Mum had one negative comment - saying some of the staff did not enjoy their job and didn't like what they had to do in the role - it was noticeable to her, she is very aware despite short term memory loss. But she enjoyed all the activities very much. It was a great help to me to know mum was in safe
hands. Thank you.
Reply from Samantha Debenham, Reviews Team at Heath Lodge Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback regarding Heath Lodge. We are so pleased to read that you feel mum is in safe hands with the team and that she enjoys the activities on offer. The team will appreciate this as they continue their hard work. We are sorry to read however, that mum feels some of the staff do not enjoy their job. This is never something we would want the residents or family to feel. Please be assured that this feedback will be reviewed with the team to ensure a positive experience. If you would like to discuss this in further detail, please know the Home Manager would be happy to do so with yourself or mum. Thank you again

My dad is a resident at Cavell Court an we are so happy about the care that he is receiving. He has settled in so well. His room is lovely with some petsonal touches and he has not had a bad word to say about any of the staff. Food is varied and my dad enjoys it all.

This home and the love and level of care is completely incomprehensible unless you experience this first hand.
The whole staff team are caring, thoughtful, conscientious and always make my relative smile.
The kitchen create the most delicious meals and the housekeeping team always ensure the home
is fresh and beautiful. The maintenance always help with all the home improvements.
The nurses are approachable and keep me updated on everything.
The home manager is the nicest lady you could ever wish to meet, who made us feel completely welcome, safe, cared for and comfortable from the second we met her. She took extra special time to meet my loved one, spend time with him before admission and ensure everything was perfect from day one. We looked at 10 homes, Oak Manor was the 10th home we saw and we knew immediately.
I cannot recommend this home more to anyone looking for nursing care and more specifically dementia specialist care.

Right from our first meeting, we knew Heath Lodge was the care home for my wife. The care is 110%, and you will not find a more lovely and professional bunch of management and carers anywhere. My wife did go into two homes for respite, but they cannot hold a candle to Heath Lodge care. To say she is
very happy and the family is very happy is an understatement.

When you hand over your loved one for others to care for them you trust them to offer kindness and compassion at a difficult time.
Oak manor did just that. They truly cared for my father offering activities and birthday celebrations. Their kindness on the day he passed surpassed all expectations. He
was treated as we were with genuine care. The staff are truly amazing thank you this will never be forgotten x

Oak Manor demonstrated an incredibly professional and empathetic approach when supporting and caring for my dad during the last few months of his life. He was always treated with dignity and care. His diagnosis of advanced dementia meant that sometimes his behaviour could be challenging, and a previous
nursing home had struggled to manage him.
However from the moment he arrived at Oak Manor he appeared to relax and his placement gave him his dignity back during the final months of his life.
All staff, without exception were friendly and supportive, and welcoming whenever we visited, making us cups of tea and offering hugs when they were needed.
I'm so happy that my dad got to spend his final months with you and will be always grateful for the high standard of care and support he received while he was in your care.
Reply from Stuart Lamacraft, Reviews Team at Oak ManorThank you so much for your kind words. We are deeply honoured to have cared for your father during his time with us and we are especially pleased that you recognised the dignity, care and respect he received. Your kind words mean a great deal to everyone at Oak Manor.

My mother is currently being cared for within Heath Lodge. The care she has received ever since moving into the home has been exemplary. They hit high standards across all categories. Focus is very much on the residents, building relationships, understanding their needs and going the extra mile to
make them feel special and part of the Heath Lodge family. Highly recommended!

My husband was admitted to Oak Manor in 2024 from a failing Care Home. The contrast between the two homes was stark. There are so many wonderful things to say about this home it is difficult to know where to start.
You feel welcomed as soon as you walk in. The home is clean and gives the impression
of being loved. The staff are amazing, they do a very difficult job but always professionally, with kindness, care and a smile on their faces. It is evident that they take pride in what they do and are valued for doing it.
This is very much down to the leadership, which is exceptional. They are highly professional, hands on, accessible, approachable and always willing to listen and act when required. The love and care they show to residents and their families is second to none; you feel as if you are all part of a family.
My husband died there recently and the care and support he and our family got from cleaners, care and nursing staff and management was truly wonderful.
Thank you so much.

Cavell Court is a wonderful care home. My dad went there from hospital as he was extremely unwell and unable to go home. He was there for 10 months in which time the care and compassion and friendship he received was incredible. Dad was VERY reluctant to be there when he first went in, wouldn't take
medication etc but through the patience and kindness they won his trust resulting in him being able to go home and live with his partner again.
Everyone is so friendly and welcoming, they run the home to make it feel like one big happy family. We as a family are forever grateful to Cavell Court, they got me my dad back from a very bad place he was in mentally and physically through care and understanding.

My sister is really happy in her environment. There is always plenty to do and many treats along the way. The staff are all very friendly and react kindly to all residents, without exception. A very caring staff.
The Entertainments Manager always seems to have great ideas, that keep the residents,
engaged and proactive, which is so good for their mental health and well-being. The Home is well managed and although there may be a few hiccoughs now and again, as is always in a large community, these are rapidly solved with the meetings that are regularly held with family members and staff.
All in all, a fun place to be. Well done.

As my mother reached the end of her amazing, one-hundred year life, the staff treated her (and myself) with kindness and respect which I'm sure was some comfort to her in her last hours. It was clear how much they all cared for her at that time and again when they came outside to pay their respects
as she made her last journey to the crematorium. I am deeply grateful to them all for looking after her for more than two years prior to that too.

gardens are lovely to walk round with some beautiful flowers. All of the staff at Cavell Court are very polite with very good communication skills and always available when my wife needed anything. There was no problems whilst my wife was in care and she was looked after with dignity and patience.Overall I would say that this is the best care home we have ever come across and would recommend the home to anyone with whatever there needs are.The standards at Cavell Court are second to none and everything is taken care of to put you at ease.

My mother has been a resident at Heath Lodge since 1st June 2023. It is an extremely difficult and emotional time when one acknowledges that this is a decision one has to make for a much-loved parent. My mother is as happy as she can be under the circumstances. The whole team are so caring and understanding
at Heath Lodge and in my opinion they go the extra mile to do all they can to make their guests feel as much 'at home' as possible.

My wife's move to Heath Lodge from another care home, who didn't have the skills level to look after her safely, went smoothly. The staff were extremely welcoming and she settled in quickly.
She requires assistance with nearly all aspects of her daily care. The staff are consistently kind, attentive,
and considerate of her needs, especially as she is often only able to communicate non-verbally. They take time to understand her and respond with patience and compassion.
Her 14-page care plan is detailed, regularly updated and reviewed monthly.
Whenever she is moved by hoist, staff carefully explain what is going to happen and carry this out with patience and reassurance. Her personal care is always delivered with dignity and respect.
The carers also make an effort to involve her in activities which she is often happy simply to watch,
This caring and professional approach starts with the manager and is reflected across the entire team. It is something they should all be proud of.
