other privately arranged healthcare. Should you require an escort to hospital appointments, we may apply
an agreed hourly charge for this service.

I could not recommend Mountbatten Grange more highly. I am a social worker university lecturer with high standards of what care should be. All the staff are clearly trained to a high standard and know how to work with residents showing respect, sensitivity, care and thoughtfulness so each resident can
feel special. I have just taken my mum home as she has fully recovered from the trauma of her broken hip but she really wanted to stay! I can’t thank every member of the team for the wonderful care my mum received.

I can't thank Mountbatten Grange enough for the wonderful care my friend received, very professional staff, a calm caring environment putting the needs of the individual at the centre of the care. I am so glad we got my friend in Mountbatten Grange as she received a 5 star treatment, all we wanted was
for her to be loved and cared for and to not be let down anymore. They provided more than we could of hoped for and communication from staff beginning to end was excellent. The staff were very approachable, looked happy and had such patience for my friend and for me, as her friend, with any questions or worries being put at ease. I honestly feel we would not have found a better place to be.

From the first phone call made, to ask about availability, I felt I was going to be able to trust that someone I care very much for would be somewhere safe, with kind, attentive staff.
I called a friend who is familiar with many of the care facilities in our area, and she was able to say without hesitation,
that Mountbatten Grange was 'a good one'.


All experiences of contact with Mountbatten Grange are conducted in a way that has made me feel safe and confident that everything is in hand.
My friend visited Mountbatten Grange, and couldn't get over how calm it felt.


The energy of the entire place is of being gently held safe. The beautiful angels (staff) that care so efficiently for everyone, have been observed in what would have been a moment of crisis anywhere else. - But here staff are 'on the ball'. - Some of them quietly slipped away, then when the 'event' was over, they silently dispersed, giving a little nod to the other staff that had remained in place.

All the staff are friendly and caring, not only to my dad who is now a resident but also to us, his family. We have had wonderful help from management and cannot thank them enough for getting us through our crisis with kindness and encouragement. We are so grateful.
Dad is very happy, putting weight
back on and thriving. His room is lovely. The whole place is lovely. I couldn’t recommend Mountbatten Grange enough. Thank you so much to all the staff.

From start to finish the manager and the team at Mountbatten Grange were fantastic. Obviously, you think putting your parent's care in the hands of others is going to be a traumatic experience - but the reassurance and empathy the team gave from minute one meant that it was not actually traumatic -
we knew he was in the right place. He certainly left a stronger man than he went in. And a special mention to one member of staff, in particular, who did a great job working with my dad.

My dad has been a resident here since June 2021. After a long and hard decision, we looked for a home for him as he has Alzheimer’s and vascular dementia and we no longer could look after him. Mountbatten has been brilliant in settling him in and we have only been in contact with people who care not
only for him but understanding our needs as a family. My dad has settled in well and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Mountbatten Grange.

I find this quite difficult, my understanding from several sources is that my wife joined Mountbatten Grange in September 2020 and it's for sure she started as a tricky patient. The staff have been remarkable in their tolerance. She has finely settled, it has been 5 months and she now is happy and I
am extremely grateful. I can only guess whether it is better than its competition. I feel lucky.

First impression is extremely supportive and experienced staff. The facilities seem very good indeed. I feel the staff want the very best for the family members and my mother. I have always found the staff to be very caring and respectful to both visitors and residents. Although it has been difficult not seeing my mother with the restrictions in place, I feel the staff have done all they can to keep her safe and as happy as possible. Revolving doors of carers on the dementia floor so no empathy apart from a few focused carers. Shocking Management and communication.


Caring experience for my mother with dementia promised so much but delivered little, especially over the Covid period. My Mum was a resident for 14 months.

Her room is comfortable and well equipped for safety and with an ensuite facility.

My 98-year old mother spent four weeks in respite at Mountbatten Grange having suffered both mentally and physically whilst living independently during lockdown. The care and attention she received during her stay were exemplary with attentive, committed staff in well-designed and attractive facilities.
This included close monitoring of my mother's welfare at all times, prompt attention in the event of any problems, excellent management of her medication and regular efforts to involve her in the activities of the home. I was kept fully informed of my mother's progress throughout her stay and the marked improvement in both her physical and mental state when she left the home is testimony to the efforts of the team.

I spent 12 days at this care home in respite care. Due to the virus, I could not join in activities but was isolated in my room. The service I received was very good, I think full residency would be really worth it.

Job Title: Home Manager

I started my career in care in 2001 and joined the Care UK team in 2006. What really stands out for me about Mountbatten Grange is its homely atmosphere. Family members can visit whenever they want and are always guaranteed a lovely welcome.


My goal at work every day is to make sure every resident is happy and enjoying a stimulating, fulfilling life. I think the only way to achieve this is by making sure that each resident receives truly individualised care from people who’ve invested time in really getting to know them, their needs and their experiences. It’s also important to me that family members are happy with the care that their loved one is receiving. Getting great feedback from relatives is very rewarding for everyone on our team.


Outside of work I enjoy being outdoors, taking walks, going for bike rides and generally spending time in the countryside. Many residents enjoy spending time outdoors too, so we like to get out and about as much as possible, in the local area and also to the coast.
