I am extremely pleased with every single aspect of the care home. From the initial viewing of the home, the above and beyond support given to get my father moved in there and now the continued support given to us all as a family.

Every single member of staff I have encountered are extremely professional, kind, caring and considerate. Truly a credit to a very demanding profession.

Review of Winchcombe Place from M G (Wife of Resident) published on 2 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Winchcombe Place is like a home from home. Everything you want for your loved one and us the people who are in need of support for them. A smiley warm welcome every time. My husband knew he was being heard. Gentle approach and empathy. The home has been very well designed and maintained throughout. The coffee shop has the most amazing cakes. Entertainment everyday for those who want to join in and quiet company for those who don't. I would definitely recommend Winchcombe. The staff are 5* lead by most caring team who want the best for all of their residents.

Reply from Emily Swatton, Reviews Team at Winchcombe Place

Thank you for taking the time to share such thoughtful feedback. It means so much to know your husband feels genuinely heard and cared for, and that the warmth of our team comes through in every visit. Caring for him, and for you, is a privilege we don't take lightly, and your words will mean a great deal to the whole team.

My father has been a resident for several months now. I have been consistently impressed with the care team. They are friendly, kind and caring to the residents with a wide variety of needs. John, Mo and Suzanne stand out for me and ensure a great culture and atmosphere. As a visitor I always feel welcome and questions and requests are always dealt with. Well done all!

Reply from Emily Swatton, Reviews Team at Winchcombe Place

Thank you so much for this, Paul. It's reassuring to know that over these past months you've seen consistent, genuine care for your father, and that questions or requests never go unanswered. John, Mo and Suzanne will be especially pleased to be mentioned by name, they, along with the rest of the team, put a lot into creating the kind of atmosphere you've described. Thank you.

Winchcombe Place is a wonderful place! The staff go out of their way to ensure that the residents are happy and well cared for; nothing is too much trouble. We used Winchombe Place for respite care, and the whole process from booking to the end of the stay was fantastic! I'd recommend them to anybody.

Reply from Emily Swatton, Reviews Team at Winchcombe Place

Thank you so much for your lovely feedback. It's wonderful to hear that respite care went so well from beginning to end, and that the care and attention to detail were felt at every step, not just during the stay itself. We're so glad Winchcombe Place could give you both peace of mind when it mattered.

My mother in law has been in Bickerton house since December 2025 and is thriving. Since arriving there the care that she has received has been amazing. Review of Mountbatten Grange from Craig M (Son of Resident) published on 22 June 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
We recently moved my father into Mountbatten Grange after a rather stressful few months and the staff at Mountbatten Grange, with Claire in particular, have been amazing.
Since first visiting the home when I was looking to move dad closer to me Claire has been so supportive. She was so welcoming and positive and after visiting with my brother on a subsequent occasion we were sure this is where we waned dad to be.
Since dad's arrival he has settled in well but what amazes me is how Claire and all the other staff still go the extra mile every day. I often come with my son's and we are all made to feel so welcome, but most importantly I see that dad is in great hands and really cared for. Claire and all the other staff members really make sure you all feel like part of the family and absolutely nothing is too much trouble for them making visits really relaxing, even for the youngsters that visit family.

Thanks so much for making this difficult transition as painless as possible.

Review of Newbury Grove from Beverley H (Daughter of Resident) published on 19 June 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

At a desperate time, i knew it was time for mum to be cared for properly. Mum initially came for 28 days respite care, but within a week we all knew the right thing was to make this a permanent move. There was never a question as to which Care Home mum would come to as my dear Dad spent his final 6 weeks being cared for at Newbury Grove (was formerly Gracewell). The care he received at such a difficult time was beyond outstanding. Mum has settled quickly and neither she nor us as the family can fault a single thing. Just seeing many of the same wonderful staff still working there after 8 years really spoke volumes. They love their jobs and look after each and every resident with extreme care, kindness and empathy. Visiting is a pleasure, my worries caring for my mum myself have gone away, and seeing her happy, interacting and safe in an environment that defies what we think of as a care home means everything to me. I don't feel I have compromised my Mum in anyway! Excellent!!!!

Review of Queens Court Care Home from John B (Son of Resident) published on 17 June 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Queen Court
We would like to say a big thank you to all the staff at Queen's Court for looking after my mother Elsie, we could not have found a better group of loving caring and kind people to look after her, they have been truly wonderful, to do there job they need lots of patience and to be quick on their feet to avoid the kung fu kicks, punching, bites and verbal abuse and that was just from my mum Elsie. Last year when we started the daunting process of finding a care home and hearing below average reviews of other places it was very stressful for us to find the right one, lucky for us Queen's Court was the first home we visited and it felt like home from home. It was a huge weight off our shoulders and we could now relax knowing Elsie was in good hands. The sending off from the staff when the funeral people left with Elsie was a nice touch. Best wishes to everyone at Queen's Court and again a big thank you.

Thanking you.John and Sheila

Review of Newbury Grove from J B (Son of Resident) published on 16 June 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
I would like to thank the manager and all of the staff at Newbury Grove very much, for looking after my mother during her final months of life.
The standard of care was consistently excellent; my mother's room was light and airy and kept spotlessly clean.
I was always kept informed of any changes in my mother's health, and/or medication and GP visits and given enough time to make any decisions.
The staff made, what was a particularly emotionally fraught time, much easier due to their positive attitude, empathic approach, professionalism and attention to detail; and I am very happy to have made the decision to have entrusted them with my mother's care.
Newbury Grove goes above and beyond to ensure that there are plenty of activities organised throughout the week, and although my mother had chosen not to get involved; her decision was respected.

I would not hesitate to recommend Newbury Grove to anyone wanting complete peace of mind for their parent or relative's care.

Review of Bickerton House from Kathryn R (Daughter of Resident) published on 15 June 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My Mum has been a resident at Bickerton since December 2025. We have both found the home to be so welcoming, kind and caring. Instantly it felt like a home from home to Mum and has continued to feel like that. There is an atmosphere of calm and happiness. The staff interaction with residents is always with kindness, respect and dignity. Staff also communicate well with each other with mutual support and respect. It is clear that Bickerton is lead well from the top with an open door policy to all. The management team actively encourages communication and feedback between all at the care home and clearly want to continue their high standards and to strive to do more. The activities team are excellent coming up with innovative ways to entertain all. The chefs are also excellent. I have no hesitation in recommending Bickerton.

Review of Newbury Grove from Paul H (Son of Resident) published on 12 June 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
I have nothing but praise for all the staff in Newbury Grove. They cared for mum in her last couple of years or so with such compassion, humanity and love. It was the best place for her to be and in a way we should perhaps have made the move sooner. It is making me well up just thinking about all the things they did for her, and how they interacted with her. We know that they also miss her after she moved on 'upstairs', as it were. Even at that difficult time the respect they showed her was exemplary. They really became an extension of our family and even I miss them, now.
The choice of food is incredible and may seem a bit much to some if truth be known as older folk don't have the appetites.
There are loads of activities and sing-alongs and the like. Each resident also gets to choose their birthday cake each year and you can guarantee a Happy Day will be had.
The ambience of the place is really lovely as well.

It's simply a lovely place for your loved one to spend their days

Review of Oak House from Georgia E (Granddaughter of Resident) published on 11 June 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My Nan has been a resident at Oak House for just over 1 year now & I honestly think it is one of the best decisions we have ever made, albeit a very difficult one at the time. Oak House has not once made us question the decision we made & we have honestly been SO happy with the way everyone at Oak House care for my Nan. It is like one big family & I absolutely love seeing my Nans face light up when the carers come over & say hello & engage with her so sweetly - my Nan even introducing one of them to me as her "friend" once! : ) We bring my Grandad to see my Nan twice a week & he is welcomed as if he is a resident & always made to feel comfortable & that nothing is of any bother. My Nan loves us bringing her down to the lovely seating area of the lobby to enjoy the coffee & cake provided & chat away! Everyone is just so lovely, approachable & welcoming & seeing my Nan so settled, happy & oh so much healthier than when she first arrived a year ago means the world to us! Thank you! : )

What a wonderful home Oak House is. It feels like such a family atmosphere from the minute you walk in with everyone so friendly and approachable. My mother is a resident there and we are all very happy with her care. She recently celebrated her 91st birthday and we had a family party there, arranged by some of the staff, with decorations and buffet provided . The manager is always friendly and ready to chat when she sees you. Excellent job everyone and thank you.
