Dad stayed at Mountbatten Grange several times for respite care while my mum was away on holiday. Organising his stays was really easy - Claire was very helpful and really supported my mum (and I) through the process. All the staff I met while dad was staying there were professional, kind and caring and the home itself was bright, clean and welcoming. Communication was excellent, with staff calling me if they had any queries or to inform me of anything important. Sadly my dad died while staying there in June, but the team on duty that evening were incredibly supportive to me and my sister when we arrived. They helped us through the next steps, contacted a local funeral director for us and prepared dad to be collected by them. It gave us great comfort to know that he was so well looked after right up to the end of his life and we really appreciated the care and consideration that the staff showed us that evening - it helped to make a difficult situation a little easier. Thank you!

I am extremely pleased with every single aspect of the care home. From the initial viewing of the home, the above and beyond support given to get my father moved in there and now the continued support given to us all as a family.

Every single member of staff I have encountered are extremely professional, kind, caring and considerate. Truly a credit to a very demanding profession.

We recently moved my father into Mountbatten Grange after a rather stressful few months and the staff at Mountbatten Grange, with Claire in particular, have been amazing.
Since first visiting the home when I was looking to move dad closer to me Claire has been so supportive. She was so welcoming and positive and after visiting with my brother on a subsequent occasion we were sure this is where we waned dad to be.
Since dad's arrival he has settled in well but what amazes me is how Claire and all the other staff still go the extra mile every day. I often come with my son's and we are all made to feel so welcome, but most importantly I see that dad is in great hands and really cared for. Claire and all the other staff members really make sure you all feel like part of the family and absolutely nothing is too much trouble for them making visits really relaxing, even for the youngsters that visit family.

Thanks so much for making this difficult transition as painless as possible.

Hi team, thanks so much for everyone making mum's 85th today so brilliant. She said it was her best birthday ever! The entertainer sang all the classic numbers, and mum loved dancing with everyone, your chef did an amazing birthday cake and all the care team went to such an effort to make her happy and make the day go smoothly. Thanks for painting her nails and getting the birthday cake sorted! Thanks for amazing dancing with the carers and residents! And thank you so much for booking such an excellent singer. A good time was had by mum, so thanks again for making it so memorable and special.

The staff at Mountbatten Grange go out of their way to provide a personalised experience for the residents in their care. Both my parents are in Mountbatten Grange and they both have a care plan individualised for them. Dad is very active and loves attending all the activities whereas mum suffers with Alzheimer's but the staff treat her with compassion and kindness. She is encouraged to participate in events but is often reluctant to do so. One carer, in particular, puts CDs on from her favourite singer for mum to listen to.

We knew Mountbatten was the right choice when mum and dad first visited three years ago. After 7 months they decided to go back home as they felt so much better, having been looked after and relieved of the pressures of looking after the house, but a year later chose to return. As a relative I feel I have a good relationship with the management team at the home and they are always willing to listen to any concerns I do have and answer any queries.

Mountbatten Grange has been my mother-in -law's residential home for over three years . During this time she has received excellent care and been made to feel comfortable and happy, and most of all safe. The staff are welcoming, helpful and concerned.

In January we had a lovely lunch for her to celebrate her birthday in the private dining room on the third floor. She was made to feel very special. It has brought into contact with lovely staff, management , residents and residents' families. This makes visiting a pleasure. We are particularly pleased that our children and grandchildren feel welcome to visit.

My mum recently moved into Mountbatten Grange. From the moment I just popped in to look around, unannounced, I was met with smiles, love, professionalism and care. I knew immediately this is where I wanted mum to be cared for. The whole process was quick and easy, which was appreciated as I was both mentally and physically exhausted having had mum in hospital for 6 weeks. The move was stress free, from day one mum has been cared for and nothing is too much for any member of staff.

Whilst we are only two weeks in, so much worry and stress has been taken off me and I can sleep at night.. Claire is amazing, explaining everything and continues offering support, not only to mum but also myself, always asking how I am doing and feeling about the move. Debbie is fantastic and I know if there is anything wrong (hasn't been so far) that it will be sorted. Tracey is very helpful and has given assistance completing forms and applied for funding. Thank you Mountbatten Grange you are the best.

My mother has been a resident at Mountbatten Grange for 18+ months and is happy, safe and engaged with the community. We're all very satisfied with the care and attention that she receives on a daily basis. The staff are attentive, caring, compassionate and fun.
Her friends and the rest of my family enjoy visiting her but more importantly, cannot express how grateful we are to now that she is safe and being well looked after.
She moved into the facility having been taken ill and spending several weeks in hospital. Since moving to Mountbatten, the improvements to her health and overall well-being are marked. The daily activities keep her mind sharp and she enjoys the entertainment and pamper days.

I visited a number of places before we settled on Mountbatten and we're all very happy with the decision.

My Stepmum has been at Mountbatten Grange for three or so months now. Realising that independent living is not an option any more, moving to the care sector was not without its difficult moments and a major concern for me. After being somewhere else for a while moving here has seen a huge transformation in her outlook on life which is just incredible and she is now so happy.

My Mum had been at Mountbatten Grange for 3 years living with advanced dementia when she passed away this month. The positive leadership at this care home drives a committed and caring team. Mum experienced kindness and compassion from staff at all levels, as did her family. All staff were friendly and on the whole joyful. The care home was clean, well furnished and bright and airy and there were plenty of activities going on for residents. Her end of life care was handled beautifully and she was treated with dignity and respect. Couldn't ask of more from a care home. Thank you.

Mountbatten Grange is fabulous on every level. Debbie, Claire and the whole team are all brilliant and make every element of this often painful phase of life, so much more bearable. The level of attention, care and kindness shown by everyone is unmatched. Although everyone is toally professional throughout, there is a real sense of family and community within Mountbatten Grange. Within hours of introduction, I was greeted by name every time I visited, always offered a coffee and always time for a chat. Everyone was so keen to understand Betty's background and history it was so refreshing.

Being able to relax and know that our loved one was in the best possible hands 24/7 made a huge impact on all of us involved. I would have absolutely no hesitation recommending Mountbatten Grange to everyone and was tempted to book in myself.

Debbie Winwood
Debbie WinwoodJob Title:Home Manager

I started my career in care in 2001 and joined the Care UK team in 2006. What really stands out for me about Mountbatten Grange is its homely atmosphere. Family members can visit whenever they want and are always guaranteed a lovely welcome.

My goal at work every day is to make sure every resident is happy and enjoying a stimulating, fulfilling life. I think the only way to achieve this is by making sure that each resident receives truly individualised care from people who’ve invested time in really getting to know them, their needs and their experiences. It’s also important to me that family members are happy with the care that their loved one is receiving. Getting great feedback from relatives is very rewarding for everyone on our team.

Outside of work I enjoy being outdoors, taking walks, going for bike rides and generally spending time in the countryside. Many residents enjoy spending time outdoors too, so we like to get out and about as much as possible, in the local area and also to the coast.
