understanding on how to deal with dementia patients is critical as patients are unpredictable. The staff are under-resourced at weekends and overnight.

Facilities are dated and need a refresh. Gardens are amazing & safe - do they need volunteers to help maintain it as I think it's underused.

First thing I noticed is that the home is very clean and tidy. From the moment you arrive, the staff make you feel welcome, and every member of the team I have met has been friendly, approachable, and smiling. It is clear from the way staff interact with the patients/residents that they are well cared for, comfortable, and happy.
The events are well organised (although I was surprised that the poster said to book for this weeks?!). I liked keeping up with the activities on social media, but it has been quiet of late. Not sure why?

I hope the new owners recognise what a fantastic team they have? They are a credit to any home.

I am very pleased and impressed by the standard of care my mother recieves at Hillview.

The staff are first class for which I am very grateful, it has been a huge relief at what is a very difficult time. I was told by friends that Hillview had a very good reputation and I would say that it is entirely justified.

Review of Hillview Court from Margaret D (Wife of Resident) published on 3 August 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience
Overall care in unit is excellent. Staff are very attentive & caring, not had much contact with management. Have attended relatives meetings. Domestic staff go extra mile and have steamed clean carpet many times to no avail. Carpet is disgusting 30 months on! Because my husband spends lots of time in bed/room there is not much activity or stimulation. Certainly no one to one!
He is very sedate (mostly) and very unobstructive he is left to his own devices and left to watch TV although no-one knows how much he can respond or understand
There is no psysiotherapy or encouragement to move his limbs, I try to do this on my daily visits, hands have now closed due to lack of movement. Could we do more?

Drinks not always available.

Review of Beechwood Park from E B (Granddaughter of Resident) published on 7 May 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Beechwood from the start have been amazing. Went for a visit and we were welcomed by Cheryl who is just fantastic. She was very informative, knowledgable, calming and caring. We were also joined by Marek who was just so warm and open with us. All staff are amazing, approachable and very caring. The home is clean and calm. The meals and activities available are brilliant and any concerns we had were resolved and all feedback taken on board.
The rooms are great and such a nice touch being allowed to decorate and make as homely as possible for residents.

Can't ask for much more!

Overall Experience
10 out of 5.
From my very first visit in January this year to see if Beechwood care home would be a good fit for my Mom's care I was so impressed. We were not rushed and had access to the whole nursing home.
Beechwood was absolutely my only choice for Mom. ( and we visited a number of other homes)
The first thing that struck me was the calmness and relaxed atmosphere. Every single member of staff were welcoming and happy to answer all my questions.
Mom has now been In for 5 weeks and she is transformed. I was so worried about how she would settle. The staff are brilliant. The management team are outstanding. I feel a massive weight has been lifted. I am 100% Mom is in the best place. Getting the best care and she loves the food. The activities are great. She loves the choirs.

Thank you

Review of Beechwood Park from D W (Daughter of Resident) published on 27 November 2025 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

I recently was truly impressed by all the staff working closely together to ensure mum's safety while tryin to make sure she was happy with decisions made. After she was found hanging out of bed it was thought best to put her bed against wall with crashmat on the otherside. For many reasons Mom was quite miserable about this mainly because she couldn't see activity of unit corridor. The unit manager was assembled by handymen & domestic staff cleaned and rearranged furniture in room resulting in mom being much happier and contented.

I can not express enough how grateful I am for the dignified way my mom is cared for by all members of the Beechwood team. I know that some days are easier than others, but that doesn't change the way in which they care for her. I've noticed some subtle changes over the last months from an HS&E perspective - all of which are very positive and demonstrate how the management team is proactive when it comes to managing risk. Thank you to the whole team for everything you do.

My mother has been with the care home since last December, she has dementia and has been bedridden since a period of delirium last year. The regular staff are very good with her, treating her with respect, dignity and warmth. Had Mum been more responsive, she would have enjoyed the many activities on offer at the carehome.

Well done to the staff for making the Carehome feel like a proper home.

Overall Experience
My brother has taken sometime to settle at Beechwood but the staff have been amazing we know he is well looked after and any problems that arise have been dealt with promptly and efficiently. He is a very picky eater and they try and accommodate his tastes. The cleaning staff are brilliant look after his room and him so well.
They have a garden area which needs some attention but this is being looked at and would be lovely to sit in the summer with him. Feel that staffing in evening could be better.
But overall very good.

Biggest problem we have had is financial trying to get answers and help. The reason overall experience is not five stars.
