Review of Louth Manor from G H (Sister of Resident) published on 28 August 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

I visited my sister on Tuesday 4/8/26 at 1.30pm The senior and carers were trying to get Sandy to agree to a shower, but she was resisting as she stays in bed most of the time. I went in and asked Sandy to agree to have a Shower (as she really needed it) and she said "Yes" as long as I came back later, which I did. When I returned she was showered and having her hair set in the hairdressing salon and this was just what she needed. Good work from senior, carers hair dresser

During visits to the home, the atmosphere appears quiet and calm. My father is very happy living at Louth Manor. Staff are always friendly and professional and on the occasion where a minor issue is identified these are always rectified immediately.

My father, suddenly found himself requiring 24 hr care. Louth Manor had a room available and had a good reputation. He has a private room which is large and spacious, with private shower/ wc. He has taken some of his furniture and pictures from home. The staff are all very friendly and caring, from the office staff carers to the maintenance team. Dad enjoys his food and the daily menu offers a great selection and if he is feeling a bit off, they will provide something simple and fresh! We are very happy with Louth Manor.

The staff at this care home genuinely care about the residents. There is always plenty for the residents to do and there was a friendly community feel to the place. It was always exceptionally clean and smelled fresh. It has the feeling of a hotel and it was by far the best care home we visited. The food was also very good.

My husband has been for respite here on and off for about 15 months now and its the best care home for many reasons in my view. All the staff are lovely and caring plus great faculties.

This is the only place my husband will go to now He is very happy here which helps me enormously. Thank you Louth Manor.

My late cousin booked into Louth Manor for a weeks respite whilst I went on holiday,
1 week turned into 9 months as at the home my cousin had a beautiful large room, mobility electric bed, on suite wet/bathroom, lifts, 24/7 care, basically everything she needed so it was so much more comfortable and catered for her needs as she was suffering bone cancer

The staff are lovely not just to patients but also visitors

I stayed here for 3 weeks in May & was not quite sure what to expect having witnessed my late wife's brief stay in a Care Home several years ago.
I should not have had the slightest concern as my stay at Sleaford Manor was an absolute joy.
From the moment I arrived I was greeted by very kind, polite, smiley & caring Staff. who always made a point of asking how I was whenever we met.
This lovely Care Home is beautifully furnished & in a lovely setting with immaculate gardens.

If ever I need care in the future I know that I shall want to return to this 5* Hotel!

After viewing a few care homes we came across Sleaford Manor, and we're really glad we did. The environment feels more like a 5* hotel than care home, the staff are lovely, kind and welcoming, the Activties team do a great job keeping people entertained. It's never easy to leave a relative in a care setting, but we feel happy to leave knowing that our relative is happy and settled.

Review of Sleaford Manor from M T (Son of Resident) published on 1 April 2025 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My mother went to Sleaford Manor initially for respite care. She has subsequently decided to stay and become a permanent resident, which rather speaks for itself. She feels safe, well looked after and has all the support she needs in a very comfortable room. The staff are an ideal combination of highly professional and friendly. All her medical needs are met through the visiting GP and the district nurse.

My own impressions as a visitor are very favourable. The ambience is more that of a top quality hotel than what I had previously imagined a care home to be like. The facilities are modern and purpose built with attractive lounges, private dining rooms, a hair salon, accessible outside space and even a cinema room. The rooms are bright, spacious and well equipped. I have found the staff, from reception through to the manager, very pleasant to deal with and always willing to help, especially the senior care staff who are all very experienced and have provided great support.

Mum went into Steaford Manor for respite care.

She was made to feel very welcome as soon as she arrived and we have found that the home has done everything to meet her needs. The staff are lovely and we cannot praise them enough. For someone who didn't really want to go into a home, she has settled well and seems to be enjoying her break. Thank you, Sleaford Manor!

I stayed for 2 weeks respite care after a knee joint replacement and found all the staff. From management to carers and cleaners, extremely helpful and caring. I would certainly recommend your home to anyone. The facilities are excellent. The food is good and entertainment is also good, in fact the overall experience couldn't be faulted.

Staff were welcoming, polite and efficient and were aware of the need to provide for personal space. Entertainment facilities were good and there is a lovely patio/garden for warmer weather sitting out.

Plenty of space in rooms/corridors and communal areas. Clean and well kept. Quality of meals adequate.

Overall Experience
We all want the best care for our loved ones, and, in choosing a care home we might first be attracted to the many facilities, the luxury rooms, the restaurants etc. Louth Manor certainly has all of these.
But, in truth, life is a bit more complex than that, and what we really want for our loved ones is care love and protection when they are feeling vulnerable, a feeling of belonging, interaction and interest, in effect, a home from home.

My wife has been a resident in the Haven wing for over two years, and I visit almost every day, so I see most of what happens. No, it's not always perfect, but mostly it's very good and always the staff care for the residents in a respectful, professional, and loving manner. Just as you would at home.

It took a week of so for my grandmother to settle due to some teething issues, however the management team and staff have been attentive to feedback and have worked very hard to resolve the small issues. As a family we are very pleased with the care and support provided. My grandma is delighted with her room and the food provided. Thank you for all you do to make this difficult transition smooth and pleasant, we are very grateful.

We moved Dad from a care home in another area in June to be closer to family and I wish we'd done it sooner. The communication between senior staff and myself was excellent, I was informed of issues arising with Dad's health regularly. Care staff, including domestic and kitchen, were all conscientious and the care and respect Dad was given was very good. The facilities are excellent during warmer days. The activities team were inclusive to all floors and adapted dementia residents and their needs. Learning about residents likes/dislikes was obviously priority and made Dad's stay a better experience. Since Dad passed away we have been shown nothing but care and respect. Thank you to everyone who dealt with Dad.

Everywhere was very clean. The staff were always cheerful, welcoming and helpful. Good variety of food and a good standard. Potion size also. The room was clean and had a lovely view. Comfortable bed. Talking to family was tricky. I would have liked my own phone. As I am unable to use a mobile phone. The family had trouble getting through and sometimes messages didn't get through.

Review of Sleaford Manor from Nicky D (Daughter-in-law of Resident) published on 11 September 2024 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My mother-in-law stayed for two weeks here and had a positive experience overall. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and the staff were always friendly, cheerful and helpful. The food was good and there were a variety of meals, with good portion sizes. Her room was lovely and fresh with lots of space for clothes/belongings, with a pretty view of the garden and a comfy bed. Although she didn't join in much, there seemed to be a variety of activities available.

She cannot use a mobile phone and communication was often tricky, with family and friends finding it hard to get through at times. It would be amazing if on the next stay (she definitely wants to return), she could have her own phone in her room.

Reply from Yorkare Homes Group, Experience Coordinator at Sleaford Manor

Thank you for taking the time to leave the home and team such a lovely review. On your mother-in-law's next stay with the home, we can of course have a telephone setup in her room, the points are already available for each of the bedrooms, please just ask and this can be arranged for her. We look forward to seeing you all again.
