What a lovely, calm and happy place this is. I feel really safe and very well cared for. The permanent staff are a delight, always smiling and cheerful. Sadly the same cannot be said for some of the night agency staff!

My own impressions as a visitor are very favourable. The ambience is more that of a top quality hotel than what I had previously imagined a care home to be like. The facilities are modern and purpose built with attractive lounges, private dining rooms, a hair salon, accessible outside space and even a cinema room. The rooms are bright, spacious and well equipped. I have found the staff, from reception through to the manager, very pleasant to deal with and always willing to help, especially the senior care staff who are all very experienced and have provided great support.

We moved Dad from a care home in another area in June to be closer to family and I wish we'd done it sooner. The communication between senior staff and myself was excellent, I was informed of issues arising with Dad's health regularly. Care staff, including domestic and kitchen, were all conscientious and the care and respect Dad was given was very good. The facilities are excellent during warmer days. The activities team were inclusive to all floors and adapted dementia residents and their needs. Learning about residents likes/dislikes was obviously priority and made Dad's stay a better experience. Since Dad passed away we have been shown nothing but care and respect. Thank you to everyone who dealt with Dad.

She cannot use a mobile phone and communication was often tricky, with family and friends finding it hard to get through at times. It would be amazing if on the next stay (she definitely wants to return), she could have her own phone in her room.

Sleaford Manor is a very special place. Whilst the facilities are fantastic, it is the staff who are the real wizards here. They all go above and beyond. Nothing is ever too much trouble, and I am always made to feel that Mum and I are the sole purpose of their day. It is so rare to find this level of consistency throughout an entire organisation and is something money cannot buy. Mum initially went for respite care, but the love and kindness she received made the huge decision to become a resident so easy for her. Mum dreams of swimming again. The staff are really keen to help her achieve this goal, which is reflective of their exceptional dedication to all of their residents. There is plenty to motivate each day, from the activities programme to the menu. Mum is always praising the quality, nutrition and variety of the food served. We are both very thankful that we discovered the amazing team at Sleaford Manor.

I’m delighted to be part of the Care UK team, bringing my experience as a Registered Nurse and my BSc in Dementia Studies from the University of Bradford to my role.
I believe a successful Home Manager needs to be compassionate, resilient, and an effective leader. Good communication, sound judgement, and integrity are also essential, alongside a commitment to delivering safe, dignified, and person-centred care while supporting colleagues to reach their full potential.
My favourite part of the day is seeing residents happy, engaged, and enjoying meaningful activities while our team works together to provide outstanding care. It is particularly rewarding to see residents achieve personal goals and receive positive feedback from families, knowing that the support we provide is making a real difference.
What makes me most proud is leading a dedicated team that puts residents’ wellbeing at the heart of everything they do, creating a safe, supportive, and positive environment for everyone in the home. For me, the most important part of my role is knowing that the decisions I make each day help residents live safely, comfortably, and with dignity, while supporting my team to provide the best possible care.
