Mum went into Sleaford Manor in November 2023, initially for respite care following a fall at home. Two weeks afterwards she decided to stay on to receive full-time care. I was concerned that after living on her own for so many years she would not easily adjust to communal living, but she has formed a close bond with one of the other residents and now refers to Sleaford Manor as “home”.

I cannot thank all the management and staff enough for the way they treat Mum with dignity and respect at all times and for providing excellent care 24/7.

Visited my uncle whilst in the area for Christmas. He was very happy and settled, considering he'd only been at the home for a short while. What I saw of the home was very impressive. Great staff, great environment and care that is second to none.

I found Sleaford Manor very satisfactory. I needed care after being in hospital. It regained my strength before returning home. The staff were very attentive in general and, other than the continued ringing on bells which woke me up in the middle of the night, my stay was an enjoyable experience.

Reply from Claire Gordon-Rundle, Home Manager at Sleaford Manor

Thank you for your review of Sleaford Manor. We apologise about the bells, we will be making this a silent system in the future so hopefully if you return to Sleaford Manor this wont be a problem!

So pleased my dad moved in. The home itself is stunning and the staff amazing. Dad enjoys the entertainment and activities and says the food is great as well. I have peace of mind that he has support 24/7 and I couldn’t be happier and Dad always has a smile on his face in the photos posted for friends and family to view. The care my dad has received has been first class, I can’t recommend Sleaford Manor enough, it is great for both of us.

The only thing that I can write is that everybody here is caring, cheerful, friendly and professional. Nurses, managers, receptionists, cleaners and catering staff. Thank you, I will never forget the time I have spent with you.

Dad was welcomed into the home for two weeks respite. After the two weeks, Dad wanted to stay permanently.

Staff are very friendly, kind and nothing is too much trouble. Food is very good and the room is beautiful. As Dad says 'just like home'. Thank you.

Claire Gordon-RundleJob Title:Home Manager

My favourite part of the day is seeing residents and colleagues happy. We have a wonderful mix of personalities here at Sleaford Manor, and there is often a lot of laughter.

The residents at Sleaford Manor form strong friendships with each other and regularly recognise the hard work of the team, which is lovely to see. Many of the core team have been part of the care home since we opened, and each person brings their own strengths to the home.

I hold NVQ Levels 2, 3 and 5, a Higher Apprenticeship in Adult Care Management and a degree in Autistic Spectrum Disorders. I have worked in the care sector since leaving school in 1986, spending ten of those years specialising in autism.

To do this role well, I believe you need patience, honesty and an approachable nature. You must be a people-person who can relate to others and understand the needs of residents and their families and friends.

My biggest career achievements have been commissioning new homes. Sleaford Manor is my third, and I am extremely proud of what we have created. I am also proud of my continued learning and the positive relationships I have built with residents, families and fellow colleagues.

The most important part of my role is simple: residents’ satisfaction.

Outside of work, I enjoy walking my Boxer dog, Chester, especially along the Cornwall coastline. I love concerts, holidays and dining out, and once completed a skydive for Alzheimer’s Society, raising almost £2,000.
