other privately arranged healthcare. Should you require an escort to hospital appointments, we may apply
an agreed hourly charge for this service.

We moved mum into Mountbatten Grange several weeks ago. It got to a point where she needed 24-hour care. From my first phone call, the whole team have been so supportive. The full range of emotions are at play in taking, justifying and then living with the decision to move a loved one into a Care Home. Whilst it's a difficult one, knowing that it will never quite be a "Home-from-Home", Mountbatten Grange comes as close as it could possibly get.
It is not just the consistent
level of professionalism demonstrated by all members of staff from receptionist, entertainer, nurse, chef to manager; it is the collective generosity of spirit, kindness and empathy of an entire team that sets it apart.
It feels that you are not just engaging a care home, you are entrusting an extended family.
It is this that makes the decision the right one for me, my family and my parent.

There are care homes - and then there is Mountbatten Grange.
Care homes vary considerably in their facilities, location, activities provided and price but the most important thing that they can offer is care in the best sense of the word. Good care is priceless and this is where Mountbatten Grange
scores so highly. The care staff are superb, patient, kind and engage empathically with both residents and their visitors. This extends from the management to all the staff who make everyone so welcome. Hurrah also to the chefs for the mouthwatering cakes and savouries they produce for their cafe every day.
Choosing a care home is a very emotional and difficult choice to make but there is a warmth and sense of camaraderie there that makes you realise that you have made the best choice.

Mum came to Mountbatten Grange for 2 weeks respite care while we were away on holiday. Mum had concerns re the bathroom, mainly the shower but she said it was the best, better than her shower at home. The staff are incredible really good with the residents and their visitors. The home is really nicely
decorated. The staff made sure she was included in all the activities on offer. She especially enjoyed the physio sessions and has carried them on now back at home. Also the card games. When it was time for her to leave all the staff available came to say goodbye to her and gave her a lovely send off back home.
Will certainly use this care home again and would recommend to others.

Excellent care was given to my 99-year-old father who went in very poorly for two weeks of respite care. He was so well cared for by the manager's team, he was up on his feet and able to walk out to the car. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this outstanding care home.

My husband was in Mountbatten Grange for three years. He was very well looked after by all the wonderful staff. He passed away at the end of March. I was told it was not good for me to cut off just like that. I come in twice a week and see all the staff who always make me very welcome and I visit people
that I know.

My dad became a resident at Mountbatten Grange in April and has settled really well. His health has improved, he has gained weight and his anxiety levels have visibly decreased. He has spoken very positively about his care, including the activities laid on and the food.
All of the staff have been friendly

A few years ago I spent countless hours looking for the right care home. I visited about 20. Mountbatten Grange was head and shoulders above anywhere I visited. My now 94-year-old mother has spent the past 21 months at Mountbatten Grange, she became a resident after a number of dislocations to her hip and the onset of vascular dementia. She arrived in a leg splint however after 6 months of dedicated care by the fantastic staff and one-on-one attention by the
attending physiotherapist her splint was finally removed and her capability to walk with her walker unaided was achieved and maintained. My mother is adored by the staff, her character enjoyed and encouraged, more so now that the dementia is progressively having its impact. It is without doubt the best facility any son could wish for his mother approaching her final years. It is unquestionably 5-star in every single aspect of its being.

My mother has been at Mountbatten Grange for about a year and her health and general well-being have really improved more than I could ever have hoped. I am amazed at the care and concern the staff have all shown and how warm the atmosphere is - there always seems to be something happening in the way
of an activity, a group event or a hair appointment, so that life is made as pleasant as possible and her immobility is offset as well as it possibly could be. There are regular physio sessions and a sense of medical attention given unobtrusively. Her mental state is so much better I think than it was before she moved here, as she has lots of interaction with people and carers are always popping in for a quick chat. It has been quite an eye-opener for me as I had assumed a care home would not be quite like this, but the staff are really bringing off a small miracle in what they provide here. The food is also excellent!

My father became a resident in Mountbatten Grange in late January 2024. Immediately my sister and I were pleased with the care and attention given by all members of staff. My father has remarked on numerous occasions how wonderful the staff are. He has become involved in twice-weekly exercise activities
which have helped his mobility. Having lived on his own for a great number of years when he could go days without speaking to anyone other than on the phone, he has now has daily contact with staff and fellow residents and this can only be good for his mental welfare.
When my wife and I visit him we are always made welcome, invited to have a coffee and some pastries. We also get an honest feedback on how my father is doing. Overall we are very pleased with treatment and friendship and care.

My mother was at Mountbatten Grange for end-of-life care, and I cannot praise the staff enough. Although this nursing home is an amazing facility, it is the generous, kind nature of the staff that makes it superb. Not only do they care for the residents, they care for the family and friends of the residents
compassionately - this is what sets them apart. From the initial contact with two wonderful ladies to the receptionists, catering, cleaning and nursing staff, this is a working family who work seamlessly day and night, and nothing is too much bother. Small touches made a difference - a radio and a fluffy duvet. I cannot express my thanks enough to all the staff for making my mother's last couple of weeks so peaceful and caring.

The very first time I visited Mountbatten Grange Care Home I knew that my mum would feel comfortable living here. The ambience, decor and facilities make you feel like you’re in a beautiful hotel and the staff are all extremely friendly and helpful. The manager is so accommodating and helpful to ensure
Mum has her every need taken care of. One member of staff, in particular, also has been really helpful at all times with the administration and other questions I have as well. The activities are so varied and in the space of just over a month, Mum has joined in so many things she would never have experienced at home, like painting, making things, zumba, puzzles, singing, jigsaws and pumpkins for Halloween. The activities staff and the other caters all help to make this time fun with her. The team on floor 3 are all so friendly and caring too. Best decision I had to make for my mum's care.

After having visited and researched many local homes we moved my wife (who suffers from Lewy Body Dementia) into Mountbatten Grange in October last year. This is always a very difficult decision but, from the start, the staff made every effort to get to know her and to welcome and settle her in. A few
months in, she is indeed settled and content. These things take time - and the team working with my wife and our family knew that and have been patient, friendly and attentive throughout. We are very grateful to the staff and to other residents and their families for their care and attention. Mountbatten Grange now feel like family.

We have a Mum and Aunt residing at Mountbatten Grange. Both are extremely happy and are getting the very best of care from the staff there. Physically and mentally all their needs are met and exceeded. They are now both so much better than when they were living alone and our worries about their future

I was impressed with Mountbatten Grange from my very first contact when I enquired about long term respite care for my 90 year old parents. Every question, worry and anxiety I had about moving both my parents into a care home was treated with respect and understanding. Despite my parents' reservations
about a care home being like a prison and then having nothing to do there, they settled very quickly and now Dad says ‘it is better than a 5* hotel.’ The staff have gone out of their way to accommodate their needs ensuring they can be together. There are plenty of activities for them to take part in and there is always a welcome for family too when they visit. Dad, in particular, loves the variety of food and both my parents are looking healthier thanks to the care given to them. In the first month they were there they went on a boat trip on The Thames to Henley which they enjoyed immensely. As a family we are very pleased with our choice of care home for our parents.

Job Title: Home Manager

I started my career in care in 2001 and joined the Care UK team in 2006. What really stands out for me about Mountbatten Grange is its homely atmosphere. Family members can visit whenever they want and are always guaranteed a lovely welcome.


My goal at work every day is to make sure every resident is happy and enjoying a stimulating, fulfilling life. I think the only way to achieve this is by making sure that each resident receives truly individualised care from people who’ve invested time in really getting to know them, their needs and their experiences. It’s also important to me that family members are happy with the care that their loved one is receiving. Getting great feedback from relatives is very rewarding for everyone on our team.


Outside of work I enjoy being outdoors, taking walks, going for bike rides and generally spending time in the countryside. Many residents enjoy spending time outdoors too, so we like to get out and about as much as possible, in the local area and also to the coast.
