Mountbatten Grange

from Sue M (Daughter of Resident) published on 20 February 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
The staff at Mountbatten Grange go out of their way to provide a personalised experience for the residents in their care. Both my parents are in Mountbatten Grange and they both have a care plan individualised for them. Dad is very active and loves attending all the activities whereas mum suffers with
Alzheimer's but the staff treat her with compassion and kindness. She is encouraged to participate in events but is often reluctant to do so. One carer, in particular, puts CDs on from her favourite singer for mum to listen to.
We knew Mountbatten was the right choice when mum and dad first visited three years ago. After 7 months they decided to go back home as they felt so much better, having been looked after and relieved of the pressures of looking after the house, but a year later chose to return. As a relative I feel I have a good relationship with the management team at the home and they are always willing to listen to any concerns I do have and answer any queries.
Reply from Claire Usher, Reviews Team at Mountbatten GrangeThank you so much for your lovely feedback. We’re delighted to hear that both your mum and dad feel supported in ways that suit them individually. It’s especially heartwarming to know the small, personal touches mean so much. We truly appreciate your trust and your kind words.

Mountbatten Grange has been my mother-in -law's residential home for over three years . During this time she has received excellent care and been made to feel comfortable and happy, and most of all safe. The staff are welcoming, helpful and concerned.
In January we had a lovely lunch for her to
celebrate her birthday in the private dining room on the third floor. She was made to feel very special. It has brought into contact with lovely staff, management , residents and residents' families. This makes visiting a pleasure. We are particularly pleased that our children and grandchildren feel welcome to visit.

Newbury Grove

from David G (Son of Resident) published on 13 February 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mother, Eunice, spent seven years at Newbury Grove, and from the moment she arrived we knew she was in the right place. She was treated not just as a resident, but as a valued individual. The compassion, patience and dignity shown by carers, nurses, catering, activities and management gave our family
enormous reassurance, especially as Mum became more frail. The nursing care was meticulous and professional, but always deeply human. Staff kept me informed, prepared us gently for the end, and handled Mum's final moments with extraordinary sensitivity. The catering team adapted beautifully as her needs changed, ensuring her meals were nourishing, personalised and beautifully presented. Activities staff brought joy, music and connection into her life. In her final days, she was cared for with tenderness and respect. We will always be grateful. Newbury Grove is exceptional.
Reply from Julie Howick, Reviews Team at Newbury GroveThank you very much David for taking the time to leave us feedback about your experience.

At Newbury Grove Care Home - Care UK we set a high standard for ourselves, so we are very pleased to hear that your experience with us has been a positive one. Knowing you felt Eunice was treated as a valued individual as her care needs changed is so important to us and shows the dedication and hard work of the whole team.

Many thanks the Newbury Grove team.

For the two years he spent at Newbury Grove Dad received the higest standard of care which adapted well with his changing needs and we were kept well informed of any changes or problems.
My brother and I are extremely grateful that dad's final years were spent in company, comfort, well fed, well
cared for and being able to enjoy the beautiful garden with a cup of tea in hand. This was achieved through the staff's skills, patience, respect and dedication. Adarsh leads a team which genuinely cares about the health and happiness of their residents and their families which was particularly evident and appreciated in the final weeks as Dad was nursed and comforted by people that he knew and knew him.
Newbury Grove is a bright, clean, positive place with excellent facilities, a variety of entertainment and a team of supportive staff all contributing to a happy village atmosphere.

My sister-in-law celebrated her 103rd Birthday on Sunday 1st Feb and Oak House arranged two magnificent parties one for residents and guests in the morning and one for the family in the afternoon. Both rooms were decorated beautifully, catering excellent and the staff outstanding. Entertainment first
class and a visit from the Mayor a great bonus. Enjoyed by everyone especially the Birthday Girl.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mum recently moved into Mountbatten Grange. From the moment I just popped in to look around, unannounced, I was met with smiles, love, professionalism and care. I knew immediately this is where I wanted mum to be cared for. The whole process was quick and easy, which was appreciated as I was both
mentally and physically exhausted having had mum in hospital for 6 weeks. The move was stress free, from day one mum has been cared for and nothing is too much for any member of staff.
Whilst we are only two weeks in, so much worry and stress has been taken off me and I can sleep at night.. Claire is amazing, explaining everything and continues offering support, not only to mum but also myself, always asking how I am doing and feeling about the move. Debbie is fantastic and I know if there is anything wrong (hasn't been so far) that it will be sorted. Tracey is very helpful and has given assistance completing forms and applied for funding. Thank you Mountbatten Grange you are the best.

All the nurses have been very patient to all her needs up to the last moment of her stay. We felt the protection was given especially with the different people who visit her. Overall the
